This looks really good. I wonder if a gloss coat on top would give the illusion of the "white core" because of light reflecting.

Idk how I feel about this… like it makes sense, it looks good and it’s a brilliant idea but part of me also makes me feel like it looks like a toy lightsaber, with the normal you kinda get the idea that it’s light? If that makes sense… idk I think they need to make lightsabers out of some crystal to refract that light better then plastic
They def need to rethink their lightsabers and make them better!

Really great idea and not too expensive. Curiously have you heard of of CCFL light sabers? I recently made a video showcasing 1 that I got. Obviously it's not really a DIY thing (at least easily) but there are places you can have it done.
Yeah, I’ve definitely considered going the CCFL route but the things that hold me back are the price to do all my sabers, the fact that they get really hot, wire management and you can’t reverse the process. They look super sick though!!

Interesting question. I THINK because you are just scuffing the blade it would still work well, but can’t guarantee it.

I would recommend going on Amazon or to your hardware store and matching up the paint color that you want. I’ve only don’t the green and red so far.
What do y’all suggest for blue??
I haven’t tried a blue yet, but I would just search amazon for something that is comparable and that you like.
Hey there great video! did you use the same kind of fluorescent paint for luke and yodas lightsabers or did you just go lighter on Luke's?
Also one other question have you had any of the paint chip when removing the blade? How has it hold?

Id prefer hottoys to just use the massive amounts of money we pay to fix sabers and sell them all individually once and for all. Im sure 9 outta 10 collectors will invest in he new ones.
I agree. Since this video I’ve purchased 3 CCFL sabers and they are awesome! Not sure why hot toys can’t figure something out. The sabers put the figure over the top for me!
