@@rito_gamer I've gotten the revan one and that one has the wall cutting effects and blaster but I haven't seen the dueling and lock up effect. If only disney could do any of the stuff hasbro is doing

Hasbro is finally doing things with the sabers that Indy makers have been doing for years. Like the sound effects and different clashing sounds and visuals. Good updates.
I'm definitely purchasing this one as soon as it releases, in large part because it's in the Empire Strikes Back configuration, my favorite config for Vader's lightsaber

I think this is a good option for those who can't afford those advanced high tech lightsabers. It may not have smooth swing and fonts, but at least it has the options for duel and lightsaber lock up. I'm sure it's bright in person. Very cool!
Maybe RGB Sabers, but then you don't get the proper on/off blade effect, its like a flashlight with a white tube at the end of it. Plus these are pretty screen accurate. I have never seen a non-RGB saber for under $280, much less a screen accurate/hero saber. Maybe a NON screen accurate/custom with xeno or neopixel effects could be under $280, but even that is a stretch.
I believe the battle sequence sound is the sound of the Vader and Obi-Wan fight from 'A New Hope'. So maybe learn how to do a choreograph that fight. Much simpler anyway and easier movements. Would be fun to do.
@@rito_gamer Oh yeah the D ring is part of Darth's design so they would have included it anyway, but there's no belt clip out of the box. You seem to imply there was a belt clip but that's not the case.
@@victorlazo238 oh sorry for not being clear, by belt clip I mean a clip on the saber to clip onto the belt. On other sabers there is no covertec, d-ring, or anything else. That’s usually what I mean by belt clip, not an actual clip to go on the belt.

Back when Master Replica had the license 20-years ago they were just display pieces. Now they are trying to be both that and a usable light saber. I will display these on the stands and will get custom plaques made. If I want a proper saber then I will spend £££ and get a top neopixel with all the sounds and fonts.

Vader FX Elite is in stock now on Hasbro Pulse!! Mine is tracking to get delivered 7/29/22!!! Also Leia FX Saber is in stock on Shop Disney. Would be great to get a good review on that. Have seen a few things about that one havaing some issues with hilt build quality and blaster effects. That said, my Force FX sabers are more for display, and the Leia one does look really nice
So you can't have the crystal and the blade installed at the same time. And now you need to remove set screws to access blade and battery removal. Not like it's a lot of work, but just seems like excess steps have been added that don't really need to be.
Great review James! I like the new effects they've added compared to previous Black Series sabers. I already have the Galaxy's Edge Legacy Vader, so I don't feel the need to pic this one up, but it's definitely nice!
In Italy they're selling it for 350€... For what it offers it's not all that big deal. Yeah it're really cool and well manifactured, but considering that I've buyed my xenopixel revan's blade the same price and they aren't on the same level I think that Vader's at 350 it's a scam.
I think you should have put the lightsaber close-up to the camera and then slowly rotated it so we could see it all around. I don't think that D ring is where you hang it from your belt. It usually hangs from the black handle.
Darth Vader is my most faveorite star wars character of all time. I have tons Vader related stuff in my room. My current Vader's lightsaber broke becuase of my old cat run around and accidentally broke it and I also need a new one and THIS is what I have been looking for. Plus I just went to cosplaying festival and I feel kinda bad that I cannot ignite my blade.

Glade i got my Vader saber combo from Disney shop a few months ago for $219, Hasbro keeps raising the cost on these without adding any new innovation like smooth swing or better sound.
Hey can anybody answer why the kyber crystal and the blade cant be in the lightsaber at the same time, it's one or the other, isnt that not realistic? Unless I'm missing something I was very upset that i couldnt leave my crystal in w the blade, can anyone please explain this to me?

Ah well the proto typ you were showing the battle it does is round 1 old Obi VS Vader. The round that is right aftre "Only a master of evil Darth." Again I say the 1 you showed cause as you said that was a demo. Who knows what the actual reliece does.
James, is this the same blade/configuration as the Legacy sabers from the parks? The mechanism and notches look the same. Furthermore, how does the swing/motion electronics, sound and light output/color stack up vs legacy? My biggest complaint with the legacy series is the electronics and blade LEDs

Actually Hasbro has released many different FX Elite sabers with the same functions. So, it’s not the first time we’ve seen something like this.

You can buy a lightsaber with a lot more features than this one for a lot less than $280
@@dl11 You can't buy a Vader saber with a xeno or neopixil core for that price. Even the cheap ones an Aliexpress start at $360.

While I do like the older hilt, I've always preferred the RoTJ Vader hilt, sucks they never do that version outside of the old telescopic Toys.

It' has a ton off features new to licensed sabers that Legacy dont have. It's brighter with smoother ignition and more LED.
