Being a doctor is never easy. The Pressure of the job, pressure doctor put on themselves and the pressure when dealing with the patients. I pray for all the doctors 🙏, and for your too Rebecca🙏
I also agree about putting pressure on ourselves. Most people are really nice and just want to be helped but we feel like we have to do everything perfect.
So glad you posted this video. My assignments this week was when would I refer a client to a psychiatrist. Lol I thought about you. I often wonder if managed care is effective. Sending positive vibes
Hi Rebecca, I just enrolled back into school and I’m really interested in switching to psychiatry. I am 29 now and I know there is a long road ahead of me, do you have any advice to give? I’ve been seeing a lot of positives and negatives about psychiatry and how it is not a science, it is a pseudoscience. What’s your take on that
Thank you for sharing. You made very great points. I am applying to Med School next year. I also want to become a psychiatrist. However, I am skeptical about the student debt. Any advice regarding this?
I know my career path is different from your career. I always wanted to start my own private practice, but now I realize I need to see 6-8 ppl per day. That's way too much demand on my emotional and physical well-being. I can't keep up with that demand. Plus I'm in my 40's now and that's too much demand so I'm not going that route. Then I have to factor in no-shows, cancellations. I can easily see myself stressed out. ✌🏾
@@RebeccaRisks It's typically separate employment or contract work. For instance, I am self-employed with my small private practice and contract with psych facilities for inpatient rounding.

I always wondered how the psychiatrist's mental state is when they are evaluating mine. I hope that makes sense

Despite the stress, pressure and being overworked, do you still think medicine is worth it? Would you do it again?
Escape the monotonous outpatient game! I like the variety of inpatient w/ a little outpatient clinic. All of either is way too taxing!
Interesting, thanks for the idea but I never hear of jobs like this it’s usually one or the other.

@DrHamiltonESmith interesting 🤔 thank you for explaining. I have heard of people combining 2 different jobs and I see why now.
