    2:29 Wheel of Compute. Also a suggestion for the show would be for the guests to run 3DMark (whatever the free version is) before coming on the show, then run 3DMark again after the upgrade. That would give use viewers some perspective of how big the upgrades are and which aspect got the most increase.
    I know this is not the recommended way of doing it so Greg probably won't suggest it on the show, but he could've ran dual PSU. Use his 550w as primary, get a Corsair CX430 or something for his GPU. I'm currently running a dual PSU setup with an Antec EA750 and Corsair CX430 due to the Zotac RTX 3090 Extreme Holo requiring 850w minimum.

I'm going from a Pentium G3258 CPU OC'd from 3.2 Ghz to 4.2 Ghz on the stock cooler, 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM and a Geforce GTX 750 Ti GPU to: an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU, 32 gigs of DDR4 RAM and a Geforce RTX 3060 12GB GPU. Good choice on parts. My question would be if the 3600 would hold back that 6950xt. As far as a platform upgrade though, he could likely easily grab a 5600x3d, 5700x, or 5800x3d and install it with a bios flash to the board. That would perk that system up a bit more.
    My only critique would be skip the extensions and pick up the Corsair 850 watt psu instead of the maingear. The maingear just doesn’t scream reliability to me, which you want with that beefy gpu.

    🤩BEST EPISODE SO FAR🤩
    I myself have several RDNA2 cards in 3 ALL AMD systems
    including a 6950 XT and that was the absolute best possible solution for this budget! He will have a lot of fun with this🙂👌👍 ( My comment was purely on the component choices in relation to the budget he had to choose from to upgrade the largest item !)

    • @anthonylong5870
      @anthonylong5870 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it was a bad choice. His CPU is going to bottleneck that gpu.....He should have gone with a lower level gpu and a 5600X CPU for the same price

      @@anthonylong5870 My comment was purely on the component choices in relation to the budget he had to choose from to upgrade the largest item. He can easly balance the system as a whole out of his own pocket, If you consider that he got the biggest item with a graphics card and a new power supply for free! p.s.
      I've been a semi-professional gaming / workstation rig builder for almost exactly 27 years, so I can assure you I know exactly what I'm talking about. In my YT channel under channel description, you can find 2 of my currently 3 ALL AMD systems listed that I use😉 should you be interested😌in checking out my component selection for a well-balanced system. 🙂👍Greetings from Germany Torsten

    Hey, I had the same thing happen to me with my cpu extensions. I had a single extension for the 8 pin cpu power connection but the new 4 pin addition to that was not. It's up an d out of the way. Even the extension cables up there are hidden by my radiator so it's not really a big deal. More noticeable on the gpu, but like you all said, gotta work with what you got.

    This is a proper gear UP! Platform is perfectly fine and he went with a useful upgrade plus a snack! lol I still don't know why people avoid that $500 intel deal WITH the video card, it's been available for a loooong time and I have had several customers ask for it and no issues. I even got one for my Wife! Great video as always!!!!

    I have had this case for 3 years the only issues I have with it are, lack of usb ports, yes theres one A port and one C port but I would prefer 2 A ports, also no reset button so if pc crashes I have to hold power button down to cut power then press it again to power back on.

    having the same case jamming six sata drives in there (one of which a 3'5" mechanical) was not necessarily the right call for trying to get the cables behind that back panel either
