    This is fantastic! I'm in the middle of a large project and (of course) decided on a font change. Using paragraph styles will really help, especially to deal with future changes (because you know that's going to happen) :) Thank you!

    Holy moly, this has driven me nuts for years, and as usual you are the best most indepth photoshop guru. Thanks a bunch Jesús!
    Here's an alternative hack if your libraries hack doesn't work.
    1. Set font of paragraph style to 10.
    2. Set the paragraph that has a transform applied to it, to also have that same paragraph style.
    3. Open the character panel
    4. Free transform on the layer with the previous transform on it, and adjust size letting go of your mouse, and narrow in on it so that your font updates and eventually reads 10. It helps to zoom in and click then hold control for finer movements inbetween at the very end as you are moving between 9.9 and 10.1 font size.
    Look at the transform amount that you've done, and you can apply that same amount to any other layer that was created the same way, but you will have to repeat this process for any layers you transformed at a different time / wasn't a duplicate of that original transform property.

    Hi, I'm working on some team photos and will be putting different last names and numbers on each, I had a plugin that allowed me to replace the text in a text layer and maintain the text box width no matter how many characters where in the name but it no longer works in cc2021. Is there a way to manually do this in cc2021 or with an action?

    As desktop publisher I say: If you can, do this kind of stuff in Illustrator, or better, in InDesign.
    This kind of work is not where Photoshop is meant to use for.

    • @PoisonedAl
      @PoisonedAl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Do remember that the license for Photoshop is a lot cheaper and using Illustrator is like shoving pins under your fingernails.

    • @DaGauntlett
      @DaGauntlett 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PoisonedAl Thats why I said: If you can.
      Even Illustrator is for other purposes and vector based (Photoshop is pixel based).
      But is in text way better. You cant compare them.

    • @digitalembic814
      @digitalembic814 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PoisonedAl I find it just the opposite. Illustrator is SO easy to use, then I find I need to do something in Photoshop that is not just photo manip. Can't even draw a proper stroked rectangle! And don't get me started on the pen tool in Ps...

    this is great! do you have any videos on InDesign or illustrator(even though this is the "photoshop training channel")? thanks, I'm in Highschool studying graphic design and i really enjoy using photoshop, illustrator and -indesign- . this channel taught me a ton about photoshop that i find really interesting and helpful but i was wondering if there are cool things that are unique to indesign and/or illustrator?
    also, I know photoshop is better at editing photos and illustrator is generally better at drawing and illustrating but i was wondering when i should use illustrator over photoshop? a lot of my peers are sold for one or the other and hardly ever use whichever they dont prefer but i think they both have they're perks over the other and are both applicable to a task.
    in short, when and where do i use one over the other and how can i make my work more efficient (or just cooler)?
    im a newbie with indesign so any tips are appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jesus, thanks for this very informative video. When trying it out I noticed that the paragraph styles are only valid for the file I create them in. Is there away to copy them to another file, or to save to a library?

    • @DrumminDrew0
      @DrumminDrew0 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just open a new file and in the paragraph styles menu Load Paragraph Style and select the file you want to load from. If you have a lot spread over several files, you can load them all into a blank file and save it as a library just to hold your styles.

    Thank you, Jesùs, for another helpful and informative tutorial. I have a question: When you called your Keyboard Shortcut document and "Infographic", I immediately thought "Illustrator". Does Ps offer more options for creating this infographic than AI does? Why did you choose Ps instead of AI to create this infographic? Thanx, again, for "another very exiting tutorial"! 😀

    • @digitalembic814
      @digitalembic814 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personally I would do it in Illustrator. Photoshop's only advantage is that it is cheaper if you don't have the full suite. Some people are just more familiar and comfortable with Photoshop.

    Hi mr. Ramirez - I have an Idea for you (maybe) to make a tutorial on. A while ago you made a fantastic video on how to make a bottle transparent. That was an image of a bottle taken og a white background. Now I was looking on Adobe Stock to find an image of a jar - and I ended up with one that was not an image, but a vector AI/EPS that cannot be openet as a picture in PS, but only as a layer. I thought that a vector like that would be an advantage, but I found that the checkerboard background comes along as pixels, and I found it quite a challenge to remove them. And I am not quite satisfied with the result. I is a jar very much like this: stock.adobe.com/dk/images/jar-glass-closed-by-golden-cap-for-jam-vector-glossy-empty-glass-bottle-for-storaging-breakfast-sweet-nutrition-transparency-background-glassware-template-realistic-3d-illustration/307250468

    no need for the hack...here is a simple way
    You need to make the text 'paragraph text'. Select and activate the layer that contains your text from the layers palette. With the layer active, goto Type > Convert to Paragraph text. You should now be able to click into the text and see a bounding box that can be resized without resizing or rescaling the text inside.M
