Jesus, I've been killing myself cleaning up white halos when knocking out product, objects and people from backgrounds for years. I wished I'd watched this video when you first published it in April when I had some outlining to do. Keep up the good work on explaining ALL the techniques, steps and nuances when using Photoshop.
This is amazing, I was compositing on photoshop and could not remove the fringing from a cut out, so I came back to this channel looking for a potential tutorial and you posted it 2 minutes ago ! Thank you
OMG. I have spent hours trying to find ways to get better selections. Countless hours online seeking for the magic slider that was going to get me closer. This was by far the best tool I have seen. I am excited to try them in my projects. Thank you so much for this. You are the best!
Wow! This tutorial is just out of the world. There are many tools in Photoshop that we don't know how to use it smartly and you always shed the light on them. Thank you very much for doing this, we really appreciate your extraordinary knowledge about photoshop.
You literally saved me a ton of work hours doing cut outs! So far I did it with the refine mask tool, but it never worked perfectly. Thanks so much for posting this tutorial!
Wow... I had very difficult masking problem and by watching your video I was able to immediately fix it. I had tried everything I knew of and had no idea that these filters were here. Thanks so much for a great training tutorial. I look forward to watching more of your training clips!!!!
AMAZING. there are SOOO many tools in photoshop that I have NOT even touched before, but I see how FAST it will increase my abilities to do MORE!!! Thank you!!!
I have been retouching for over 35 years and neither myself or any of my colleagues knew about this one. Thankyou for sharing as maximum and minimum have been around as long as I can remember and now we have a great use for them and likely on a daily basis.
Thank you! I've watched about 5 videos that use this filter, but didn't take the time to explain as concisely and clearly as you have. Now... on to figure out how to explain to design students how to use Adjustment Layers! - Maryanne
I learned about this filter, and also some new keyboard shortcuts, also the blur. The little things add up- this was a fantastic help. ( I did not know about the expand/ contract either, or exactly what fringe was). What a great tool. I am sure my work will be easier and better.
Never used these filters and I have been using Photoshop since 1991! I will be using this vs. reducing white matte that I was using before. And, I love that this keeps me working non-destructively, too!
I had actually heard of these filters quite sometime ago, but FORGOT ABOUT THEM!!! LOL!!! And your details was simpler and more direct than what I remember! Many thanks!
I always wondered what those minimum and maximum settings did.... NOW I KNOW - MANY THIS COULD HAVE SAVED HOURS OF WORK IN THE PAST!!!! THANKS JESUS!!!!
If I had seen this video earlier, I wouldn't have spent so much time adjusting the feather, contrast and shift edge options to simply cut out my subject!! Amazing tutorial!
you make something looks complicated become easy for everyone including a beginner like me. That's why i subscribed. and yeah.. forgot to mention, your clear english is very excellent and easy to understand for me - not a native english speaker. Love you
Once again ... GREAT STUFF! The filters were new and will be very useful. I wish I had them about a week ago while I tediously tried to cut a flock of birds from a blue sky. This would have sped things up and given better results.
A fantastic addition to a retoucher's toolkit for dealing with fringing issues. I've never used them before, but they will be my first go-to option when I encounter a fringe issue. Thank you for posting this tutorial!!
This is great. I never knew what these filters do. As usual your tutorials hit the spot. I have been having trouble with fringing and fully expect these filters to solve my issues. Please continue addressing little known, but, highly useful tricks in photoshop.

Very nice and useful, many people would have been ignorant, certainly a great tool to implement, your tutorial with various examples makes it easy to understand and implement the same in the project.. Great
I always used the select - Modify - Selection with expand/contract and feather. That way tends to be trial and error based. This is a way more precise way of selecting.
I've used the minimum filter a few times. It's pretty good. But as usual you've explained it in a way that helps you get the best results. Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
Wow brilliant can’t wait to try this. Masks are the bane of my life when it comes to fringing. I’ve never been successful with the select and mask features, I don’t know why, they just don’t seem to work for me. I shall watch the rest of your masking videos now. Thank you for your brilliant work overall.
You just saved millions of hours for retouchers who manually spend hours removing fringes! Good job!
Yeah, I wish I could get my time back lol
Thank you, Waas Wedrer!
