Part of what I really love about Ahsoka this episode is her learning to see Anakin as her Master again and not just as the man he has become (Vader). Getting rid of that guilt she felt for not being there for him and realizing the good that was once in him is still within her. It really reminded me of the Luke vs. Vader fight, despite everything Vader has done, Luke still could see the light/good in his Father and I think Ahsoka needed to learn that as well. I've seen some complain (🙄) about this being just member berries and didn't propel the plot but for me personally it was just such a great character episode for Ahsoka, especially if you've seen Clone Wars and everything she went through with Anakin. 100/10 episode and VISUALLY probably the best live action Star Wars to date.
Absolutely! The shedding of the guilt and re-learning to see him as Anakin and not simply as Vader. What a great episode! Great analysis too btw! We’re lucky to be Star Wars fans during such a lively time in the Star Wars galaxy (and beyond now too!)
I think what I love most is that Anakin has control over both Dark and the Light sides of the Force. He is the Chosen One, and he is all about balancing both after all. I love that even as a Force Ghost, he still maintained his unorthodox teaching methods.
Extremely unorthodox! But that's why we love Anakin! haha
I thought the Fog of War was used perfectly. It really expressed the chaos and confusion Ahsoka felt on the battlefield during the clone wars and added to the thematics of this being a vision/dream-like state. Visually I thought this was a perfect episode.
True! The cloudiness was certainly an intentional choice. Definitely going to reference you comment in the podcast as well 🙂
Initially I wasn't sure if I liked the fog, but with this explanation I think it does even more for the scenes!
This episode was absolutely incredible. One of the best Star Wars things I’ve ever seen. Seeing a live action recreation of The Clone Wars and seeing Hayden as Anakin as well as a live action young Ahsoka, Luke and Rex was all something I’ve wanted to see for as long as I can remember and it was handled unbelievably well. I hope we see more things like this. I’d love to see a live action Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Luke and Rex talking. As a massive Star Wars fan, this was everything I’ve ever wanted to see and more.
Couldn’t agree more Daniel 😄 It was unbelievable to see it in live action #ThankYouDaveFiloni
I was really hoping to see Obi-Wan here too!
@@ItsKuyaJoey same lol but I get why he wasn't here, it wouldn't really fit in
I think that this was Asoka's Jedi Trial...that's how she came out Asoka the white.
Now that she is Ahsoka the White, is she the embodiment of The Daughter? Is Anakin The Father as he seems to have total control over his light and dark sides. Shout out to the actress who played young Ahsoka..she nailed it.
That could be, which also begs the question: who is the brother? 👀
@@HothHangout Capt Carson. 😄😄
What a beautiful episode! My Clone Wars heart cried and is happy❤ and seeing the Purgill in Live Action was amazing, I wish I could watch it in theaters... Greetings from Germany❤
One of the best Star Wars moments in history. We wish we could have seen it in theaters as well! Thanks for watching all the way from Germany :)
Agreed! It was all so wonderful! Thanks for the love from Germany!!
As someone who loves watching people be actually surprised about big reveals, I really appreciate how most of your predictions turned out to be wrong ❤😂
lmfaooo same I'm like nah Bruh😂
SAME! 😆
It was him ... he referred to his and Luke's last duel ... Luke "I won't fight you father " ... ashoka "I won't fight you " Anakin "I've heard that before " lol ... peak star wars ✨️
Plus the fact that Jacen and Hera could hear it...which is a.point so many seem to miss
Hayden Christiansen back on star wars I almost cried dude still knows how to be Anakin and still got the moves!
So, the way I see it - it was Anakin teaching Ahsoka through the force how to overcome her childhood war time trauma and let go of her guilt. It was handled to perfection.
100% agree. Such a profound and beautiful arc.
The Clone Wars battle that they went back to first was the Battle of Ryloth (from the series), hence all the Twi'Leks. Remember at the beginning of the episode, Ahsoka was given command of a fighter wing up in space and her inability to listen, coupled with her headstrong attitude, got a lot of the clones killed, hence why she made the comment about a lot of them dying being her fault
Gave us nothing?!? Ahsoka, having dumped a load of baggage from her past, has now transformed into Ahsoka the White!! Her whole demeanor has changed. Gone is the brooding person she's been all season and she's smiling a lot now!!! We were also shown just how deeply Baylon was able to get into her head during their fight by dredging up all of that baggage and guilt, and uncentering her, which is why she lost. I think we were given a whole lot!!!
Its amazing how throughout all the star wars weve had, people seem to forget a big part of jedi. The master and the student. This is literally a journey for ahsoka , taught by anikan, to LET GO of the things she fears, i.e turning to the darkside, like her master. Only knowing war and death, but anakin tries to teaxh her she not only is herself, but has the teachings of other masters all the way back to Yoda. There are quite a few lessons in here ive noticed from rewatching. And i almost seem to be able to come up woth another lesson each time i see it. Really deep stuff, along with some nice fan service.
Those are the best kind of shows, when we can take away something new each time we watch :) Very well said.
You are right. We get caught up in seeing cool things that sometimes we gotta step back and look at the meaning behind it all.
that Alderaan shirt is absolutely great and i need it lol
Saw it on an Instagram ad and had to buy it 😅
Great reaction!!! Did u noticed young Ahsoka is also Young Gamora❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah Ariana Greenblatt is fantastic! She also plays the daughter in the recent Barbie movie. She’s had so many great roles recently!
Her acting resume is getting pretty stacked!
The answer that you are looking for is in star Wars Rebel eps. i forgot which one. she was carrying the burden of her master because she love him as a brother and her friend. and she believes that if she had stayed with him she could have saved him. but no Anikan needed to become Darth vader to know the dark side to be able to balance it. HE IS NOW THE BALANCE KEEPER OF THE FORCE. and Ohsoka is his one and only student. that is why he said I have given you everything in me you are MY LEGACY, AND MORE.then she said you will become more powerful and dangerous then you know. then he said TO HER, SO THAT IS WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT, THEM YOU WILL DIE. strike me down and become the dark side of my legacy, or live and represent the light side of my legacy. Remember what Baylan said to her. your legacy and your masters legacy is one of death and destruction. that was when Dave focused on her eyes when she had the lightsaber at his throw she final saw what this phase of the lesson was about. honor me. and live to change that perception of me, and you, as my one and only padwa. and she said I want to live. then he switched back to Anikan and said there is hope for you yet. just like he said to her when he accepted her as his padwa in Clone Wars. That is why at the end she said it's better than going nowhere. because she was not going anywhere before living in self-pity and guilt. now she is smiling again, and her looks is white like the daughter
An excellent breakdown here. Definitely going to reference your comment for our podcast episode tomorrow 🙂
Holy cow! What a comment. Thank you for the insight. This is what I love about the Star Wars fandom!
@@HothHangout HAVE YALL noticed his eye color was not one of the Sith, which was yellowish, but red like the father.
Ariana Greenblatt is eating good 😂Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars all within DAYS of each other.
Years you mean..
Thanks, Ben! Thanks, Joey! Thanks, Alex! 👤 The actor who played 'young Ahsoka' is *Ariana* *Greenblatt* who you might remember as 'young Gamora' from AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018) or as 'Sasha' from BARBIE (2023). #HothHangout #StarWars #DaveFiloni #Ahsoka
Oh yeah! Great catch Aunt Vesuvi! She is so talented! Young Ahsoka felt so accurate to the Clone Wars show!
@@HothHangout Her star is rising. 🌟
I recognized her from the Barbie movie as well as young Nina from the movie adaptation of "In The Heights" She has quite the resume at such a young age!
@@ItsKuyaJoey Aaaaaah, yes... I loved IN THE HEIGHTS (2021)!
@@auntvesuvi3872They did SO good with the movie. The huge dance numbers were phenomenal
No interpretation needed. It's 100% Anakins force ghost form helping Ashoka along. You can't convince me otherwise until Filoni says it isn't. 🤣
9:39 Btw, did you know that according to “Bespin Bulletin” there was a fight scene shot between Anakin (as Hayden Christensen) and Ahsoka (as Savannah Steyn instead of Ariana Greenblatt, at least for that scene) on Mustafar in an alternate-reality-like setting during the "world-between-world like" moments, which they said was cut from the actual episode? In that scene Anakin would have showed her that she couldn't have changed his fate to become Vader even if she were there at that point, which would have taken away a lot of her guilt of her not having been there and not being able to save him, resulting in the now more light-hearted Ahsoka. They cut that scene, maybe cause it wasn't really a memory and/or cause Anakin's message/lesson was a different one? Though I still hope they would release it as a separate video on YT or sth like that, cause I would really like to see what that scene (and Savannah Steyn as Ahsoka) would have looked like and it also explains a bit better imo why Ahsoka is more enlightened and happy at the end.
Hmm very interesting! The episode as we got it did seem to focus much more on life and death and Ahsoka’s perception of Anakin as opposed to specifically addressing addressing her guilt. Hopefully we get a look into that deleted scene someday.
@@HothHangout Maybe that's why they changed it, cause they wnated to focus on sth else than her guilt, maybe?
@@firecat4529Star Wars theory has a video out now about what he thinks was the lesson that anakin was teaching her and it is really promising
Also I hope Dave will comment on it in an interview when the first season is done that would be dope
oh i hope that gets "leaked" at some point in the future!
Hayden showing why Anakin is the most iconic charcater (also Darth vader) in entire universe .
A lot of reactors haven't realised this is after episode 6 anikin it's him back to the light after vader died. Some think it's a trick or something else but nope this is anikin force ghost him
You know it's good when the credits come up and there's a collective, "NO!"
I don't feel left out not watching rebels or the clone wars where it's the same as when we watched Star Wars back in 1977,78 or 79 when Luke said you fought in the clone wars? I know everyone in the audience were asking, What are the clone wars? I don't think it altered their lives by not watching a series to fill in the gaps. We didn't lose sleep by not knowing, what are bounty hunters in star wars? It all gets realized or understood in time. Good watch along.
A good point! Thanks for watching 🙂
understandable but still you gotta watch both of them especially Clone Wars it's absolutely amazing
Great reaction, you 3. It was a very special moment in Star Wars.
I'm very proud of the one who gave it a 10, friend, trust me, the force is really intense in you!
Thanks friend 😄 May the force be with you!
Remember, Sabine lost her helmet in the Forrest.
“I won’t fight you”
“I’ve heard that before”
To me, that’s the greatest clue that it IS in fact Anakin. It might not be, but I genuinely believe that the entire thing is Anakin, an incredibly powerful Jedi, creating an entire world around Ahsoka to guide her through her last lesson.
A great point. Definitely alluding to the ROTJ fight with Luke.
@@HothHangout exactly. It’s an allusion to a fight she was not present for, and would have no direct knowledge of. I just don’t see why a mental projection, or phantom would do that. But Anakin, one with the Force, and with all of his memories, would.
my guy called mauldaloriands death watch, that was siege of mandalore s7 clone wars come on
The Mauldalorians are actually former Death Watch members. Yes, they are technically separate groups but the Mandalorians who were Mauldalorians were once Death Watch members before Maul assumed power from Pre Vizsla.
4:28, what Ahsoka said , Luke said in Return of the Jedi before he cut of his fathers hand..
taking on the mortis father roll
It was Aniken.
The season isn't over, 3 more shows. Haven't you learn how these shows work yet??????????
Skipped so much!😴
Gave... you... nothing??!
Yikes.
there are "Adult Movies" with better story arcs AND better acting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
