So, I was *marginally* in the ballpark at the end when it came to Anakin's lesson. lol So, forget that! Nerdist has posted a brilliant breakdown of the lesson that I encourage everyone to watch! Obviously, watch my video first :) But for some fantastic insight, you can find the nerdist video here: th-cam.com/video/k0TobjxuCCU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Bj0OAnu8Az9LNV4l
"It's beautiful. I've stared at this for five hours now."
No words. Just happiness.
☝️
The actress who played young Ahsoka, Ariana Greenblatt, also played young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War. She also starred alongside Adam Driver in 65, and played Sasha in Barbie. Her next big project will be the Borderlands movie, where she will be playing Tiny Tina. She’s a very talented young lady and feels very natural in everything she’s played so far.
If it was also her, not sure if it was a stunt double, can we also praise the lightsaber fighting done by young ahsoka during the seige flashback
Ariana was also in Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical, In the Heights
And now the two halves of Anakin Skywalker have been joined together in one PERFECTLY blended depiction.
I know I liked his performance in Obi-Wan, but this just hit different. Really stole the episode!
I lost it when Captain Rex had that voice cameo
This episode was incredible! The young actress playing Ahsoka portrayed ‘older Ahsoka in little Ahsoka body’ SO WELL!! She had wonderful chemistry with Hayden.
Speaking of, HC once again proves he is the GOAT when it comes to lightsabers. Every stride, swing, spin he makes is full of intention and aggression! He makes the fights feel realistic and true! Can’t wait to see what’s to come next in this series!
Hope you’re gradually feeling better, Jeremy! 🙂
OMG, Disney/Lucasfilm just NEEDS to give Dave Filoni his own trilogy already, am I right?!
And WITH Kevin Kiner doing the scoring, as well! EPIC! ❤
I loved everything about this that everyone has already mentioned but I have to give Dave extra props for sneaking in the "Senator Organa" name drop. The fact that Leia was covering for Hera made me SO happy. That's so in-character for her to take Hera's mission seriously, and to me anyway it kind of indicates that she still remembers having worked with Ezra during the rebellion. The attention to small detail is part of what's making this show such a great experience to watch and that's probably been my favorite "wink/nudge" moment so far
Oh that reference was great. It’s completely in line with Leia’s character and feeds into why she would create the Resistance.
I cried like a baby throughout. Dave Filoni is the absolute GOAT. Fantastic! ❤🎉😍
omg I was waiting for your reaction!
TBH - I was lucky to get this one out! Everything that could go wrong…😅
Sick and slept through the drop time, mic stopped working, camera stopped working (had to improvise), editing software crashed…. It’s like the universe made me earn this episode because it knew how much I’d love it😁
@@OneProtagonist worth the wait your reactions are so genuine it brings joy. Glad it worked out.
@TheLia923 😊😊
19:30 Perhaps Anakin in Clone Wars was more jovial because he was an adolescent teenager, like 19 years of age? Anakin in the movies, he was either the brat racer we saw in Phantom Menace Jar Jar first prequel, nor the young adult trained under Obiwan who fell in love with Pad. I believe this version of him was Ahsoka's projection of Anakin, the way she remembered him when she was only 14. His Clone Wars persona was frozen in time in her mind. Haden did a great job amalgamating, as you say, the two three timelines to fit his animation version.
This episode was fantastic from start to finish. Hayden Christensen was fantastic in this episode, and seeing live action Clone Wars was AMAZING! I bet we see Anakin again before the season is over
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
This episode was beautiful. The cinematography was perfect. Seeing this all in live action was exciting and tear enducing.
Hayden knocked it out of the park!
Also, I knew the purrgil would come into play!
This episode was honesty history of Star Wars. I loved the flashbacks/visions but the first one is the one I liked the most with Ahsoka expressing her guilt over the dead clones and her conversation with Anakin telling him how she didnt train for this. Wealready know, but seeing her here in live action hammers the point even more that well, Ahsoka was a child soldier. And we already knew, but seeing it here to me it just illustrates it perfectly how fucked up that was and how traumatic it was.
So... About the age of the actress playing young Ahsoka... She's actually 16, so she's not that far from Ahsoka's age at the end. But I get you, I was on a similar boat, I can kinda let it go because as you've said this is kinda in Ahsoka's head, i justify as this might be how looking back on it she sees herself as at that time, with Anakin.
I hope we get more with Anakin in another episode. Those two need a calm longer conversation with Anakin as a Force Ghost in the physical world. Perhaps now that Ahsoka seems is more at peace with herself that can happen.
I would possibly go full order 66 in order to make another conversation between them happen.
Possibly.😅
"If you don't fight, you die."
💖
Awesome!
💯
Hayden was great.
I thought he was just awful in Attack of the Clones.
I loved this episode.
I think that this was the first of Ahsoka's trials, just as Qui-Gon sending Yoda to go through his trials by the Priestesses. I do believe his first trial was against dark Yoda as his shadow self. The episode was called Shadow Warrior, maybe the lesson she was learning was to reject her shadow (which was represented by Anakin). She was a child during the Clone Wars and only knew fighting. You saw her struggle with that through the Clone Wars and that's how she's approached teaching Sabine. It's all war to her. I think her serenity during the end portion shows her as a little more enlightened because she realized she can just choose to live and not just fight and die.
But that's my theory. FEEL BETTER!!!
I little bit obsessed
I think the lesson is that she is not part of the legacy of violence and destruction that she felt so guilty about. She is not or potentially can become darth Vader. Because anakin was much more than Vader. She had to continue to fight the good fight that anakin Skywalker stood for
I ❤️ this interpretation so much.
Hayden really just brings a whole different level to lightsaber dueling. I mean just look at 7:53 during that wide shot. It looks like art. Anakin is supposed to be the greatest warrior of the Jedi, so I’m glad he does the dueling justice. We were so lucky to have him come back.
Yeah, I absolutely love how much Hayden (and Ewan!) commit. He hasn’t lost a step!
Ahsoka Taco
Nah he will be back as anakin in other projects
I *really* want to believe that!
