I know that Luigi was cut from Mario 64 due to memory issues but couldn't he be unlockable character after beating big boo's haunt

"Sakurai went ahead and implemented them anyways." Seems like a lot of success can happen when someone does this.
One of the things I love from the original Smash Bros is the visual effects of the impacts from attacks. There is a sort of slow down effect that happens where both the attacker and their target stop moving for a split second before the latter goes flying off. Gave the fights a little more "oomf".
Additionally, things like Samus' fully charged beam actually causes an explosive effect at the area of impact, contrary to later Smash games where the ball of energy abruptly disappears when it touches the target.
The attacks definitely had a larger impact but they also had a larger launch too which may be why it had such impact. Something that I do miss I say
He could've been working on the concept of Kirby's Return to Dreamland while making Smash 64, and had the idea for the sword during that time.
He does love his Kirby after-all it's his pride and joy.
Good theory. Maybe this was the case and HAL revived the idea down the road?
there is a mod called smash remix and it out new modes and new characters including bowser in smash 64,its great i hope you try it out!

Yeah nothing new for Smash Bros 64 came from it since the it was only for iQue games and Smash 64 wasn't a part of the iQue
Fox supposed final smash sound is used as victory pose on Japanese Smash. I think...
It's a common misconception that the original game was "Dragon King: The Fighting Game". It was actually "Ryuo: The Fighting Game", and Ryuo being a location in Japan. People just mistranslated it as "Dragon King".
Ryuo is short for Ryūō-chō which mean Dragon King. So I think it was a proper transition actually. It directly translated by Nintendo as that in an the interview

The only way to know for sure is to see its kanji spelling. If its 竜王 then its dragon king

Kirby’s final smash probably would have been the crash ability, a full screen move
When I saw this game back when I was fifth grader of my elementary school, I used to imagine a DS remake of it just like how Super Mario 64 got a DS remake
(If there was really a DS remake maybe the cut characters would've been able to appear)
Such a good game, I remember always playing as the pokemon characters since I was obsessed with that franchise as a kid

kirbys final smash may have been crash
I doubt that Zero Suit Samus would have been in Smash 64 since Zero Mission wouldn't even be announced to the public until 4 years after SB64 came out. The would have had to have some insane access to other game development before their own game was even a success to not only get the knowledge of ZSS, but also to be allowed to implement it in the game.
Well wouldn't have to be Zero Suit Samus, but just Samus without her suit kinda like in the best endings for Metroid 1 and Super Metroid at the time.

I wonder what Bowser and Dedede would have looked like as low-poly Smash 64 fighters.. Or if having larger, detailed characters like those in 4 player mode may have been a bit much for the N64? (Granted, Donkey Kong made it, but his design might have been easier to simplify.)
Edit: I see the fan game Smash Remix managed to include Bowser, so looks like anything is possible given enough time!
Bowser I imagine might have looked more like either Mario Party or SM64's version. King Dedede maybe like his appearance in Crystal Shard.

I remember reading somewhere that Pit from Kid Icarus was originally planned to be in Smash 64, but due to the overwhelming popularity of Pokemon at the time, his character was removed and replaced with Jigglypuff.
Sakurai never mentioned Pit that early in the series as playable. It's more a rumour
9:54 I think that it most likely would've been more of an Olimar/Alph or Bowser Jr./Koopalings situation where all of the Star Fox members were just costumes that Fox could choose. I'm pretty sure Luigi was one of the first Echoes.

I think that Kirby's unused voice clips may have been used for a cut SSB1 Final Smash involving the Crash Copy Ability. That would make more sense than using the Cook Copy Ability pre-Brawl.
My theory on the 4 scrapped characters:
Instead of the four unlockables we got in smash 64 I think these 4 scrapped characters would have been the 4 unlockables originally, but due to time constraints and all that jazz, they probably got scrapped, i think bowser would have had Luigi’s slot, Marth had captain falcon’s slot, dedede had ness’ slot and finally mewtwo had jigglypuff’s slot
Personally, I think Kirby’s final smash would’ve been the CRASH power.

Version differences I might since that might tie into Cut Content. Clones... that depends on how it worked within the development cycle, so it's a possibility. I still have to do more research and scripting for a Melee episodes as this one would be a much bigger episode.

Given the time period, i would guess Kirby's final would have been either Crash or Mic Kirby. If not then maybe fighter Kirby with megaton punch. Or even a Kirby 64 fusion ability
If I'm correct if you leave the game on the title screen for long enough it boots up "New" as the tutorial video stage.
It loads actually completely different map which is totally flat (and not accessible by the user)

10:02 Also, to make the costumes work, it would make the three characters the same height as Fox. Here are each character’s heights in Star Fox 64:
Fox is 1,73 SM.
Falco is 1,88 SM.
Peppy is 1,70 SM.
Slippy is 1,67 SM.
Since Falco is *very* tall in the Star Fox series, I guess it would have been “a little” weird to see him the same height as his teammates.
Thankfully Sakurai showed us gameplay of Dragon King.

@@newhandlesaredumb Technically cartridges don't have space limits, since they're hardware (In this case, they're part of the console). Super Smash Bros 64's size is 16 megabyte, not much (Compared to Conker's Bad Fur Day, the biggest N64 game, and its 64MB cartridge).

So uh.. this is just Beta64 and tetrabit gaming's videos with some theories/filler.. I'm a bit disappointed considering the only reason WHY people like cut content is because of the nintendo gigaleak giving us more unused info. It's the sad truth, but there are bigger and better videos talking about all of this that we already know, that are older and have way more views.
I don't have really have real filler in this I say. It was straight facts with maybe one or two theorizes in there. Also Cut Content has had long popularity prior to the Gigaleak too.
And so what if some are bigger and more popular? Viewcount and subs don't count for everything as people have to start somewhere as they did too.
But unless I discover something absolutely new (which there isn't), this is being presented by me, in my way, in a way that people have enjoyed which is in great detail and style I would say too.
It's understood however if this wasn't what you wanted as you want absolutely up to the minute new info and quite frankly some things are not going to be that as I document and not look for new undiscovered stuff. I'm a video editor, not coder or someone who can hack their way through. People find things while organize and document videos on them.

@@StafkiGTN No worries. Sorry for the long winded reply there. As for what you are saying, I have been to an extent with Mario and Zelda so far. However, I was already doing Cut Content prior to that considering my old Pokemon Cut Content, so me branching to other series was always the plan.
Now I am still doing gigaleak related stuff too considering Zelda Cut Content is ongoing for example. Anyways I hope you keep watching through my series and channel here. Thank you for watching
