Am I crazy? I could've sworn a giant Goomba is, like... the first thing you encounter in Supermassive Galaxy.
It is, and I even remember being surprised you can attack the things with your spin-attack.
Maybe the scaling % is different between the unused and used versions? Or some other coding difference?
9:52 the white outfit is used, it's what mario/luigi wear when they have a star. it's just basically imposible to see because of the star effect.
the other one though? no idea.
I'd say the white outfit could count specifically because it's so obscured when it is used. You never see it this clearly in regular gameplay.
As for the other outfit, my guess is that it's a placeholder for Casino Dealer Luigi, though I'm not sure how likely that is.

10:11 I know I sound like a nerd and all but this was actually used in the game, just in the form of the Mini mushroom
-In SMB2, the only difference I see with the Albatoss and Pow Block is that the used is faster than the full.
-The Scripulous Fingore was used in that “nuh-uh” meme, and it’s crazy to think that it was meant to be an NSMB DS enemy.
-The “ominous cloud” in NSMBW was used in 8-1.
-I thought there WERE Goombas in SMG2’s Supermassive Galaxy.
-The YTer Smashy did some experiments with Bowser’s Fury’s Mega Mushroom sometime ago.
Scripulous Fingore is not a NSMB cut enemy, it’s a fanmade hoax

@@Chris-mc2dt He said it with a straight face and voice, so that made me think it was legit.
The Albatoss and Pow Block have been datamined and found to have glitched animations, so they skip a frame. It mostly just makes them look faster, as you say, but that's the REASON they look faster, because animations in the DDP engine always process at the same speed.
Pretty sure that jumping box capture from Mario Odyssey was turned into the frog in the end. I theorize they were just messing around with a capture that allowed you to jump better, and THEN they thought about "What creature would fit this?"
I believe that's already how they designed a lot of the captures in the game, with gameplay first and design second.
You know every time I watch these ones I wish you would talk about unused enemies from Yoshi games instead
DUDE! I still haven’t really played the original Mario galaxy because as a kid at the beginning I died to the electricity and Mario turned into a skeleton and it TERRIFIED me as a kid….

Somone might have pointed this out given the number of times you mentioned the seemingly weird naming of the NSMB series, but it might be that NSMB is technically a handheld serries (since the 1st NSMB was on DS, and NSMB2 was on 3DS), and that the Wii and Wii U versions were actually the offshoots. [Insert meme of guy tapping his head]

3:00 for unused levels I don’t remember what they originally called it but there is concept art for it but it’s from Mario Galaxy. To me it’s really interesting

You know, it's a shame these enemies. It haven't made into any of Mario game. I just hope they make it some future Mario games. It would be awesome though if they were in future Mario games
I’d love to see people do more on the beta on Super Mario Sunshine. There’s a lot of interesting ideas and elements that were cut or changed I’d love to know more about.
Tramplin’ Stu is a pretty cool enemy. If they got rid of the eye on his forehead and made his weak spot a bulge it would’ve been less creepy. I wonder what his purpose would’ve been in the game, especially as his internal name seems to indicate there was another variant.

That unused pig flamethrower statue looks way more like a Wario character/obstacle than a Mario one.

I swear I saw that green Para Beetle in screenshots in the marketing for those McDonalds Happy Meal toys they had back when the game was released (the springing Mario, Luigi on a cloud, etc)
If anyone's interested, xfloralys made a Weather Cycle mod for 64 that has a bunch of new weather types & environmental effects.

6:42 this sorta reminds me of mario mimicking exor in super mario RPG,maybe mario could taunt like in pizza tower or maybe mario would do that when you triple jump after getting yoshis magic sparkly triple jump or maybe if you save your file enough times mario would appear and do that but nintendo scrapped it and referenced it in the super mario RPG switch remake!

I don’t think the cutting room floor website contains all the unused stuff in the games, just a few from each type of game since I did some searches of other games and there’s a lot less than expected, especially since I know the game a lot

The purple cloud that kills u one hit that u showed off for NSMBW is actually in the game in a couple word 8 stages, also with Mario Galaxy 2 the giant goombas aren't in that game but one can be found in the first galaxy game and it's actually in the very beginning of the game, it holds a key that opens up a pipe and saves a caged luma to get the first grand star

8:38 Hear me out okay. So on the same level as this un-used gomba sprite (Pinna Park) inside the cannon secret shine, theres a Strollin Stew spawner on one of the wall (Not alot of people even know that...)
The spawner can be washed away with FLUUD, BUT... Its design is simply a "hand drawn" kinda cartoony 2D drawing of a Strollin Stew. JUST LIKE THIS GOOMBA ONE
So perhaps this was going to be in use as a spawner for gombas, but they never made it into the game themselves so they scrapped it. Now why its under the carousel im not sure, maybe it was placed on a wall in the area and the devs just moved it under thr map and disabled any logic it has

They removed multiplayer collision, and I don’t think anybody cares about friendship in a game like this and it’s WAY too easy. Plus the new voice actor sucks.
