    The best part is that there's no way to reproduce the Official Studio version. The "guitar scratch" at the very end was Herman's E-string snapping mid-note! The producer liked the effect so much they kept it.

    The Devil went down to Georgia was the actual final boss battle in GH3. A guitarist by the name of Steve Ouimette made a hard rock/heavy metal version of the song in which the the fiddle parts of the song or played using an electric guitar. Y’all should look up the GH3 final boss battle. DragonForce Through the Fire and Flames was DLC but was indeed the hardest song to beat and Xbox 360 had an achievement for beating it on expert called The Inhuman Achievement.

      not only was it a DLC song but you got to sample it for yourself in the end credits after defeating the final boss. all in all I miss the golden age of Guitar Hero games where when you beat the game you were given the option to play along with the end credits song while the end credits were rolling.

    • @Scrubermensch
      @Scrubermensch ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Herman Li, the lead guitarist for DragonForce, is a GOD. He's also a good content creator, in the online space. He streams, and uploads a bunch of stuff here on TH-cam, usually on the official DragonForce channel.
    Edit: also for the Guitar Hero parts, the fast notes are really impressive, of course. But as someone that played a ton back in the day, the most impressive part is being able to hit the slow notes. You can muscle memory and zone in on the fast stuff, it's hard to lock on the slow stuff.

    Guitar Hero was my shit, I had them all. Then it died and I hadn't played it for like 8+ years, had a conversation about old games and trends, remembered Guitar Hero and got nostalgic, learned that Clone Hero was a thing and it was popular and growing right now (about 3-4 years ago) and still going strong today. Discovered channels like Acai, UKOGmonkey, JasonParadise, randyladyman. "Through The Fire And Flames" is warmup compare to how insanely difficult songs exists now. Add overcharts, mod charts and so on. They havn't seen anything yet 😈
    I play Clone Hero everyday now at 31, and I'm better now than I ever was when I was like 16 and played Guitar Hero religiously. Like I went from struggling hitting 3-5 notes consecutively to comfortable at expert over summer break (ca 9 weeks here) :P

    • @tren133
      @tren133 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think what's crazy about Tina S cover is that the guitar solo in this song was DUELING guitars, both Herman Li and Sam Totman, but the track she got had both guitar solos going simultaneously, so she sort of did both parts of the solo BY HERSELF on her one guitar.

    Thing is, guys, the "official video" doesn't even have the whole studio solo!
    If I recall, there was a second part of the solo that wasn't included -- making the whole song at least 7:30 long.
    And guys, check out Tina S playing this on guitar! She's a freakin' monster on lead!
    Edit: In case y'all were wondering, how someone gets that good is hundreds, if not thousands of hours of practice, as well as insane pattern recognition. Trust and believe, someone that good? They ain't just gonna pick up GH III and make no mistakes. That dude spent _a lot_ of time playing that game.

    • @colecampbell1906
      @colecampbell1906 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. Me and my friends could all do it on expert, but it was only because we were competitive with eachother and as soon as one could do it on hard, another had to try outdo them by doing it on expert, then another had to get a higher score, etc. ALLL summer long playing the same song over and over just to get better at it than our friends. And if you couldn't beat them at one song you just mastered another and challenged them on that lol.

And I don't know why, but for some reason the very first time (and every following time) I heard that guitar part, I created this whole epic scene in my head of a marshal/cowboy on horseback riding all alone through the dry desert wasteland on a mission to seek revenge or something lol. Yes, Dragonforce really do play that fast, especially live🔥🔥🤘🤘... and drink a lot of beers in between!
    The band was formed in the late 90's and debuted in 2003 w/ the album 'Valley of the damned'. Their sound embodies the 'power metal' genre - blazing guitars, fast leads, double bass drumming, high vocals and lyrics about fictional fantasy... The main members of Dragonforce are Herman Li and Sam Totman (guitars)... Z.P. Theart was the original singer... Vadim Pruzhanov was the keyboardist... Dave Mackintosh played drums on this record...
    This song was from the 3rd Dragonforce album 'Inhuman Rampage' (2005), which sold a half million copies in the US... The band was featured on 'Guitar Hero' video game and that gave Dragonforce a huge profile worldwide... that was followed by the 4th album 'Ultra beatdown' which featured Frederic Leclerqc (bass) joining the band. In 2010, Dragonforce parted ways w/ singer Z.P. Theart and the 'Guitar Hero' game was discontinued.
    With new vocalist Marc Hudson joining Dragonforce in 2012, the band released the album 'The Power within'... Over the next few years, Gee Anzalone (drums) replaced Dave Mackintosh... keyboardist Vadim Pruzahanov left the band (he was never replaced) and Alicia Vigil (bass) joined recently to replace bassist Frederic Leclercq... Their latest album was the arcade video game themed album 'Extreme power metal' (2019) and Dragonforce are working on a new record.
    More Dragonforce - 'Valley of the damned'... 'Operation Ground & Pound'... 'Cry Thunder'... 'Three hammers'... 'My spirit will go on'... 'Highway to oblivion' 🤘🤘🔥🔥

    Check out Valley Of The Damned, Fields Of Despair, & Once In A Lifetime by them too. DragonForce is considered Power Metal. A lot of the subjects are about different mythologies, vikings, wars, etc. it’s usually uplifting though. You always want to just kick ass after listening to it. Early influences were Dio, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc. You guys should also check out bands like Gamma Ray, HammerFall, Helloween, Iced Earth, Manowar, Powerwolf, Sabaton, Seven Kingdoms, Unleash The Archers, etc.

    I'm an expert player and players many years of guitar hero. This song on guitar hero isn't really that crazy for a lot of top players. There's been custom songs twice as hard that have been 100% FCd. On the number of notes in a stream, you don't count them. It's more about noticed how fast you need to strum for what you see. You sort of get the rhythm of it just looking at it. It's like running. You don't focus on left right left right the faster you go. You just move them both based on the speed you want to go at, with left right left right just coming naturally.

      I mean anyone that really is in to metal knows that the stuff that's heralded as 'the best of all time' like Metallica and other basic boring music is a bunch of incredibly simplistic radio crap and all the best stuff is much lesser known because it's not made to appease the mainstream listeners ear and doesn't get an advertising budget from major record labels.

    Having played Guitar Hero 3, I'd say that if you're counting across all difficulty levels (and most people wouldn't), "Raining Blood" actually beats out "Through the Fire and Flames" due to having a less dense but also less predictable pattern. (Also, the first time I played the latter was over the ending credit sequence, where you aren't scored and can't lose, so it just feels epic no matter how bad you are and that feeling kind of carried over to when you can play it normally.)

    Looking forward to you folks now doing a Reaction to Tina S - doing a cover of Through the Fire and Flames...when she was 17.
    there is also a vid of Herman Li - tone of the guitarists of Dragon Force doing a reaction TO Tina S doing a cover of his song...and his reaction is essentially what everyone else's reaction to Tina S whether playing Dragon Force or Vivalid or Paganini or Beethoven on guitar and covering Stevie Vai, Gary Moore and so many other greats...while she chews gum and nonchalantly looks around. As one pro-guitarist stated while reacting to her: "No she's just laughing at us..."
    I think you'll enjoy it.
    Thanks for the vid. I hadn't seen that particular Dragon Force vid of the song before...cool.

    If you guys like hearing AMAZING guitar skills, I seriously reccomend reacting to "TheDoo", he is self taught and been making videos for YEARS, he has an unhinged sense of humor so ill warn you ahead of time. TheDoo had a clip of him playing this song and the guitarist in dragonforce reacted to it, and in his own words said, "that was the best performance of that song ive ever heard". One of the biggest compliments you can get as a guitarist is that one right there

    A good place to see more great guitarists along with Herman Li is to check out the DragonForce TH-cam chanel. About 2 years ago, he did this big fundraiser for Jason Becker (another guitar virtuoso who can't play anymore due to having ALS). He had a bunch of awesome guest guitarists come on to help raise funds, like: Steve Vai, Tosin Abasi, Jason Richardson, Paul Gilbert, Nita Strauss, Stevie T, etc.
