I'm a white woman living in a predominately black community. And it broke my heart when my middle son asked me "mama, why are white people considered evil or bad." I was taken back by this and asked him what makes him think that??? He said "I dont know... just little every day stuff. like a black girl bumped into me and said "eww, a white boy"..." yall..... i am so heart broken .... and not just for my son.... but for everyone who believes it or feels that way. My son growing up wondering whats wrong with him and why couldn't he be born black instead of white

Jesus, that ideology is what led to the civil war but it was in a vice versa stance at the time. How have people as a whole not come to entirely acknowledge that no matter who you are or what anyone looks like this is never the correct way to judge anyone??? Sickens me that public schools are such strong examples of how racism isn't dead but alas evolving and changing to hurt everyone anymore.

@arbuzz7373 I live in douglasville Georgia.... in one of the most upscale neighborhoods around this area actually. Most all of our black community have college degrees and are white collar citizens. It's not the neighborhood. It's the idealogy these kids are learning either by generational influences in their families or online. So no you are wrong. Since when does moving solve social issues??? Very odd and racist suggestion

I spent way to long staring at your comment with a mix anger/hurt and my logical side saying you couldn't know and there is no way it's your fault.
I also went to school in the 80s/90s and moved to SO Cal in 89' to a school where there were 5 black kids in my class, me the one white kid, and the rest were Mexican.
Every day I was called names, I'd get jumped before/after school, they'd steal my backpack and throw it in the trash bin, force me to go in after it so they could call me a white trash picker, they shattered my cats jaw by hitting him with a skateboard, I was suicidal through most of my early teens till I eventually dropped out and left home at 16 to live with a 25yo man just to get away from it all. It wasn't the black children that did it, it was the Mexican children.
I'm only saying this so you know it's been that way and at your same timeframe. I'm sure location and being a minority were factors but it did happen.
When I had first moved there I was stupidly optimistic and excited to learn about Mexican culture and stuff, and by the end I ended up with a deep mistrust of Mexicans that lasted into my 20s.

I'm white, blond and blue eyed and grew up in the 80s and 90s and we never had any issues with racism or predudices back then. When I was a teen everyone had their own style weather it be hip hop, punk, goth, grunge, heavy metal fans, skater boys etc but everyone hung out together and had fun. The amount of victim mentality and ignorance in today's society is insane. Young people seem to scream racism or transphobia etc everytime their entitled ass is not the center of the universe. Back in the days we knew we had to work hard to achieve our goals and being kind to people no matter what their style, color, nationality or gender - was the way to go about life. Why are people so damn obsessed about creating divisions? What's that all about????

I’m blonde and blue eyed and I love you guys. I’ve been feeling this shit since Obama, who made this culture change. In college, I went to Emerson in Boston, it was super super liberal and it was the worst time in my life. I couldn’t even share my opinion in class I even had one teacher yell at me in class because we watched a video on colonization during wwii in Africa. The British came to a particular tribe and trained the men to join the war. The black tribe was all on board and trained and then all the men left on the back of a truck to go to war. I suggested that these men were enamored with this new technology of weapons and vehicles and maybe that’s why they were so ready to train be handed the guns and go off to fight a war they knew nothing about. The teacher screamed at in front of class and told me how evil these white people were to manipulate them… my comment had nothing to do with the ethic and moral of the white people. It had to do with the fascination of new tech. Anyways i have so many more stories of people screaming at me for dumb shit because I’m white. I love you guys thanks for sharing and I’ll keep watching everyday.

It definitely got escalated I feel when the media started covering police brutality when it involved a white police officer and a black person. Obama certainly didn't help matters with his speeches over these issues and I feel alot of politicians did the same and more and more people started blaming each other. I was like, "What happened to treating others as you would treat yourself? We're all people right? We all share the same world and the same sky right?" It's really sad.

    • @AZ-su1zg
      @AZ-su1zg ปีที่แล้ว

White privilege means you have an invisible backpack pf resources that not everyone else gets. It doesn’t matter if you’re poor. You’re still viewed as a more trustworthy sbd more important person in society. You’re used to seeing white peoples in your dream job. You’re a blank snare, little to no stereotypes. The only thing poor white communities and (poor and wealthy) black communities is police brutality. In the court system though you’ll still get a mess sentencing unless the hypothetical black person Im comparing you to in this hypothetical situation, is significantly more attractive than you. And that’s in the face of Eurocentric beauty standards too.
Black people almost always will receive a higher sentencing in the court system versus white peoples for the same crime/similar type of defendant/similar background. The only time black people might get a lower sentencing is usually due to conventionalatttactivehess. Race and attractiveness play a huge role in sentencing. It’s about who is generally trustworthy in public narratives. White people and attractive people.

To the best of my knowledge no one in my family ever even owned any slaves. I regret that slavery happened, it was a horrible thing, it's also a horrible thing to try and make someone feel like crap over something that happened that they did NOT participate in. Also what about the WHITE abolitionists who risked their lives to get blacks from the south, and up north?

I once was called disgusting and a bigot for commenting my opinion over a controversial episode in Grey's Anatomy (the one where Gale Harold guest starred), cause I said that the patient was obviously messed up, but they as doctors should've handled things more professionally and not let their personal opinions cloud their judgement or make the statements they made. Mind you, it is a tv show and the situation was there for drama, but it still made people angry and incited name calling. The funny part is that I think the admin of that fb fanpage likes to bait people, cause I keep seeing that scene either as a clip or a meme every once in a while.

It’s true and especially difficult for kids. My son comes home in tears at times saying that the kids at school call him a white monkey, cracker, colonizer, and when he tries to play with them they tell him it’s a no cracker zone (he’s 8). He doesn’t understand why he’s different, or why they’re mean to him, he just wants friends. Racism isn’t innate it’s learned, and kids absorb everything. I was lucky enough to grow up in a diverse area where skin color wasn’t a factor, so watching this change among children is heartbreaking. You know we’ve done something wrong when kids start dividing themselves based on color again.

The idea that the Irish were slaves is absolute fabrication. The Irish HAD slaves. The hate for Irish people in the US was simply a personal dislike by other colonisers. The reason why? There is a problem with social media exploding opinions all over the place. Everyone has a platform to speak, and rouse the affections of people who desire to be a part of something without doing the research to fact check these opinions (virtue signaling). It's just social McCarthyism, the witch hunt of the day - racism against straight cis-gendered whites. Human beings, like everything in nature, have the need to respond to every action with an equally forceful reaction. Liberal social consciousness is political first and foremost. And politics survive by finance. These are people parroting the outrage of dead and dying people that can not or will not speak for themselves, ultimately to validate the existence of their office for financial gain. Yet they place the blame at the feet of, not just other dead and dying people, but also at the feet of their children and grandchildren. It's easy to place blame in a high seat in Congress and virtue signal all over social media. It is difficult to go to ground zero and actually do the work that affects change. It is difficult to pass legislation for those who experienced Jim Crow first hand, before they pass on. All of this rabble rousing by people who use the pain of the people for political gain will do nothing but incite another Civil War due to a multitude of strong opinions. Remember this, DJ: Politicians create civil unrest for the purpose of validating their station. Emotion gets votes without having to do any actual work to affect change. What most white people entirely fail to understand is that they think not being a racist asshole means "I'm a good person". When you grow up and live in a society that revolves around white culture, white history, white controlled governments and media, you don't learn about the history and culture that has been erased. You remain ignorant and uneducated. You inadvertently harm the BIPOC around you with this ignorance and have no understanding of why. You still uphold systems that oppress minorities and don't help fight it. You don't use your position in society to raise your voice to the oppressors.

I'm white passing, which essentially means I am white.
I say that, to give context to this statement. If you don't think you have white privilege, you are mistaken about what white privilege is.
You may have suffered immeasurably throughout your life, but you endured that suffering while being white. Which meant you were more likely to get a loan, get a job, get a warning when and if you got pulled over. You were not automatically a suspect in every crime that some other random white person committed in your neighborhood. You were not assumed to be armed and combative when interacting with police. You were less likely to face maximum sentencing if you were found guilty of a crime. You were less likely to be stopped and frisked. You were not subject to laws against congregating in groups in public (yes, such laws exist) doing perfectly legal activities.
While all of the "more likely" and "less likely" doesn't mean you would never be subject to any of those things, the fact remains that statistically, you would have been more likely to have a positive experience than a person of color.
It doesn't take away from what you've endured to acknowledge that simply being white does indeed confer a privilege in America.

    • @xXxMarqxXx
      @xXxMarqxXx ปีที่แล้ว +40

This is sadly true, growing up as a white girl I was made to feel bad. I was told I have no culture because I'm white, which is far from true and I've dived fully into my ancestors. I always thought if I didn't have some color dna I had no good past, no culture other than brutality etc. I see people of color daily that make comments that would have me ruined. When you are saying "I don't know about power" I think the best example of the fact that minorities DO have more power is the fact minorities have the ability to speak out against things and actually be heard. It's happening right in front of you; if I, a white man, said all of the stuff Cheon just did, it would likely be buried and many whites will say "thanks, but no one will care." and others would just deem me a racist in some form or fashion. However, when a minority says it, it suddenly has weight. A LOT of weight. Case in point again, the fact that Cheon is saying it, people are listening and white people are thanking him profusely for standing up for them because we aren't allowed to stand up for ourselves. Look in your very comments section, white people are thanking you guys left and right for standing up for us. That includes me - thank you so much! You guys and Cheon will be heard while we will not. That is indeed power that you have that we simply don't.

In the last 10 years, I have been screamed at at work, my professional license has been threatened and women and men of color have created a hostile environment. Is it motivated by race? Yes. I was told that my presence is offensive, that Ian responsible for the enslaved blacks. (Even though my ancestors immigrated to the US after the civil war.). My daughter tells me it’s because of my white privilege that I am unable to understand where these folk are coming from. But I remember when, in my lifetime, that people were not judged by their race and most people worked together to stamp out the racism that was there.

Stop the "I don't see color" thing, I'm not saying treat anyone bad but White people need to learn again to have some sort of community sense like every other ra ce of people in the world do though. Because it has only gotten to this point *because* Whi te people are largely opposed to or are afraid of having this same in group preference that all others besides us have. People might think this is only happening in media and stuff, but I have been experiencing racial hatred since high school. One of the first interactions I had with a black person (outside of my family) was a friend of my friend and she would only refer to me as "little racist white girl" and assumed my family to be racist because I lived in the country and wasn't a city dweller.
Our first interaction went somewhat like this, "HI, I am ----! Nice to meet you." And she responded with, "Yeah, a little racist white girl from the country," with no hesitation at all.
During my time in university, in my creative writing class, I wrote a poem about my favorite cousin who happens to be mixed-black. My extremely liberal professor and other students in the class called me out for being racist. Saying I only favored him because of his skin color. I dropped that class because of that situation. Everything in the poem got thrown out when I explained his features and that was what labeled me. I asked my brother who is mixed (caucasian and island Indian) and my cousin who is mixed (caucasian and black) and they saw nothing wrong with my poem.
In my first year of college, a girl told me that I wasn't allowed to wear braids (I was wearing a French braid during this interaction) because I was white. That braids were a black American and African style and I shouldn't be stealing from other cultures.
Two naive black guys called me a "Racist white bitch" because they were trying to get a dog's attention in the college library. The dog is a service dog and the service dog owner looked extremely uncomfortable. They were in one of my classes, so I knew they suffered from a list of things, especially major anxiety, and antisocial personality. I decided to intervene, politely saying "You shouldn't bother service dogs when they are working," and I received negative behavior. I think they were embarrassed for not completely understanding what a service dog was and when they were confronted they didn't know how to handle it.
A few semesters ago, I met a slightly younger guy who was in charge of the black American group at my university. He was the president. He would speak about how he thinks schools should be segregated to give blacks leeway to opportunities and so on. He believed this was an answer for opportunities in school because he was glad that he barely had any white people in his school growing up because they would have stole opportunities from him otherwise. He actually fought and won for there to be only black people and minorities safe places on campus where white people were not allowed to be at all (no entry for whites or whites not allowed on the sign). He was the leader of 3 clubs and all of those clubs did not allow white people to be a part of them.
These stories were not to support a narrative of us versus them or individually an I versus them narrative. These stories are to show when you are raised without knowledge of certain things and jump to assumptions, divides can happen. For example, that creative writing class with a poem. There were no black students or other students of color in that class. Everyone was white. I was the only one that had a family that was non-white.
My cousin is mixed and is marrying a woman from Africa. My cousin is Caucasian and his children are mixed Latinos. My other cousin is engaged to a woman from the Philippines. My other cousin has married an Asian American. My brother is mixed of Caucasian and island Indian (his grandmother on his father's side is Jamaican and lives on the islands).
I grew up in a decently diverse family that showed everyone positivity and love no matter their skin color, background, or social class. I was raised that we are all human. We all make mistakes. We all bleed. We all have emotions. It's odd to see how some people rip humanity out of others based on skin color or gender. Out of things they could not control.

Find a husband with a good heart, show him what love means, raise beautiful children. You will find peace in this.
Unfortunately things are going to get worse before they get better, there's a coming pendulum swing that will foster a slightly less extreme white identitarian movement. Best to pick a white husband in case things get bad, as when it happens it will be sudden. Wish you well from rural Australia, we're facing the same **** over here but with Aboriginals and indian / Chinese immigrants at our universities.

First line gonna say, "lived in the country and wasn't a city dweller" in my opinion, CITIES are the problem with racism. Racism, criminal activity, selfishness, all these things seem to be more prominent in cities. Financial issues tend to be even bigger in cities as well, with most political ideas being represented by the cities. I live in New York State. I feel like nothing I say here matters because the city is so huge and they know their way of life and how they're treated there, but they don't think much of how vastly different people can act as well as their needs are depending on their location. I live in a small town, and this place was very safe until people from the city moved here during the pandemic, then we even had a bomb issue. I can't walk outside at night anymore. It's the social environments being held in the cities that seem to be the biggest issues. (Of course there are issues with some places in countries too, but I do feel that cities play a big role as well)

The Irish Catholics were not "indentured servants". History records that they were the first to be brought to America in chains, and sold as property. They arrived in ships 10 years before any ship arrived from Africa with Africans. The same ships, the same chains. When African slaves started arriving, the traders then released a lot of the Irish slaves, but they then became indentured servants with very little opportunities to improve their lives, and were considered second class citizens at best. That attitude prevails in the Protestant dominated America even today regarding Catholics. When John F. Kennedy was running for President, many cried that having an Irish Catholic President would be the end of America. The same type of people years later said the same about Obama. We know intolerance. We know hatred.

When the Black Lives Matter movement hit I mentioned on facebook that I didn’t see the colour of my neighbours, I saw the person in front of me.
I was attacked for being ‘colour blind’ How things have gone over the years has made me slowly become anxious about how I should be now.
I went from being an open normal person relating to my neighbours without any uncomfortable feelings and now, even though nothing has changed and we still get on lovely, I have now an awkward and unsettled feeling inside.. wondering what they may think about me and it’s not a good feeling. let me ask this...your discomfort around them, is it because they treat you differently or because of what you are afraid of what they are thinking? if they don't treat you any differently then change your thinking to being more positive because they are not holding anything against you personally

Thanks for taking the time to reply. For me it’s all so much more simple.
I just love them as people…and I think there has been a strange twisting of things with the ‘woke’ agenda, that has made the simple flow of living in peace without ‘political correctness’ gone weird,
      almost impossible.
The social architects plant seeds in the minds of people that cause us to get stuck in our heads with ideals and ideas which can seem divisive I think.
It’s so much more simple when we come from our hearts. I totally accept there are so many ways of looking at this from a head perspective.
I think love is the way. 🙏🏼💜✨

Anyone reading this read it all and I will break this down. White supremacy is the foundation of America, black people were seen as property for over 150+ years hence the term “chattel slavery” what this means is you were not considered a human being and at least 109 years if you want to start from 1776. Now what I mean by white supremacy is the foundations were built by rich white men who owned property and controlled the voting and political system of America. This gave them leverage to get a big head start in the race of life. White people were not seen as property in America like blacks were that’s the difference and why white supremacy exists big time. Now white people can also become a victim of white supremacy and many did including indentured servants etc. the Declaration of Independence said “All Men are created equal” but at that time blacks especially men were not considered men they were property. The US constitution as well said “We The People” again black people were not considered people at that time. Then we had the 13 amendment which brought forth the black codes of the south and had to be ratified to free blacks again from imprisoned slavery. A lot of white people get triggered hearing the phrase white supremacy but while people need to understand something that the founding documents we’re written for YOU not everyone else. Once that’s established we can begin to heal but a lot of who’re people don’t know history properly and that’s why it’s annoying having to constantly explain this. There is individual racism which anyone can commit but institutional and systemic racism is only toward non whites currently now I do not agree it should be reversed onto blacks having the power to get revenge on white people for the past. What’s done is done but if white people want to move forward we need to learn history properly so it’s not repeated. You don’t owe me an apology but you need to learn history and not get triggered by the truth. The truth shouldn’t trigger you it should make you think and learn something. I’m a bi-racial black man myself and I get tired of white people getting defensive over the truth. So to conclude white supremacy is about the white community power structure that built America, it is not the middle class poor white man. With that said though if white people don’t acknowledge history and educate themselves they become a puppet for white supremacy and that’s where the real issue lies.

The funniest part about others calling me a "colonizer" is that there are no actual colonizers or slave owners in my bloodline. Eh I never liked when people try to get out of being called a colonizer because your relatives weren't here until all of the fighting was done. Let me ask, did your family ask permission of the Natives to move here? Colonizing is just having people from one country settle on land in another country usually by displacing another group. You're complicit in the takeover. And I am not some wokey. I just cannot swallow the whole "my people weren't around back then" narrative. Maybe not but they don't mind benefitting from the current situation. At least we were born into this circumstance. Immigrants say "colonizer" to us as they unpack their boxes. As being someone who has personally experienced racism towards myself and my family it is heartbreaking for kids. My very blonde white daughter was 1 of 3 white kids who went to the school her brother was another one of the 3. She was bullied and treated terribly but the school didn't do anything because she was white. She came home in tears and begging to color her hair because she didn't like it anymore because she was bullied. She was 5 when this started. Schools are also teaching white kids that we are inherently evil because they are white. This is why I pulled my kids out of school and started homeschooling them. It's the reality of the situation. I shouldnt be made to feel bad because of something my distant ancestors might or might not have done. Can't we just get to know the person underneath?

We ALL are biracial somewhere in our lineage. I just wanted to say I am sorry people treated you so badly in the past and maybe even today. God bless you and your family 🙏

it is sad that people have to be reminded. People also like to ask the one or 2 black people in the room their opinions on racial issues....like they are speaking for an entire race. And its the same with Black people asking their white friend or friends the same kind of questions. Just like none of us want the Brits thinking that one loud mouth American tourist speaks for everyone in America lol

This is one of the most goated videos of all time (The original, this reaction is really good too tho) because it simultaneously brings awareness to the hypocrisy of minorities (which I feel I should point out is 101% understandable, and bordering on fxcking justified, you could even convince me that it IS justified, that's just a tough pill for a whiteboi to swallow who's seen both the breathtaking beauty and deep rooted depravity of his people) while also clearly illustrating that while what's being done to white people is not cool, it doesn't hold a fxcking candle to what minorities have been through. Essentially it's not a video about race, it's a video about... I don't dare say... "The true final boss"

Voltaire said " If you can make one believe absurdities, you can make them commit atrocities" and that's not far behind. It's not easy being the parent of kids in this environment , being white . I'm freakin' Irish white but my husband is black. I see the blush of white resentment being fed to mixed race kids. There is no way this will end well. Enjoyed your input gentlemen.

@@whitenuttergoku7310 As a mixed person this shit is not wrong in the slightest. The amount of times I've been told I'm not black enough to understand the "true struggles of black people", by black people, while actually having faced genuine racism daily, is mind boggling to me.
Legit I bet most of the people who say that shit haven't even been called the hard ER to their face once, and being one of the only black kids back in high school it is literally almost all I was ever called every day from 7th to 12th grade by nearly everybody, and that was the easiest thing I had to deal with.
But nah I don't understand racism because I'm not the right shade for black people.

@@cannedsquasher5923 Probably because Mixed people tend to have the most colonised uniformed mindsets that discriminate the most against pocs through their projected use of unconscious colorism that they have misappropriated from the oppressors.
There are plenty of mixed people that get along just fine with the Biipoc thus your unverified claims may simply be a you problem.
For example Carlton didnt get hassled for being mixed race, because he wasn’t, he simply _felt_ hassled for adopting the oppressors language against his own people

Kudos to You for having open hearts and open minds. I’m white (Swedish) and I do take offense by this even though it’s not even happening in my country. I think all racism is deplorable and should be eradicated, regardless of who’s spewing it and against whom they’re directing it. As long as you’re a good person it doesn’t matter how much melanin you have or where you were born.
