Amazing video Wade! I know this is a bit of read, but I wanted to show that we appreciate you all considering our magazines. At Geissele, we pride ourselves in our craft as Weaponmakers. Yet, when faced with the challenge of developing the new GFR in 6ARC, we discovered that existing magazine options didn't quite meet our standards. Given the innovation of the cartridge, we had to step out of our usual role and create a magazine tailored to its needs. We understand that our magazine might not be the right fit for everyone. Its quality does come at a price above the industry norm. We acknowledge and respect that some shooters may not require such durability and functionality. However, for those in the line of duty, for prepared citizens, and for professional shooters, compromise is simply not an option. Just like the GFR was meticulously crafted from the ground up for the 6ARC, our magazines underwent the same intentional process. This involved entirely new tooling and dedicated research & development to ensure flawless feeding. No expense was spared in delivering the finest magazine for this caliber. Beginning with the body, we utilized 410 Stainless Steel, laser-welded at the seams, and flash-nitride coated for exceptional corrosion resistance. Every detail, from the feed lips to the follower and internal geometry, was redesigned specifically for the 6ARC. Moreover, the body's shape allows for easy storage in existing magazine carriers. Our commitment to over-engineering ensures that our magazines withstand rigorous testing without any compromise to reliability and durability. Venturing into this new territory was a significant investment for us, but one we deemed necessary to provide a vital product to many users. Each magazine is diligently assembled and meticulously inspected, this level of manufacturing must reflect in the pricing. We want to reassure you that we fully stand behind these magazines, offering unwavering support to those who choose to invest in them as a key part of the platform and its function.
@@medieval_flail 6 arc uses standard multi cal ar15 lower. That said you will find some Grendel based mags will have some issues with some lowers being tight fitting, and some mags in general will have issues. That said , I’ve only seen one issue with geissele mag. The LaRue 6 arc doesn’t lock back on it.
This is the content I love to see. Great use of your platform fella. Don’t waste your $ or time on Elander mags for 6ARC. Mine “work” but they absolutely the cheapest mag I own. Thin-chinsy-don’t stack the rounds reliably. I would hate to drop them- and I agree- I don’t need 26-7 round mags but to have a solid 20rd mag that works no matter what else you try would be greatly appreciated. Cough- MAGPUL!!
I’ve been running ASC and Dura-Mags since day one with my 6ARC. I’ve got roughly 1500 rounds through the rifle and I’ve never had one single magazine issue with ASC or Dura-Mag. If Geisselle is making mags now, just give Larue a minute and they will make one just as good as Geiselle for 1/3 the price… out of spite.
Check out the distance your magazine catch extends into the magazine while inserted into the lower receiver. The fact that the magazine catch drags on the ammunition as it moves past the catch hole is the reason some magazines work perfectly in some guns and not others
I made a fairly in depth post about this on the TPH fb page but a mod deleted it last Friday Amend2 is a double stack AR mag that only feeds off of 1 side. It is about the only way to make the Ruger American Ranch rifle run worth a crap but they’re not great AR mags. Most of the internet hates them because they are a PITA to load to capacity because they load from the front like a pistol mag vs from the top like a stagger feed AR mag. All the G mags are straight, the new Duramag 15 rounder is a straight mag. My 15 round G mags are the only mags I have out of over 2 dozen ACS, Elander, Amend2, CMMG, & duramag 10/20/26 rounders that has ran perfectly since I took them out of the bags 200+ rounds ago, especially feeding the short COAL 58 & 75gr vmax loads
@@txpredatorhunting the mod’s comment did say that my post wasn’t visible but the post had 20+ comments and likes in the TPH group alone so it’s hard to imagine it is a privacy setting. Geissele mag is about 8 inches, roughly 1 more then a standard AR mag. Going to assume they're trying to appeal to the military after winning the MRGG-S contract. And SOCOM does have deep pockets. We just get the fun R&D cost of it all. Hopefully magpul likes us enough to invest into it, but doubt it'll be a priority unless a bigger number of people start using 6 Arc or it gets picket up by a contract.
I have burnt two barrels up using mainly e landers. I have duramags and asc magazines. I haven't really had any problems until I started pushing past 52k. The e landers were considered the best in the grendel. I haven't seen any issues with them yet but I use the e landers in matches and haven't had a failure in a match with them. I do see alot of failures in matches but I would use all of them besides amend 2 without batting an eye.
My 6ARC upper (from BCA, shot the 1000 yard going on 43 round through the rifle, on a PSA EPT Magpul lower) has zero issues in the first 50 rounds through it using ASC and AR Stoner mags alternating to see if one or the other would have issues... Both were 100% good... While I know it's a SMALL sampling, I feel pretty confident with that .. These are 6.8 SPC mags, that my 224 Valkyrie also uses... Just $.02, but zero issues for me, both are 10 rd mags...
Back in the 2000s, it was CProducts mags making them for AA. AA under Bill A.'s QC ran an additional set of tests on the mags before allowing them to go out. ASC had something to do with CProducts at the time, and there was a split early-on with both brands. I saw several issues with those early ASCs, to include bent /mismatched feed lip angles. I kinda wrote ASC off as a result and used CPD and later the Elanders once they came out. Elanders limit your COL though and are the reason Hornady moved the shoulder back .030" on 6mm ARC, vs the legacy 6mm AR that was a simple neck-down. I tried some of the newer 25rd ASC mags made around 2019-2021, and they have been great so far run through 12" CLGS 6.5 Grendel suppressed with Bootleg AGC fully suppressed setting, shooting a lot of 123gr ELD-M, and 110gr PPU FMJ. I also bought several of the Amend2A polymer 10rd mags and have had zero issues with them in 3 different Grendels. I think my de-edging, blending, and polishing of all my feed ramps plays some part in smooth feeding and reliability, as does chamfering the ejector. In shooting Grendel very regularly in 2-3 day DM and LR courses since 2009, I just haven't had many feeding issues.
We have been using the Duramag mags since the beginning in 6 ARC, and their mags for 350 Legend with zero issues. Curious to try the Geissele mags, thank you for reviewing them.
I have two CMMG 10rnd magazines that have performed flawlessly so far. I've shot 400 rounds of Hornady factory 6mm ARC, including Black, ELD-M, and ELD-X. I did put a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block on my rifle which might have helped. I'm guessing Giessele uses value-based pricing, not cost-based pricing. They charge what they think people will pay for all their stuff. All of their stuff is really nice... pricey, but nice. With that said, I'll probably buy both Duramag and Giessele magazines next. It's going to hurt more than my feelings if I end up liking the Giessele mags best. I think there's a good opportunity for Magpul to jump on the 6.5 Grendel/6 ARC trend. I'd love to see your follow-up video after you try the Giessele mags for a bit.
Think I tried E-lander and ASC, both were horrible. Been running Duramag and like you, no issues. I'm not storming any beaches so mostly just using the 10rd.
@txpredatorhunting I guess I should have mentioned that mine is a bit of an outlier. The upper is a Uintah Precision bolt action. It has a traditional 3 lug bolt instead of the standard AR bolt. The lowers i have used are 2A Armament Balios Lite I built out, a Diamondback Firearms lower, and and an Anderson lower I built.
I put a 30rd geissele mag in my cart online without ever glancing at the price. I was getting several items, so I didn't notice it until after checkout. I was SHOCKED that I purchased a 99$ magazine! It better shoot one-hole groups 😆
Geissle is def overgrossly charging ppl lol. However I'd pay the dough for the mag if it works. I cannot stand a curved mag in an ar. And looking cool is half the battle for me 😂
The low capacity Alexander arms mags are ok. The 17 and 24 are total shit. ASC is garbage. Zero issues with dura mags in any capacity. Magpul has started making stainless steel pistol mags, hopefully they will do a stainless steel grendel/ARC mag soon
@@txpredatorhunting 6mm Max users are reporting similar velocities to 6mm ARC and are doing so more reliably with 350 legend magazine. Standard .378 bolt allows the Max to be ran at NATO pressures with a standard bolt which is stronger. Powders that are being used are faster and cleaning burning, eliminating the strange gunk and overgassing problems of the ARC. Gasing/feeding appears to be more reliable as a result. The only tradeoff is you can't run the 108s. This is a new cartridge, and though SAAMI tested, it's anecdotal. But I like what I see so far and it's more appealing to me than the ARC.
I grabbed a BCA complete upper in 24" straight fluted stainless side charger for $250. I have had zero issues with any of the dozen or so BCA's except the 350 Legend (which is commonly problematic), but through the first 50 rounds, it's perfect, zero issues, with 6.8 SPC 10 rd mags from ASC and AR Stoner... I know this is a small sample size, but it shot a few 3/4" groups in the first 10 rounds down the tube (3shot groups for zeroing and data collecting 2677-2693 on 10 shots with Hornady 108 ELD-M ammo), then ran perfect at ranges of 235 - 600 yards!!! Zero issues and was good on a windy day on mostly 2 MOA targets, probably 80% hit ratio, and some of those were the dummy behind the rifle, then 2 Shot impact at 1000, first round was slight high right, held for correction, impact, on shot 43 out of the rifle... This sits atop a PSA Magpul EPT (polished trigger) complete lower with perfect fit, and perfect function... Running an Arken SH4 Gen2 4-16x50 on top, and using Strelok Ballistics program... 👍
