I've been running it out of my 18" Proof Carbon, the last 5-round group was .538 moa. Pretty happy with the groups, consistent 4 o'clock ejection pattern, works really well when suppressed. I have yet to take an animal with it but I hope to change that in the next few weeks.
The 80 grain V-Match measures 1.175" OAL. I ran 20 rounds through a 24" barrel and measured velocity with Labradar and averaged 2973 fps with SD of 13.76. My group size was 1.32" at 100 yds which was disappointing, so I pulled the bullets on the second box and will try to improve with a hand load. This rifle is getting 2755 fps and .73" groups with Hornady Black BTHP 105 gr on the last box tested, but the previous box, different lot number, of 105s got 2681 fps and an SD of 13.79 and grouped .7". My hand loaded 105s group under .4", usually in the .2s, at 100 yds.
@@ajdube9967 I shoot a 5 shot group from every box of ammo I hunt with, so I have many 5 shot groups to compare. When doing load development for handloads, I will select a load that has a similar POI, SD, and group size in the middle of at least 3 charge weights and then test that load with a 10-shot group. If the 10-shot group works well, I will make a larger batch and test with 5 shots to set my hunting parameters and then test it in the field. Each and every box of suitable factory ammo and handload gets a 5-shot group before I use it, and the targets are stored in a notebook for reference.
I measured the 80gr ELD-VT at 1.173”, which is a bit shorter than the 108. Powder charge was 27.7gr of a mysterious ball powder. Even though it looked a lot like CFE223, it’s not. It would take quite a bit more CFE to reach those velocities than 27.7gr.
Possibly lever? I heard somewhere lever is basically cfe223 without the copper eliminator and you are able to get similar velocity with less powder due to the mass being lower (lack of copper eliminator stuff)
I can tell you from experience that depending on the contour of your barrel a 24" barrel turns your AR15 into an AR10 weight wise. I built one using a Mcgowan heavy contour spiral fluted barrel and wound up with a 12lb. rifle. Shoots great but I don't know if I would want to carry it around all day.
Not happy with anything but Hornady Match. Black, V Match and 95 grain Barnes LRX seem to group poorly and the LRX has flyers. The twist rate is 1:8 on a 16 inch barrel. Any thoughts?
I love these non-Texas natives/residents in your comments. Can you ship my ammo to Antarctica, Wade? They got background checks to buy ammo down there 😂. God bless our great state of Texas, and great video boys. Cheers!
FITZY!! Alpha munitions' is making 8.6 blackout brass and it's actually affordable. Theirs 6 100 counts left in stock as of now. They don't have 6.5 Creedmoor in stock right now but they have 8.6
Wade, are the VT bullets just barely too long to fit in "traditional" cartridges? Hornady says that the 62g .244 bullet won't fit/feed standard 223 stuff. Will the 80g not do 243win? If so, sounds like that was all on purpose...
Ima come to the store and stroke the beard....best be there lol ! But seriously, how you reck'n this round would perform on whitetail and pigs inside of 400 yards ?
0:29 Good Lord, people actually say that to y’all…? Anyway, there are many of us who appreciate the humor, every day is better with a good laugh anyway.
I took a guy out coyote hunting for the first time. He brought a 12 ga with 3" magnums loaded with bird shot. He didn't tell me the shot size until after he shot twice and peppered a coyote without drawing blood. Haters are like this guy with the 12 ga shotgun, he went ready for a point-blank hunt against a critter that doesn't get that close. BBL length is best between 12" and 14" for max range of 400 yards. The idea is to have a gun that is fast on target.
Why do words insult you? Also why in particular those and none of the others? To be clear , I am genuinely curious I am not attacking you what so ever.
Wade, your mane is incredible, I'm envious. I'm a Predator slayer from Northern Maine. I know more than you. I agree with every perspective you have in life, except I have opposite objectives and perceptions that accelerate my position. You need to have me on for a 5 min guest chat. It will change you, for the better. Your truly I'm better with 5.56 than you with fancy pants stuff guy.
@@mckimmym using E-landers myself and the follower keeps hanging up. They don’t feel like quality mags in my hands. Much thinner and chinsier construction. Almost feels more like a pop can than a magazine
Shot some of these through my 18" and it grouped well then shot it into ballistic gel and it opened up perfectly almost immediately upon entry.
Toasted a groundhog with the 80 VT (18" 6arc) yesterday. No exit wound. I think his insides turned to jelly.
I’ve literally almost wrecked my service truck listening to y’all. Don’t change. Laughing keeps me going. Taylor swift likes Magpul bipods

Love this podcast.....You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work! .....also the jokes and humor is half the reason I listen to this podcast! 😂😂

Thanks very helpful info.
Good data thanks.
How many shots in the group? Anything less than 20 isn't a group

Thanks for doing the work and the breakdown Wade. If you happened to decide in doing a complete upper 6arc, 14.5 limited number run, I'm in!
I’d like to see this vs 77gr 5.56 in ballistic gel.

Got my hands on some of the 62 eldvt bullets and started loading them in 22 creed. Nasty on yotes at 3700 out of a 20”.
Oh dang!

When you spend 5k at Ally Outdoors you get a tour of Munitions and a coyote hunt with Wade. It’s a well kept secret.
If you spend 10k you get a Taylor Swift concert with John… So everybody just buys their gear in 5k increments.
5k won’t get ya there.
Just went and measured 5 80VT projectiles out of my factory seconds from Midway. Each one is 1.173" long.
I’m getting 3020 from a 20in with reloads.
Hornady listen to Wade! We need a 65 or 70 gr eld-vt for the 6mm's.
I’ve been happy with my 24” EABCo barrel.
They have detailed break-in instructions so Wade will enjoy reading them.
Will y'all ship ammo to my ffl in California since we have to go through a background check to buy ammo?
Can you show a few of your 6 Arc bolts guns? There isn’t much out there on 6 Arc bolt guns.
Soon
Ruger American Predator 22” Gen 2 is offering one. $579.99 Firearms Depot
Waiting for a cz600 american in 6arc
Link to ammo website?
To the people who take this so seriously and just want the info now....."Why so serious?". I love this channel.

Gettin mickey mouse groups out of these from my 18" Ballistic Advantage barrel
For coyotes what is your caliber of choice?
You’re obviously not a golfer.
Several
224 Valkyrie, 6arc , 22 creed , 6 creed are top 4 .
At the moment.
Why use a ELD VT bullets when there is the 108 ELDM? Just curious.
Did you guys make that wall out of an old pallet?
Those are actually cedar fence pickets stained several colors. The shelves are just rudimentary made from old hardwood.
Let’s talk Magpul Bipods!!!!! 🇺🇸

MITTTTTTLINNNNN 😂
Did he mention SD values and I missed it? That would be really good to know.
If you were to get the Ruger gen 2 in 6 ARC would you get the ranch 16" or standard 20"? Predator hunting and target shooting
Out of a BSF 24" I got 3002 avg out of 10. Box is close to spot on for gas guns
The 90 gr 6.5 cm load is amazing!
The 100 gr?
Does Wade guide hunts?
Will the 6 arc coyoteros ever come back? Lol
What about the TPH suppressor covers?
I do not guide , yes and maybe .

Intrigued how a 24” carbon wrapped AR barrel weighs and balances… Proof or X-caliber carbon barrel

Can’t confirm on 243 , but mag length a 62 eldvt won’t work in a 223 . Just looking at it any ways. Haven’t actually seated any yet.
It must be nice to have money! "Wade" 😁

We need better mags for 6ARC gas guns.

No problems with duramags , so far the 1 geissele mag I have hasn’t had a problem.

Hornady we don’t carry a goddamn musketoon with a 24” barrel! Stop hyping shit and come to reality with this stuff

Hornady shoots like shit out of my cmmg and satern barrel. My reloads shoot great.
