Maybe if they add an option to swap between the two.

Now that it's down, updates to the mod can be made through other mods, like the old liberty city map mod, it simply becomes the foundation for other mods to add upon. I remember the old mod, the traffic's, peds, interior, and vegetation+ prop addon, and all the texture pack was from different mods that was made to be compatible with the map mod. But its missing the euphoria engine.. which is imo a huge part of what made GTA4 awesome. Hopefully they tweaked the driving just a lil bit to be faithful to original? And what about the ragdoll physics
This is only an alpha so there’s plenty more to come in the future (if it lives) but I will say that the IV vehicles seem to take a lot more physical damage than normal.
I need roman's taxi cab in vanilla GTAV(Online) SO bad but I hope this mod gets properly integrated into some sort of public FiveM server so we can return to GTAIV Online, a lot of FiveM servers are very finnicky as none of them can quite emulate vanilla GTA in how streamlined it is to just get in freemode and start messing around with randoms. I'd rather just go and finish my GTAIV story mode save I've been forgetting to continue for the past 4 years if this is just some empty sandbox with nothing to do other than look at it.
"so we can return to GTAIV Online" You know you can just play Multiplayer, on GTA IV? It still works on all platforms, and there's GTA Connected if you don't want to deal with GFWL on PC.
I was in 5th grade when gta IV dropped. Took a lot of asking to get it from my parents. But. When I did play it was a blast. I love gta if for what it is. Watching this is incredible I love that they kept everything. This looks official in a way
Hope they make a mod for a modern LC too, with notable buildings like the WTC One and the Central Park Pencil tower. Would be great if you could switch between both LC’s. They would add a lot the the LC skyline
This is really cool. But. I'd actually prefer it the other way around. A mod for GTAIV that adds the GTAV map. I much prefer playing 4 than 5. And i'm almost certain 6 is gonna feel like an Electronic Arts game for someone like me.
Personally I feel we’ll get a game closer to IV than V with VI. Some leaks showed damage to cars akin to GTA IV, and hopefully the euphoria physics will be as good or better than RDR2, which was much better than GTA V. I’m also hoping the story is less like an action movie and a bit more grounded (for GTA).
The License plate detail is chefs kiss - much like real life where NY introduced a newer White and Blue plate vs Older Cars having Yellow and Black plates
Not really imo. It's going to look old, that's how games work. Everything ages. Simply remaking old games over and over so they don't look outdated isn't a great solution. Resident Evil 1 came out in 1996, got a remake in 2002. Since that 2002 remake is now 23 years old, should we remake the remake? I think simply porting it to newer platforms and one day, Rockstar revisiting Liberty City in a new GTA game makes more sense.
@@koolaid33 Video game graphics peaked mid 2010s we can see this with Black Ops 3, Battlefield 1 & Uncharted 4. Ever since graphics have barley got better

This is one of the coolest map mods ever! It's not just beautiful, it's functional and gives us some imagination of what it would be like if Rockstar had released the DLCs
If your interested in this mod, I absolutely recommend downloading it right now, even if you aren't capable of installing it to your copy of GTA 5 or don't have GTA 5 on PC but plan on in the future. The original Liberty City port didn't get that much attention or hype since it really was just importing the map into GTA 5, however with all the attention and changes in this release, it makes it a prime target for Take-Two to DMCA and have removed. Same threat as the recent DCA3 (GTA 3 Dreamcast fan port) that people speculate Take-Two will attack also.

this mod is incredible. i wasn't expecting vehicles and radio stations to be included in the mod. planes even land at the airport. holy crap. i was so prepared for another shitty copy/paste port with bad lighting and no life. but this team actually pulled it off. it actually FEELS like i'm in liberty city again. and the sunny atmosphere of gta v along with the more modern cars of v in the traffic makes it feel like liberty city part 2, like an actual time difference. from the cold gloomy somber atmosphere of 2008, just 7 years after the world shattering event of 9/11, to the slowly healed but still historically scarred sunny days of 2025 nearly 20 years later. wow. wow. this is. THE mod. of all time. This team might actually be the one capable of making the community's dream of a full complete GTA world map possible. maybe several years into GTA VI. i can see it on the horizon... and it is glorious.

The fact this works and works the way it does is incredible. Might be the most impressive mod I’ve ever seen. Improving and tweaking the things they did is incredible. I truly hope it’s not targeted but I can’t see it being left available for long
Happy to see details like liberty state license plates and the correct emergency/government vehicles, hopefully they included the correct NY style siren sounds like the rumbler, a few LCPD vehicle mods have them, with those crazy high-rise antenna like lightbars for the LCPD highway patrol.
The attention to detail while modernizing the experience to feel refreshed is so cool
I can't wait for the 'Los Santos Preservation Project' in GTA 6
Imagine if take two buys this mod and make it the next gta online dlc
and now it's gone already
This is actually the craziest mod in pc history! This is legit a remaster in a sense. This is seriously scary.
There are so many servers that use this mod and it’s amazing
Five M?
5:00 i was almost certain this video wasn't going to talk about it and was about to search if someone checked out the swingset glitch in this, it's amazing to see it's still there and that it's not forgotten
can't wait to see the mod getting DMCA'd by Take2 Interactive
They’ve been relaxing a bit on taking down mods so fingers crossed this one gets to live
its not even illegal, Rockstar is going to get sued one day for taking down mods
@@evil1st rockstar has every right to take down mods that are just ports of older games assets, unless the whole map was made from scratch as a remake
@@Yoriichi24 i think that's the better solution, it might take a while tho but as long it's worth the effort
@@Yoriichi24 Just because they have every legal right doesn't mean they have every moral/ethical right to do it. I have every legal right to insult someone, that doesn't mean it's a moral decision I should make.
Thank you for this video! Very excited to see the detailed one soon
GTA V also use euphoria engine
ICEenchancer 4 GTA 4 mod is in the works for the original game, so this may be of interest to you instead
@@HeySlickThatsMeonly major change is how each game utilized the engine you just gotta tweak the settings back to gta iv’s physics
Euphoria is also in V, just like Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2
This looks phenomenal! I need to boot the old PC up for this.
It was taken down, last for less than a month, RIP
The ending was exactly as I was hoping to be, enjoying the LC view and the SUV comes flying 😂
I'm not gonna lie. This brought a tear to my eye. Looking forward to see where it goes from here
1:12 😂 anyone else notice the dude jump off the building haha
Hahaha that was me 😂
@@CaptainGlackhaha I thought it was NPC behaviour, very funny 😂
I need roman's taxi cab in vanilla GTAV(Online) SO bad
but I hope this mod gets properly integrated into some sort of public FiveM server so we can return to GTAIV Online, a lot of FiveM servers are very finnicky as none of them can quite emulate vanilla GTA in how streamlined it is to just get in freemode and start messing around with randoms.
I'd rather just go and finish my GTAIV story mode save I've been forgetting to continue for the past 4 years if this is just some empty sandbox with nothing to do other than look at it.
There is a version of this mod for FiveM so I would expect to see servers popping up soon!
This mod has the Esperanto
"so we can return to GTAIV Online"
You know you can just play Multiplayer, on GTA IV? It still works on all platforms, and there's GTA Connected if you don't want to deal with GFWL on PC.
@@BDozer666 nah
I was in 5th grade when gta IV dropped. Took a lot of asking to get it from my parents. But. When I did play it was a blast. I love gta if for what it is. Watching this is incredible I love that they kept everything. This looks official in a way
Hope they make a mod for a modern LC too, with notable buildings like the WTC One and the Central Park Pencil tower. Would be great if you could switch between both LC’s. They would add a lot the the LC skyline
They should do the old World Trade Center since there is a mod for that in gta iv.
I’m also hoping the story is less like an action movie and a bit more grounded (for GTA).
hey, niko, lets go bowling! :D
The License plate detail is chefs kiss - much like real life where NY introduced a newer White and Blue plate vs Older Cars having Yellow and Black plates
GTA 4 finally runs good on pc!
first time I could cross bridges without stutter and FPS drops lol
Same man it runs so fucking smooth just cruising with Online cars
My PC: Finally I can die! (because y'all already know that ya can't play shit with 4 GB RAM crappy computer like mine lmao 💀)
It runs fine on my computer, but my comp isnt a pos

Video immediately gets to the point? Liked and shared.
Is this an AI voice over? The way the voice said “GTA f-ivE” at 2:27 😅😂
Nah I had to stitch it together because I said the wrong thing 😂
Ahahah I thought the same thing 😂
this is how i expected gta definitive edition was going to be
The mod has been taken down...
i rarely comment, but i strongly appreciate the use of the pure pool soundtrack. well done man 👍👍
So how long until rockstar takes this down?
Wow I wasn't expecting to hear the Pure Pool soundtrack on a random GTA video!
Ahhh that's where I recognize it from! excellent choice of music, gotta love that smooth jazzy soundtrack.
ACTUAL metro trains in GTA V?
I feel like Rockstars eventual Magnum Opus will be something similar to this, being able to travel to multiple maps and city’s from all of there games
Need a gta 4 remake, the original looks rough nearly 17 years later.
I also just need a version you dont have to install several mods to have playable on PC
It looks good and you're an idiot
Nah it still looks great.
If only i were a modder... it was always my dream to have Liberty City in current time. Just imagine the bridge finally finished. The old casino renovated or placed with a small dirt airstrip, different stores, the old hospital gone, something else built there... also Romans burned cab depot now being something else and so on.
Project has been taken down :-(
1:50 damn the airport, i remember the days in multiplayer where everyone would handout there and just fuck around lmao sticky bombs were so much fun
Okay, yep. This has been done *very well*
Amazing recreation of gta 4! I wish it had the same rag doll physics from GTA 4
This would be absolutely perfect with some actual global illumination.
This is one of the coolest map mods ever! It's not just beautiful, it's functional and gives us some imagination of what it would be like if Rockstar had released the DLCs
I’d pay for this. I feel truly betrayed that we did not get an LC DLC Rockstar has to have LC in VI.
Swing glitch warms my heart, that was hours of fun as a kid lmao
If your interested in this mod, I absolutely recommend downloading it right now, even if you aren't capable of installing it to your copy of GTA 5 or don't have GTA 5 on PC but plan on in the future. The original Liberty City port didn't get that much attention or hype since it really was just importing the map into GTA 5, however with all the attention and changes in this release, it makes it a prime target for Take-Two to DMCA and have removed. Same threat as the recent DCA3 (GTA 3 Dreamcast fan port) that people speculate Take-Two will attack also.
0:35 [...] the attention to detail in this mod is second to none [...]
WTF dude? Do you hear what you say? Do you hear your VO when editing? Did you wrote this error just so I noticed it and be annoyed by it? Because you won, and got this comment for engagement
this mod is incredible. i wasn't expecting vehicles and radio stations to be included in the mod. planes even land at the airport. holy crap. i was so prepared for another shitty copy/paste port with bad lighting and no life. but this team actually pulled it off. it actually FEELS like i'm in liberty city again. and the sunny atmosphere of gta v along with the more modern cars of v in the traffic makes it feel like liberty city part 2, like an actual time difference. from the cold gloomy somber atmosphere of 2008, just 7 years after the world shattering event of 9/11, to the slowly healed but still historically scarred sunny days of 2025 nearly 20 years later. wow. wow. this is. THE mod. of all time. This team might actually be the one capable of making the community's dream of a full complete GTA world map possible. maybe several years into GTA VI. i can see it on the horizon... and it is glorious.
I've always wished to fly a plane in liberty city
Lol
Man, I have some very fond memories playing GTA IV when I was a kid. Used to play it with my nephew who passed away in 2012 in a car crash.
It would’ve been amazing to be able to play this with him.
Love playing this mod and hope rockstar don’t take this down. Want to see if they cloud do other maps from crime games like Saints Row 2’s Stilwater, to see how they play in gta 5
Damn, we really got GTA 4 in GTA 5 before GTA 6
...aaaand it's gone.
Those old GTAIV airport death matches were awesome. Good times man
5:22 birds are stuttering wtf
Rockstar editor glitch I assure you!
Fuck the birds, we got Liberty City.
The biggest question of all is: Is the Swingest of Death included !!!!!
R* is proud, Take-Two is mad
Liberty City best city in GTA.
Its a shame they never put this in gta online. Would definitely bring some life back into the game.
💯%
Great video BTW, and the ending especially😅
I hope Liberty city is in gta 6. Sure the liberty city map was cut from gta 5 as a dlc, but would rather see it in gta6. Maybe they could add it in online as they have kind have a road map from gta6 then gta5, as gta5 wasn't suppose to last.
Videos like this that bring attention to something like this are usually the final nail in the coffin
Just want to point out that I think you used the phrase "second to none" wrong in the beginning. The way you phrased it made it seem like there was almost no attention to detail, yet you go on to state that there's a high level of it later in the video
Second to none means best. You don't take second place to anybody else, you are in first place, the best, the highest quality
Holy fuck it is so faithful and accurate to the original. You even nailed the atmosphere, which is no easy feat. Phenomenal work modders!!!
What are the chances of take two taking this mod down like they did with other gta map mods before the release of the definitive edition
Hopefully they’ve relaxed a little, I think (and hope) this one will survive.
To be honest you broke my eye using discord light mode
