Also, that inkey list cleanser reminds me of the Laroche possay Lipkar wash, which I use on face and body. It has that exact texture, and looks very similar in terms of the silky, non-bubbly lather it produces. At least from just looking at it, they seem similar to me.

for the FIRST TIME someone said this....ugghhh!! why are suncreens so expensive and comes in only 50ml bottle while cleansers and moisturisers come in large quantities...the most important step of skincare, the spf comes in tiny bottles which are supposed to be used atleast two to three times a day and not only on our face but neck, hands etc too!!

Kinza Hayat YES! It’s so hard to trust a brand that does this because it’s obvious that they want you to repurchase it more quickly. Those decisions aren’t made by accident.

    • @juanmarquez2804
      @juanmarquez2804 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

I think that's because once you open a sunscreen you're not supposed to use it for a long time, they expire quite quickly. But anyway, I don't think it's ok to charge so much for such a tiny amount of product. So I'm ok with facial sunscreens being sold in tiny packages, but I'm not buying the expensive ones hahaha

I like the way you say “someone at fenty has been working hard” because yes Omg so many people just credit Rihanna whether the launches are good or bad but it really is the scientists in the back hired by the brand making the moves & it’s nice to think about it in terms of “oh the team in charge of this brand has been doing better” as opposed to writing off brands entirely due to a bad launch (I lowkey feel like people like jaclyn hill made me forget that makeup/skincare isn’t the invention of one singular person lol)

Using sunscreen ingredients that are only available in the US is a bad thing, not a good thing because the US is severely limiting the kinds of sunscreen ingredients that are approved. Amazing how glow recipe turned the marketing on that around and made that sound like a good thing, lol

@@kkstars369 there's lots of good sunscreen filters that are approved and used in Asia, Australia and Europe that protect against the sun in a more stable and broad spectrum way that are also way more tolerated on the skin. But the US is being archaic here. Check out Dr. Dray's sunscreen videos on TH-cam if you're interested. :)

    • @trala8911
      @trala8911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

But it is a good thing. If all you’re interested in is the “best” product, then I guess it’s a bad thing. But if what you’re interested in is a sunscreen that can be widely available in the US (so that more people use it) and which tries to balance being high quality with being FDA approved (and if you don’t know what you’re doing with sunscreen or any medicalised skincare product, FDA approval is something to look for) then it’s a good thing. It’s not just about making skincare for the people who have the time, money and energy to seek out products from an international market and import them. It’s also about making quality skincare available for the average person.

I started subbing to beauty channels a little less than a year ago, it was when Jeffree left L.A. for Wyoming, and apologized for past behavior. I heard he was controversial but since I came along, Jeffree has neither started, nor been involved in, any controversy. He seems to be a very nice man and is really trying to make amends. With that being said, Jeffree has only been gone approximately a year, and I do not believe that is a long-enough amount of time for anyone to really change. 3. We stan be minimalist cuz they've now gone out of their way to prove their distinct identity and I'm glad I can enjoy TO experience without having to worry about custom and other tax. Their sunscreens are amazing!
      5. Kaama might have decent products in the name of ayurveda but most of their products will only work on unproblematic skin, if you have medically diagnosed acne or stubborn melasma it's overhyped.
      6. Absolutely hate mama earth and don't even get me started on lakme and their migraine inducing fragrance.

Um, I didn't know TO's Anhydrous Salicylic Acid was hyped.
As far as I could tell, many didn't like it. At least that was the case when I bought it.
But, me, yeah it was the first product I've ever used that became a holy grail... And is responsible for the healthy, smooth, acne-free complexion I currently flaunt.
I have combo-dry skin, especially in winter, which is when I started using the product. It was so moisturizing and really helped me combat the dry winter months.
Of course, I purged from Week 2 until my 30 Day mark, and it didn't do much for my pores, but oh.em.gee did it help with my hormonal breakouts.
While it is oily (its base is squalane) I found after a week or two of use it absorbed much better into my skin, and a little goes a long way. I would also apply a couple hours before putting head to pillow so that wasn't a huge concern for me. And I only used in the PM so AM + makeup application wasn't a concern.
It also worked SOOOO well underneath my moisturizer. I absolutely loved it. It made my moisturizer so silky.... *chefs kiss*
I did experiencing some tightness in my temple, upper cheeks and jawline about 2-3 weeks in, but that's when I incorporated Marine Hyaluronics into my routine (before the Anhydrous Solution) and that feeling went away immediately.
My skin was just dehydrated, even though I was moisturized to the high heavens.
That product (combined with a good cleanser and moisturizer) singlehandedly changed my skin. It changed the texture of my skin, it improved my breakouts, and it evened my skin-tone.
I never knew my temples or lower jawline (near my earlobes) could be so smooth and soft. I've dealt with rough bumps for 20 years and assumed that was just my skin and it would never get better.
I do attribute a lot of fhe success to the squalane itself.
I learned just how wonderful it is and how much my skin just loves it. But I get that it's a deterrent for oily-skin-peeps.
Now that the water-based 2% Solution is back and re-formulated, most oily-skin-peeps probably will gravitate towards that, but I'd still argue that the Anhydrous is good for everyone, especially sensitive-skin-peeps... As it was the most gentle Salicylic acid product I've ever used. Hands down wonderful. Never a single issue besides the slight dehydration (not dryness).
And, too, like I said, a little goes a long way. So one doesn't need to slather it on. Just a couple drops across the face will do. Or spot treat. This formula works miracles on active breakouts. I can't count the times I dabbed on to a big ol' nasty zit, and woke up the next day to nothing or a way less inflamed and angry zit.
I am the biggest cheerleader for this Anhydrous Solution.
I think it's magical and I implore anyone new tto Salicylic Acid, or those who love squalane and clear skin to give this a try.
To be honest, I prefer it to the new and re-formulated solution.
    I'm not a huge fan of TO's water-based serums.
But if you are, all the power to you.
One last thing: a lot of the negative comments came from people who weren't moisturizing while using this product.
I get that it has squalane, but that's not enough in and of itself.
The squalane in this formula acts as a carrier... To prevent the irritation and discomfort associated with SA, but is not meant to replace moisturizer. I would recommend that all people lock this solution in with a good moisturizer, even a light one, to prevent discomfort. And maybe add a good HA, too.
That said, yeah, this product is a personal favourite. And I'm pretty picky and critical of hyped brands and products.

Hi Cassandra! I'd absolutely LOVE to see u making a geeky video about pH! lol haha, how important is our products' pH when it comes to layering them! pleasee

I am so curious bc in my routine I layer my products by their consistency (oily-water based, etc) BUT sometimes I see myself using a serum of pH 6 first.. and then an acid (azelaic, vitamin C, tranexamic, salycilic etc) bc the product consistency is thicker, heavier, oily or creamy, but honestly I don't know how much that affect their how they work on my skin.

After using the Jeffree skin for a solid 14 days(I haven’t switched anything) I will say I’m quite impressed with the quality and results. I really look forward to it now, maybe it’s the smell or the glow the mist gives, but I am really enjoying the products. I find I really like both the melt and cleaners although I don’t wear makeup, it feels very nice on my combo skin and doesn’t ever make me feel “stripped”. My skin looks probably the best it has in a long time truth be told but that could be from me just really trying to test these out and putting more effort in to see what results I get. The toner is great, I find it very nice and enjoyable. The moisturizer and eye cream are solid gold to me. I have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. It doesn’t irritate or turn it red, the scent is light enough but still enjoyable. It just feels so good on my skin and I really enjoy it more than the previous products I was using. The lip mask isn’t my thing and the glow mist is one of my favorite new products I’ve tried. Maybe it’s just the feeling or the look but I really enjoy and I notice a huge difference in the moisture, look, and feel of my skin. If you are on the fence, give one of the products and shot. I find them all to be great quality and wouldn’t see why you’d walk away disappointed.

Those are results I would like from my skincare and these products have produced those outcomes for myself. I’m sure everyone is different but they work for my skin.

I've been using the makeup remover, cleanser, toner, and moisturizer for a little over a month. there's more efficacious and "better" products out there (no fragrance, no alcohol). there's no need to run out and by J* skincare products.
that said, i'd be a frigging liar if i say i don't like his products. first, they do a great job at what they advertised to do. second, they dont cause any problems for me. last, and here's why i would buy J* again, these products gave me a fun, enjoyable experience that encourages me to keep taking care of my skin. the scent and texture of products make me feel good about my routine and myself. overall, J* is worthwhile for me because it adds a lil lux and selfcare moment by punctuating my routine filled with no frills, "we're just here to do our jobs" products, without charging an arm and a leg.

Just started using The Ordinary Salicylic Acid (old version) 2x/day for my 56 year old acne (f#@$%&!) and no new breakouts! Hooray!

The Biossance gel cream and the algae eye cream is sooooo good. It just moisturizing enough and doesn't make me greasy nor break out. Their vitamin c / squalane is also amazing

@@nstar72 I have combo but I lean more oily. The gel cream and rectivan lotus cream are literally the only kind I can use. Everything else breaks me out. The Biossance omega cream was nice but too thick for me. The gel cream is perfect

I’d like to hear your thoughts on Jeffree. I don’t buy his things but I do constantly see very polarizing opinions. I would want a more educated conversation. Up to you tho!

RNW has a ceramide serum that includes multiple ceramides and peptides. I loved using it during the winter months. That Summer Fridays serum looks very interesting.

The RNW Ceramide Mist and Serum is great! Also love the Celimax Dual Barrier line especially the Creamy Toner. And the BePlain Bamboo Ampoule is a nice light ceramide option.
