Guys I’ve been trying to work at my skin for the last couple years. I’ve done it all; actives galore, over exfoliating, under exfoliating, face brushes etc. But if there’s one thing you should prioritize; it’s your skin barrier. I was neglecting my barrier and using all kinds of anti acne actives : differin gel, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, hydrocolloid patches and I was still breaking out. I don’t wear makeup during the day just spf, so I would only use micellar water and gel cleanser afterwards thinking I was double cleansing but a balm is a must you guys, it unclogged the shit outta of my face. The one I use is by the inkey list it’s the oatmeal balm and it’s a holy grail tbh. Secondly, I limit myself to 1 (2 tops) actives at a time (vitamin c & niacinamide) in the day time, (retinol/azalaic alternatively) along with a gentle aha and bha mix. Another game changer is that I use squalene after my serums every time and it made my barrier that much stronger.

The 2 biggest skincare scandals of 2020 combined is the bigger blast to me than all of these 20 cases combined; Susan Yara's skincare line launch & Purito's sunscreen.
Hi Cassandra, I was lucky enough to find you a few weeks ago and have been learning so much! I see so many trends of DIY skincare such as the bella Throne one where she's putting lemon, honey, milk, and olive oil directly on her skin. I've been wondering if this really works and is even safe. Would you mind making a video focusing on why these skincare Trends are dangerous. I think it would be very beneficial for a lot of people to hear. Thank you!! Happy New Year!
Lemon makes the skin phototoxic and susceptible to damage...same with orange oil that was added to a popular sunscreen brand 🤪IMO I love DIY masks like yoghurt n turmeric ...some of the DIY masks have actually helped me get rid of acne scarring
I am so glad to have found your channel and look forward to my new, better informed skincare routine for the coming few days. Keep up the lovely scientific content, bursting myths about skincare and most importantly creating a community of informed consumers. Lots of love and positive vibes ✨ 💕
My mom has EXTREMELY dry skin so she’s been using the Nivea creme since i can remember.but as she’s been aging, she’s obviously gotten more dry leading her to mix it with either olive oil or pomegranate seed oil since her skin doesn’t react to them. BUT she’s obviously still aging even though she looks really young for her age and doesn’t claim olive oil to be her “secret” to staying young despite what JLO’s stating😂
I actually mix an oil into my moisturizer every night! I think she's got a good idea. I use rose hip seed oil or squalene or jojoba. I had a very dry irritated phase and sitting around with honey on my clean face for like 15 minutes helped soothe and it felt like it hydrated, maybe you can get her a little honey jar D:
That last minute or two though 🖤🦋 wishing you a healthy, happy, empowering, enlightening, and stable new year! I love you and appreciate you!! Looking forward to the next year of memories filled full of cringes, tears, smiles and laughs!

Yeah, like Dr Dray is such a nice person and always gives valuable genuine specialised advice, trying to keep it low budget and she just say that The Ordinary should tone it down with their claims, they're fine but not wow.
I kinda agree. Like the paris one wasnt even to do with the skincare. It was just that she misspoke. And the one about leaving the water running didn't have to do with his skincare.
Yeah ... totally. I was watching all these celebrity skincare routines last night. WTH is going on. who has the time and money to do an 18 step routine. I agree with Dr. D. I think that what you put in your body shows on your skin. I use the basics on my skin, eat super clean ( 80/20 rule off course, not cray cray ) don't smoke, exercise 4-5 days/week . I am 53. I am happy with my skin.
Okay okay wait Saje peppermint halo is in a roller and is diluted for direct skin contact. It's not as bad as direct contact - I use it when I become nauseated from long road trips in the past.

You're amazing and these contents are really eye opener🤩
“Your DNA is not a cell. You’re DNA is not a cell.” I could feel your pain for even having to clarify that 😂😂😂
It's 2023 and I'm glad I found your channel. Thanks for being such an awesome teacher! I've learned a lot about how to take care of my skin.
I love the humor ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Cassandra. This year is such a new journey for me on skincare world.
Totally random but your beautiful makeup at 14:30 just reminded me I need to buy some eyelashes 😂😂
Can't wait for more content from you in 2021! 😁😁
im a year late but cheers to 2022 lol i cant believe i just found this channel im IN LOVE
I’m pretty sure she’s not a big fan of diy skincare. Lemon is acidic for the skin and it’s best to stay away from diy-ing skincare
I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE ACID+DERMAROLLER INCIDENT! Horrible. Just horrible.
As someone who use the Ordinary peel and derma rolls (NOT TOGETHER), I cannot even imagine. This was the worst one I think!
I feel like the intro was what we all should have heard on January 1st at 00:00. Congratulations you survived 2020, you can now move on to the next level 2021!
I feel like most of these were just petty and over dramatic. There was maybe 3 that were actually cringe.
They were definitely all cringe 😱😱
Yeah, like Dr Dray is such a nice person and always gives valuable genuine specialised advice, trying to keep it low budget and she just say that The Ordinary should tone it down with their claims, they're fine but not wow.
I kinda agree. Like the paris one wasnt even to do with the skincare. It was just that she misspoke. And the one about leaving the water running didn't have to do with his skincare.
😂😂😂😂 I found you in last couple days but absolutely love your channel! Awesome video 😂
Love that you included yourself in the video as a cringe moment in the year 😂 love a self aware Queen!
I watch that dr dray clip whenever I need a reality check
You are my favorite TH-camr by far - I feel like all the other skincare content creators look up to you 😂
Happy New Year to you Cassandra...you have made me laugh when I didn't feel like it...thank you!
Yeah ...
And if an correct so are all their other roll ons.
I love you and my comment is coming from a place of love from an old fan of yours..
Easy on the condescending tone. I am happy now you speak "skin" better than before.. and massive congrats on that, however not all of those celebrities nor common people who make skin mistakes have the same access to the knowledge you have now. Thank you so much for all your advices.. truly appreciated ❤
Most of them are fabricating these routines to sell products they know don't work so it's deserved
@@interfearance3269 even those with DIYs skin care routine.. yes sure. Sponsored by the lemon trees and the avocado fields.
@@Saljarba87 Easy on the condescending tone whilst being incredibly condescending herself 👏🤣
OMG! I've forgotten all the times I yell this year, especially on tiktok. Thank you for remind me! KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK (each k is also a tear, as we say down here on the tropics)
That editing and the music though. On point. Love it.
Oh I know another cringe skincare moment! Susan Yara lying about her brand for months while promoting it and trash talking other brands in the process. And then she lied in her “apology”. That was SUPER unethical and cringe.
Stumbling upon your channel was one of the best things that happened to me in 2020 😄
I enjoyedd this video so much:) Laughed, cringed- all in one. Happy New Year Cass xx
Cassandra your comment on your last video where you were like "i'm the first hehehe" was HILLARIOUS to me idk why
Let’s not forget your video on Dr. Dray skincare video, that was definitely a choice and lives rent free on my mind.
☕️🐸
haha, if 2020 was Skincare, it'd be Bella's. Love your work
Loved this video! I had a laugh but mostly cringed 😭 Really glad I discovered your channel in 2020 though! Sending my love and appreciation xx 😊❤️
Love love love you content. Thank you for existing 💖
One of my highlights of 2020 for me was getting into skincare and your videos helped a lot in discovering the right way to do things! Thank you for that! I really hope for skincare line from you in 2021! Have a BEAUTIFUL YEAR!
I don't understand why people are so relieved that 2020 has ended, I mean, it was a thought year, but the years before weren't that better
You deserve the best 2021 cass🥺❤️
Hi Cassandra! Happy New Year! We survived 2020 but here's to a MUCH better 2021! Thank you for providing us with inspiration & motivation but most important of all a lot of laughs all throughout 2020. You were /are someone I could turn to during the darkest of times when I lost my great-grandma and grandad within two weeks of each other. I will forever be grateful for that. So yeah... Thank you! I hope 2021 will treat you, your loved ones, and the rest of us well! Cheers 🖤🖤
Happy New Year Girl !! 🥳 My best wishes for you and your family. ✨🤗
lmaooo, I love this video so much, I am watching it over and over
coming together to cringe in the early hours on Jan 2nd. #earlyuploadfam
Amen to everything you said Cassandra! Thankyou for all your wisdom and skin help in 2020, looking forward to 2021 and a much better, healthier, kinder year. 😍😍😍😍
Dr.Dray actually uses some of The Ordinary products now. Lol
She disliked the claims behind the Granactive Retinoid but she had already said nice things about the brand IIRC.
10:24 not only the diluted spf but her vitamin c serum was so oxidized LMAOOOO 💀💀💀
And did you see how little sunscreen she used in the first place
@@katarinal4382 yeah! that's not even enough for the back of my hand lol
Cassandra is here with the goods again!🤗 I'm so excited for this one! 💕💕
I clicked the video immediately when I saw Hyram In the thumbnail
Happy New year !!!!! Stay amazing...!!!!! Love from Crete island Greece!
Hyram made me cringe with how over dramatic he was in that video. I know it’s not a good product but come on man, plenty of people use it without issue. Don’t do the video if you’re barely gonna touch the products to your face. It was stupid.
Why. Why did she make a candle with the scent of her lady garden? Nicest word I could think of, who does that, just whaaaaa
