Thanks for another great video Matt! Version 2023.44.30.2 dropped this morning for my 2022 M3 RWD with EAP. All installed now, but I'm still on stack V11.1 after the update. 😔 Not expecting much of an improvement to AP or EAP, but I didn't really have too many complaints about it anyway. EAP can be a bit annoying when being persistent about changing lanes when there is really no reason to. I have speed based lane changes turned off. I suspect this might be related to inaccurate/outdated Google Maps info about the number of lanes available on the highway. And just one last comment on that.... You mentioned in a few of your previous videos about School Zones not being detected properly. Again, I suspect this is also map related. My M3 'detects' the 40km/h school zone of my kids' school, about 300m before the sign is actually visable to me due to an incline and trees obscuring it. There is no way the car can see it and it triggers the school zone at the same spot every day. Anyway, thanks for the informative video's and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🎄
Thanks. Sorry your comment got held for review for some reason 🤷♂️. The FSD software stack included in the background of the updates won’t show in car. The 11.1 showing is for the general software level. This update has FSD stack 11.4.9 included in the background. As far as I know AP and EAP functions use this stack. Ive done a bit of freeway driving lately and it was flawless. Only AP issues ive had on freeway before were aborted lane changes and a slight swerve at some exits. Haven’t had that yet with this update and really on the freeway I’ve been happy with it like you. 99% of the time it does a great job. Yes I think even the FSD beta guys in US have those lane change issues for no reason. It’s an ongoing issue like indicating left if you’re in a lane that is about to end or even suggesting to change into a lane that’s about end. I have EAP set to off by default and I just enable it if I feel like using it. Map data would be a big part of the issue but I have seen it loose school zone indication even when the map data hasn’t changed. The main software would be programmed to interpret the map data so either could cause navigation issues. We haven’t had a map data update for a while. Hopefully next map data update gives us the Waze like features.
Thanks again for showing us the latest update details mate. I've tested Autopilot a few times since getting this update as well, and I can't notice any difference. Mind you I always rest my hand on the steering wheel and rarely look away from the road or the screen.
I dropped something yesterday and went to retrieve it quickly from the passenger seat and it noticed straight away. Otherwise I’m same as you. It’s hard to notice the incremental improvements if any as you can have good or bad days anyway. I’ve got a fair bit of freeway driving to do in the next week so that will be a good test of consistency. Cheers John. Have a good break if you’re getting one!
Thanks Matt, for another interesting video. Here in the UK, speed camera alerts do not appear to work either, despite Tesla saying “ available in the UK”. You can change the custom lock sound without a boombox - bit of gimmick imo, but might amuse the grandchildren! Whilst the blind spot warning is useful it’s limited by only working when the indicator is used - my other EV has an orange warning light in the mirror casing which flashes whenever a car is in my blind spot, regardless of the indicators being operated. The new Highland M3 has a similar light in the speaker casing although not sure whether this indicates vehicle in the blind spot or only when the indicator is in use. Merry Xmas and look forward to your 2024 videos.
Thanks for your support Andy. The new highland blind spot indicator works without indicating. I guess this one is better than nothing. My previous cars to Tesla and my wife’s current car have proper blind spot warnings too. I didn’t know about the lock sounds for non boombox cars I will have to check that out on mine.
Yeah full autopilot is of very little use in the South Island of NZ, as we have only short lengths of motorway and really thats what its best at. Adaptive cruise control is useful, although it has a habit of slowing down when doesn't need to, so you end up with your foot hovering near the accelerator to override it!
I can imagine. It’s definitely best on long stretches though for multi lane highways. It’s so good for road trips as the bugs are a very small percentage of the overall trip. My trust of it changes daily and yes I have been using it for so long I know when to have my foot hovering too 😂
@@harrylo2316 I don’t really watch videos in the car. Seems a bit pointless anyway as it’s not really gone. Just another publicity stunt and it’s obviously worked as it’s a hot topic on all platforms. I don’t like to get involved. I’ve got more important real life things to worry about.
@@notinthemanual Well it's pretty easy ! Disney cannot risk their good name while Elon is supporting hate speech and the far right on his platform! I hope they will all stand together and leave so called *X* so that this platform goes bankrupt! How dare Musk support Trump and his cronies full well knowing what happened on January 6th 2020 !? Also why the hell is he, as the CEO of Tesla, supporting Republicans who don't give a damm about the environment in the first place ? If he doesn't like the Democrats fine, but why vote against his own interests ? It's like owning a cigarette company and at the same time joining an anti smoker movement ! How much longer will Tesla put up with his despicable behaviour harming Teslas reputation and credibility ?
You're lucky you didn't receive the boom box in your Y. I picked up my 3 around the same time you picked up your Your Y, and my car has it. My neighbour has the Y, and his car has it too
I was pretty relieved to find out my Y was built just before they started factory fitting them. Think it was a matter of a week. The 3 got them factory fitted much earlier. I’m not disappointed I missed out on the parcel shelf either 😜 The crappy part is they got rid of the normal horn so you can’t just put tape over the speaker like I did with my 3.
Got the .4 update today. Disappointed that Australians are getting the rough end of the pineapple with features. No speed cameras or parking visualisations.
Yes we missed out. I’d guess the extra map features won’t be far off. I’m mostly disappointed with that. Parking visuals are a good preview of things to come but I would have taken adaptive headlight functionality and reliable auto wipers over any of these things. I’ve got some freeway driving to do so I’m hoping AP has improved a little. It has just been getting worse.
@@AnarchyEnsues I have to reshoot some of the footage so it won’t be done for a while. I bought the Tesla roof shade before I saw the HaloBlk one. Both have their advantages which I compare in the video but the HaloBlk one is best overall. It has a reflective top side which works better. The glass roof is actually very good at taking the heat out of the sunlight but the glass itself heats up when the car is parked and that’s where the shades work best. Once you’re driving with airflow over the roof and the AC is running it’s fine. I actually bought all of the HaloBlk products myself except for the floor mats which they sent to me. I def recommend their roof shades. You can use my discount code but you might get a better deal on the global site depending on what sales they have going on.
Very informative video. Great to have Australian Tesla videos.

Does it give you a two beep warning everytime you engage auto pilot or it was just an isolated incident?
Pretty much every time within the first minute or so then it mostly leaves me alone but it is more sensitive to you not paying attention.
They also have removed the disney plus streaming app. If u already logged in before u probably fine. But mine is gone 😢
Easy fix. www.notateslaapp.com/news/1836/tesla-removes-disney-app-from-vehicles-heres-how-to-get-it-back
Probably intentional given their squabble with Elon. Disney is woke trash anyway so no great loss there.

Now that the Highland Model 3's no longer have Matrix Headlights, Matrix capability most likely won't come for some time or at all !
