They should still at least let us have an extra stratagem to use when the DSS is on a planet. The cooldown on the DSS abilities are already bad as it is and we can’t even do anything else with the DSS other than vote it to a planet to keep it safe. We need more options :(
There are literally missions where you have to evacuate science teams, so I don't think a shortage of scientists is the root cause. I would just assume planning a city sized space station would take way more time and money then liberating a planet and scooping up old plans.
It's funny, because canonically Super Earth cut corners during the station's production wherever they could, refusing to give the station proper *space station* things, like pressurization, or toilets. There's NO BATHROOMS on this thing, and the internal pressure is around the same as being on the peak of mount Everest, and they plug any hull breach caused by micro-meteorites with *DUCT TAPE* . Not only that, but they redirected funding and stole beds from the Super Citizens Anne's hospital for very sick children, among other civilian facilities without providing any compensation. And the Chaosdivers had to launch Operation BED-BUG to fix that whole hospital mess. Thankfully the Chaosdivers managed to collect the funds and fabricate new beds for the hospital.
On an unrelated note, The Ministry Of Truth have some comfy new beds in the barracks. Some even came with complementary writting untensles and scraps of paper under the bedding.
An Idea that I had was that one way to solve the issues of the planetary bombardment was to simply make the Orbital 380 strat free with no cooldown (or a very short cooldown) during that time. That way Helldivers could throw at will and be out of the radius. They could work it into the story that the gunners on the dss have been retrained and now take their fire orders from Helldivers on the ground rather than firing indiscriminately.
Another addition to the stagnation theory, is that the Commando is literally the same Commando from the First Galactic War, we liberated a stockpile of them when we took X-45 and now we are using them.
after the first galatic war the helldiver core was disbanded and I think super earth didnt care that much to invest in technology for defense purposes like making the DSS, but rather focus resources on colonization and such. So I think they just forgot about how we make it
That controlled chaos that the DSS brought to the battlefield is the kind of chaos I thrive in. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though I felt bad for my teammates dying in droves to its barrages.
I did enjoy the feel of it too. It made it feel more like a BIG battle rather than just a couple dudes with a little spaceship support. It had more the feel of a grand battle of the future. It just wish it kept them a littttle further away from the players, not no unintentional hits, just less lol.
I usually didn’t feel bad but was annoyed. I didn’t like the barrages but at least I took the equipment to not randomly die to them. Energy shield is enough. Everyone else for some reason just chose to take light armor, no protection at all, die as expected, complain about dss.
The dss lore isn’t wacky. It’s beautiful. The orrbital bombardments was the most patriotic thing I’ve ever seen, now I won’t see it again probably. The crydivers may have won the battle, well and the war… fuck the crydivers.

I agree, a rotating random stratagem would be a very nice bonus. A little something at least.
Id love it if the eagle storm and orbital barrage reduced the cooldowns of their respective elements
I was playing last night and the eagle storm was incredible effective. I'm pretty happy with how it's operating so far.
Mabey like an extra bombardment stratagem or eagle stratagem. Would be nice.

1.3million workers. That’s a lot of Beans and Super-heated bread to feed them all….

Don’t forget the Terminid Research Preserve on Acamar 4 used to research more efficient E-710

Why would Super Earth bother creating new plans for a space station when there is already plans for it that simply just need to be liberated?

Arrowhead needs to get testers huh (thanks to barrage from DSS)
SES Patriot of Patriotism reporting in
What if we mixed helldiver and bug dna to make tougher divers
But hey atleast future man said we won soo its not to bad
The title lies. It’s not a legend💀
