you forgot to mentioned another main important data deletion..And that is the remote wireless garage opener. Especially one when u sell the car one usually forgets to delete the garage door opener. I guess it could be due to its location? You dont want the new seller to drive by your house and open the garage door....eeeks
PS: to delete the remote garage (if equipped) is to hold 1st and last button together for good couple of seconds. (atleast thats how it is on lexus and volvos i havw owned)

The tire pressure sensor also can be tracked by law enforcement since it has a wireless signal and a car specific signature.

Hmm. Am I the only one to have thought of this? Lots of cars have self-driving tech _and_ hardwired network connections now. Could there be a more perfect assassination device? This is why I will never get in a car with self-driving if the US government is even slightly annoyed with me.

I also set my home location on the GPS not to my actual house. But to a location a block or so from my actual house. So that way, if a thief steals your car, the thief won't know your address and come back for a second helping. And besides, if you're a few miles from your house, chances are, you'll know how to get back home.
But then again, if a thief looks hard enough, they probably could find your insurance ID card.

I don’t know if that would be true. In my state, insurance companies are heavily regulated and don’t get to make their own rates arbitrarily. However, your state or experiences may vary.

Anywhere there's a magnet, they can hear you, you'll never get away from the audible stalking, but you CAN eliminate their controlling features from your life by simply living old school (90'back vehicle, land line phones instead of smart phones,Nintendo instead of Playstation). I understand their security side of it but I refuse to trade my security for their insecurities, I'm also a person who's rear brakes locked like a momentary keyboard button push randomly one time in 5 years at a famous intersection known for beaching cars like whales on concrete center divider, I believe newer cars can receive remote commands from lord knows who accessing driving controls, I could spend the rest of my life pursuing proof that driving controls on servo operated vehicles are remotely hackable or I can keep it simple and stick to old cars, I'll keep it simple...also "he died on impact, case closed" good luck on getting a real investigation...ask them for schematics lol

my car has a disclosure right in front of owner's manual saying it constantly tracks how you are driving speed brakes and steering and sends that info back to Toyota for analysis and will provide it to the police on request.
