It doesn't matter if you turn that stuff off or not. There was a news reporter who took a phone that was activated and one that wasn't all over Washington DC throughout the day and then analyzed the data at the end of the day for both phones. The one that wasn't activated was tracked and shared just as much data as the other one that was activated.

@Bee Rich, "old?" I'm 67 and don't have any issues with smartphones. I also have a background in computers and electronics. As an over-the-road driver I'd be sitting somewhere bored so I started going into Settings and Permissions to see what's what and basically taught myself how to set up and turn off things I didn't want on. A lot of young people probably couldn't handle using my phone because I've turned off so much crap I consider to be useless or just not needed.
Too bad you can't attach screenshots to comments. My wife texted me a single frame cartoon of two dogs conversing. The one describing his human, saying, "He's great around dogs, but unpredictable and snappy around other people." The following day, an ad popped up on my phone on YT selling a custom hoodie sloganed, "Walk away. I'm a grumpy old man. I love dogs more than people..." Coincidence?
Some of the stuff you are showing...my phone doesn't show that...like Privacy & Security...I have a Privacy, but nothing like you are showing...a couple of other things you show I do not have as well, and have no idea...I am not real saavy to Androids...I always owned an Apple until recently..always felt safe with it. I had to get a new phone due to mine being so old...wouldn't do much but make calls. I have a Samsung A10e..only one I could afford. Any idea where I can find out if my phone is safe?
Ok, All these steps for phone security precautions are greatly appreciated. And I pretty much did them step by step. For some reason, I don't have any apps in my Samsung folder so I couldn't do that one. Also, I did the google data backup. But I didn't do the last step, to do a Factory reset, because I was not ready to have to re-download all my apps, and I'm not sure how to get all the data and pictures back that would be wiped. Need more explaination there about how that's supposed to work. Since "all else fails" doesn't apply, I won't worry about it.
There are so many things that you're addressing at one time and going so fast it's hard to keep up and and use them. Do you have a book or a pamphlet or something that someone can buy that we could use? That would be so wonderful. Thanks

how do you guys have 2 days of battery ?? My s22 ultra says 1 day and 1 hour Can you please advice -> i have switched off every important setting which drains battery
Time was when this happened w wristwatches. Long before Apple. They kept adding more and more functions. Eventually, ppl got fed up w spending all their time putting everything on their watches and watches went back to just telling the time and being an item of jewelry. I think we all fell for a major and very, very expensive scam either by govt or companies or both and one day, when y'all are old (I'm already there), young folks are going to be amazed at the stupidity of our era.
Pixel phones don't use Gallery, they use Photos. There are some other differences in the Settings menus as well, so you might have to dig around a little to find all of these hacks if you aren't using a Samsung phone. Also, phone heating up - yes, take a look at your apps, I found that there was a radio station streaming app that was continuously running in the background. Once I changed the background settings for that app, my phone cooled down and the battery life returned to normal.
I went through every single app and was surprised to find that the vast majority of them were using background battery and data I shut all of that off and I never had a problem with my phone overheating since although it did take a long freaking time
That term "IOT," stands for "Internet of Things," and I think some of what he mentions is about how radiowaves, specific frequencies, can send waves to coffee makers, refrigerators, Bluetooth devices, etc. to activate a device--a thing--in the IOT. Ring *pecuniary backdoors* are a very common IOT. I hope this man returns to the show.
My old phone used to randomly go to the lock screen, or turn the volume up or down without the buttons being touched. It scared me into wiping my phone to factory settings and it stopped
This is spooky. Just noticed under my call forwarding, there is a number set to when busy, not answered, unreachable all going to it. I can't turn it off or change it
How do we know for sure that any of these actions actually work? For example, using incognito mode, do you really trust Google not to be monitoring your history then?
Even IF you do all of these, google pretty much knows everything. They will know your device type, your ip address (so your physical address) etc. Go read google privacy policy.

I don't have "supplementary services" but when I did #*61# it showed my calls and videos are being forwarded after 20 seconds. How do I get rid of that?
Thanks, Here is the "savage" method: Block your camera(s) physically, play a loud nice music in a room where your phone (and not you!) is. Close the door not to go insane, AND wrap an aluminum foil round your phone whenever you want it not to interact with the towers. Note: call the phone to make sure it's "out of service". 😅 Semi-Savage method: Root (remove the stock OS) your phone first, then follow the video. Avoid the products of the same company as your OS or the phone company, disable third party apps tracing you. you are like 10% secure then.
Thank you I'm just picking up on this slowly thank use your beautiful channel is so amazing, going to check it out I got use install in my library thank you 😊
At approximately 15:13, a screen shot is suggested so it can be used as evidence. To be presented to whom? How do you get an online perpetrator to go to court and prove such individual harmed you (stole data, money, etc)?

Curious. Is that a 22 Ultra? If so, I'm wondering if you are having the same issue as myself and 2 other people I have found. Issue 1:- When typing messages, notes, comments etc, after writing beyond the screen, every time you scroll to the bottom or press somewhere to change a spelling or fix gramma, the phone will immediately scroll to the top. Every time! Issue 2:- When typing within an App such as TH-cam, Tik Tok, or even when you report a number, the phone will freeze and the App will stop responding. Issue 3:- I'm in the middle of a 5G area and it never works. This phone is actually worse than my S10 I still have. The S10 has better reception and WIFI too. This is a new phone since Xmas and it's been doing it since day one. I've found two other people it does it to also. I've had Samsung phones mostly and a few Apple, and never have I had this problem. Wondering if anyone else has these issues?
Yes. This whole phone thing has become down right stupid beyond all sense. Not only are we missing our real lives, but we are putting ourselves in perpetual danger. Also, we are enabling criminals, even raising them like little kids who are learning how to harm ppl and thinking its cool instead of learning the useful tasks of living. BTW, these are federal crimes. It's time we stopped.
Thanks guys, you have really raised my awareness of what your phone can do behind the scenes without your permission. The ph. manual does not include your expert knowledge. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 It is so much more than just a tool to make phone calls and check emails etc . I have hit that subscribe button.

I'm staying in my car with my kid and my dog. I continuously report things that happen. I'm praying it's the cops watching and not the bad guys..still.
You have yo be careful with recording others however. In certain states you need the other parties permission to record them. In Massachusetts you can not record anyone without their permission. It's a federal offense to record someone in Mass without their express permission and land you in jail. Regardless of the circumstances in which you recorded them. I also know some states don't always require this so make sure about the laws of recording someone in your own states.
Hi Aeriko56, thanks for bringing this up! Recording laws vary from state to state, so it's always important to check the laws in your own state before recording someone. My phone is randomly saying "Back Online" in the bottom of the screen in a green box. But only during certain times and more often when I drive around.
Rooting is really only good for recovering data that was deleted on an old phone no longer in use. In order for a data recovery app to be installed and to actually work . .. it's usually required that the phone be rooted first. At this point, it doesn't matter if the phone loses its ability to be fully secure because it's been abandoned and replaced for a newer model phone anyway and the only reason it's being rooted is to recover data someone intentionally deleted data on. Law enforcement and or detectives use such tricks to reveal leads in unsolved cases. Sometimes its used by a significant other in a relationship to discover unanswered questions about the activities of their partner after the phone has been replaced and left in a drawer someplace.

No one can track me. Because I never take my phone with me. I leave it at home. If they track me they just know that i never carry my phone and it's left in the same space all the time.
If your phone is heating up and the battery is going quicker than normal you may be in a low signal area and your phone is constantly looking for a signal or good signal.

The nice thing about android is in the future you will be able to use third party distributions like linux. I am sure phone companies will continue to try and lock phones to their OS and/or network. Network is the huge change that will happen in the next 5-10 years, though. We most certainly won't be using the same protocols.
I did #19 and under "devices" it said ...."Remove your account from IPhone." It also said that it's been inactive for 123 days and said to remove this device so that it no longer has access to my device. GREAT, GREAT INFO! I had no idea all this could be done. You guys rule!
I remember that! I'm not too worried, cuz I truly don't care. My kids say I throw off this "F" with me vibe that scares people away from me. Then I was raised by a crazy "faded away" Marine. How many civilians, (do you know) can be upside down, blindfolded, break down any gun, clean it, re-oil it, put it back together correctly? Well, I can, so again I'm not too worried!!

@@CajunRed I had an older brother that sounds like you. He first served in the Army, then afterwards reinlisted in the Air Force, finally retiring. I had a question, though if you might know, where I live my cell service barely works, and in my house, there's nothing. So I was thinking about checking into a satellite phone. I see them in uses like over big waters. And I wonder if and who might track them. Companies that sell them are tight lipped when asking questions. Thanks for any advice, and THANK YOU for your service. We need men like you in the leadership of our armed services and getting rid of all the wokesters.
@JamesJohnson: wish I could help you. But my Dad was in between 58-63; I don't know if they had that type of technology back then. I wasn't even born then. I have no idea what a satellite phone even looks like! Sorry!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for sharing your technical knowledge with us normal, and esp "OLD" people who didnt grow up with this technology. 😁
"Old" people know that they are not that interesting for someone to actually care enough to track...

It's great to see a TH-cam video with people that speak at a normal speed. And not having cartoon like gestures.
Too bad you can't attach screenshots to comments. My wife texted me a single frame cartoon of two dogs conversing. The one describing his human, saying, "He's great around dogs, but unpredictable and snappy around other people."
The following day, an ad popped up on my phone on YT selling a custom hoodie sloganed, "Walk away. I'm a grumpy old man. I love dogs more than people..."
Coincidence?
Some of the stuff you are showing...my phone doesn't show that...like Privacy & Security...I have a Privacy, but nothing like you are showing...a couple of other things you show I do not have as well, and have no idea...I am not real saavy to Androids...I always owned an Apple until recently..always felt safe with it. I had to get a new phone due to mine being so old...wouldn't do much but make calls. I have a Samsung A10e..only one I could afford. Any idea where I can find out if my phone is safe?
Thanks for making this easy to understand. You guys did an awesome job.
Thanks so much, Liv!
@@PayetteForward hi I have a A13 android. and I have a question for you guys? On my phone where it says data background, should I turn it OFF???
Thanks

Really really getting close to throwing this phone in the creek.

Good info! I had a library app that did the same thing.
I went through every single app and was surprised to find that the vast majority of them were using background battery and data I shut all of that off and I never had a problem with my phone overheating since although it did take a long freaking time
Nice video and review 👍

Really good information you guys, thank you for such a great information to keep us safer 🙏🙏 I suscribed and liked your videos.
Quick question... Doesn't reputable "Antivirus Software," installed on all devices, stop all these issues dead in their tracks ? 🤔
Thank you very much for making this video, im now putting more security and disabling some suspicious stuff!
Good but they just go quickly onto the next situation
My old phone used to randomly go to the lock screen, or turn the volume up or down without the buttons being touched. It scared me into wiping my phone to factory settings and it stopped
This is spooky. Just noticed under my call forwarding, there is a number set to when busy, not answered, unreachable all going to it. I can't turn it off or change it
Is it your own number, for your message box?

Semi-Savage method: Root (remove the stock OS) your phone first, then follow the video. Avoid the products of the same company as your OS or the phone company, disable third party apps tracing you. you are like 10% secure then.

Why do you buy so many phones?

For people like me this vid was so very useful, but people like me need a little more time to get to the details perhaps you could slow down just a bit. You are going at the speed that others who already know these things would follow easily . But not a 70 year old, still thanks so much for this it was really helpful .

Or you can turn the speed down to slow.

We appreciate you taking the time to share this information with us. We'll be sure to keep it in mind for future videos. 🤗

Document and get a court order to record. If you are being stalked, it is a Federal crime in all 50 states. Protect yourself and help the authorities help you.
