This tutorial goes over how to use envelope distort within Adobe Illustrator to create extremely simple yet powerful effects on type! The end results only create a few seconds to create, and allow you to change and edit your type even after you've applied the effect.
A huge time saver once you get used to it, and should you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in the comments! =)

Wow. This is insane. I've been using Illy for 20 years or so, and probably never used this tool/feature. I found this video when looking for a plug-in to do exactly this. Very cool to find out, for once, that i don't need to shell out more money to do something. That's the amazing thing about Photoshop and Illustrator-you can use them for two decades, within your own little 'bubble' of needs, and then discover it has other capabilities and different ways of doing things. I went here looking for an explanation to convert my text to an object from the envelop warp/distort and not only was able to figure out how to do what I was wanting to do I leaned something about Illustrator I have never known about!
