Envelope Distort & Blend Filter Using Adobe Illustrator

This is a tutorial on how to create a 3D effect using Adobe Illustrator. I am teaching an Illustrator class and my students asked to learn how to do this. My Knife tool does not automatically cut with a clean curve and separate the different slices. Any advice on how to fix?

I’m not sure my guess is either you are using an older version of illustrator or you have a setting change. When I made this tutorial all my settings were at the default settings. Thanks for checking the video good luck.
