  • This alignment is key to avoid a snatching clutch as the bike starts to move off from rest.
    BMW's own packs suffer the same symptoms. Owners fitting after market clutch plates also have the same to contend with.
    One cause is that some have to part dismantle their aligned pack to allow their slightly larger diameter socket to be used.
    Hope all is clear in the video. Tried to capture all in one take but I do go on a bit so hope its worth your time to get an understanding.

    Very informative thank you, just picked up an 05 mint condition 28k and has this one and only problem, will whip of cover and attempt to centralise,

    Do you have a more precise way of centralising at all? don't want to go through the stripping down just to hit and hope it works,

    No doubt BMW has an alignment tool that costs little more than a new Kawasaki complete, but it seems to me that it should be easy to have one turned out of steel bar stock. If I am picturing the assembly properly, all you need is a certain length of bar turned to a slip fit diameter of the transmission shaft bore on one end and the inner race of the throw out bearing on the other. Both dimensions would be easy to measure upon disassembly.
