You're freakin amazing. I can't imagine a better example of what it looks like when an artist is doing their thing. You are sooo starkly opposite of country, but you can sing the heck out of it.😊 Thanks for showing us how to analyze a genre and use it.💕

Great! You could never really expect a professional southern raised country singer to do tutorials like this, because they do it naturally, & by listening to nothing but country music, so they wouldn't understand how to technically relay things to teach one how to sing the way they do. This said, thanks, really appreciate this video!
I've never had singing lessons. But I'm pretty excited to try and wrestle control over my singing voice and figure out what I can do. Thank you for putting a lot of work into this series, insta subbed! PS: hello everyone from Canada!
Dang it! I never would have known that your voice was between pop and rock. Your country replicated vocals are spot-on. I'm learning to sing with a country twang.
Haha yes! I grew up, listening to country music, so I enjoyed getting to sing it along with the other styles of music I listened to! Thanks so much for watching and hanging out with us for this video! 🙌
Hey, you totally can! Start with those fundamentals of pitch and rhythm, then build up your vocal strength with daily vocal exercises! Add a little country flare and you are good to go 💪
This messes with my head! A clean-cut nasal sounding white male suddenly has so much base and incredible warmth in his voice. Can't stop watching this! 😍. Really useful video too!
I've been using this technique for 3 years after coming across it. Life happens and I just got an offer to do some country vocals! As an expat American in Australia, they just love it!
Awesome! A lot of these tips aren’t necessarily groundbreaking or special, but if it allows singers to identify the great things they are already doing and replicate them for the future, then I am thrilled! Thanks for watching 🙌
Literally blew my mind. And I live in Texas and sing in a Texas Music (not to be confused with Nashville, lol) cover band. Never seen anything like what I just saw. You got more country in your voice than I have...and it sounds natural. Damn good job. Maybe I'll give ya'll a call :)
I play guitar and sing a little and I wanted sing country songs, so in order to get the country sound , I would go around druing the day taking and singing in an exaggerate southern drawl and then tweaked it and toned it back a little, kinda work for me
I was looking how to sing rock or pop. Iv played guitar and sung country music for as long as i can remember it still helped my accent is horrible from me being in the south lol
It's super possible to sing rock and pop authentically (even if you start out with a southern accent)! Focus on your foundation first in singing, then listen to several rock songs. Pick out some key characteristics that you hear, and try to imitate 1 at a time. Over time, they will become more natural and you will be able to incorporate them whenever you want!
Great tutorials! Thank you so darn much. My singing has vastly improved since I've found your page. I'm truly looking forward to working with you in the near future.
I skipped to the end but i plan on watching it all some time, but my initial thought is, (this sounds like a green day impression but I’m a lower pitch) lol and it sounds perfect for country
Love that! We will make a fresh one of these that has way less fluff (just straight to the tips; Zack cringes every time he sees this video because it takes too long to get to the tips) 😅
These are great tips. Do you have any exercises to help develop a country style voice? How do I make this muscle memory? I really have to think alot to achieve the sounds
Strengthen your vocal fry/voice buzz! Practice bringing your vocal fry into your speaking and singing voice to keep volume low and intensity high! (This will make your tone better and scoops cleaner!)
I was like “okay. Let’s see where this goes. I wanna learn how to sing song with playing music.” Mans fucking goes “TUXEDO WOMAN!!!” 😂😂😂 i fucking dead
Thank you so much! And the song is called, “What If”! Victoria, Zack’s wife, wrote it as a pop song, but they turned it into a country song just for this video (to avoid copyright)!
Thanks for watching! You don’t need as much of the “country scoop”, but speaking the lyrics, first, getting comfortable with your country pronunciation, then singing the notes with the same diction/inflection should get you close on the style! Also, make sure that your tone is clear and not breathy! (Voice buzz/vocal fry will work here very well) Also, just make sure that your pitch, intonation, and rhythm are locked in to your accompaniment (whether that be a live band, guitar, or a karaoke track), and you should be able to sing Heartache on the dance floor very well! 🙌
We’re finally getting close to being back to our TH-cam content! I’m currently working on a singing course, and once it’s ready, we can start posting regularly again. And here’s an exciting idea: we might even release a full version of the song ‘What If’ just on TH-cam for our followers!
The title of the song is “What if”! It was written by Victoria, Zack’s wife as a pop song, and we turned it country for the video to avoid copyright ha! And yes! Chris Young is such a great artist 👊
Love the video! You broke it down so well and in such a short time! Love the vibes on this channel. Hope the channel blows up:) These tips are very helpful for doing covers, but I'm writing an original song and I want it to be a country song( i'm not from the country side). How do I apply these techniques without sounding too pretentious? is it even okay for me to write a country-sounding song?
Absolutely! You can apply these tips, but still use your natural, speaking voice for the most part, and it will sound authentic! I absolutely think it’s more than OK for you to write a country song! Find the genre that works for you and work on making your own! You don’t have to be from a specific part of the southern US to love and make great country music 🙌 We actually have several country artists working over zoom lessons right now on both songwriting and vocals and they are improving on a weekly basis! 🙌

I need to be able to sing a country song in 2 weeks. I have training in opera and musical theater.

We are curious too! How did it go? 😱

An original song , really good . Radio friendly as well .
Good singing & great lesson! 1) move vowels further back in the mouth, 2) exaggerate "R's", 3) scoop the note at the beginning of a lyrical phrase.
