The square silicone ice cube trays at walmart for like $4 (and somilar everywhere else) are basically 1oz portion exactly. I would freeze everything in those and pop them out as needed to make food mixes or pop them out and store them in containers if i needed more trays. Easier to know what portions and how much baby is eating.

Really good video. Healthy and easy food. I used to do almost the same for my first daughter. She loves brocoli, rice and beans since 6 months now she is almost 3 years old and still love that. He’s still been drinking a lot of milk I want to get him to eat more real food though. So I’m buying all these ingredients tomorrow and making my baby all of these. This has been super helpful. My daughter is 8 months. And I feel like we're late to the baby led feeding game. But last week has been amazing. Im cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner for her. And she's feeding herself. She loves sweet potatoes, peas and my homemade apple sause
I have a 6 month old. We started solids last week. He really disliked oatmeal but so far loves sweet potato and bananas! I’ve been making everything myself too and just introducing one food at a time every few days. I found your channel during those middle of the night nursing sessions and I love your videos!! Definitely going to try out the applesauce!!
Just a heads up for you and anyone else who is going to use breast milk in baby food: breast milk should never be refrozen. For example using frozen breast milk for purées then freezing those purées is not safe. Instead you could thin the purées before you serve them or you can use formula or water instead of breast milk and then freeze it 🙂
I'm just happy someone said it because this is exactly my thoughts when this video started. It's so important to be careful with this and also the oatmeal could very well be done with boiled water and add the breast milk into the portion baby will be eating on that given day!
Thank you for this! We just started solids and since my husband and I eat a lot of spicy and salty food so it just makes more sense to meal prep baby food. This is so helpful.
This has come in handy going through what we’re going through now with all these baby food brands not being safe or healthy for our precious babies. Thank you! 💜

We really like your video :) . Our baby turned 8months old yesterday . She is eating a lot , and she likes it ! The only difference is that we buy our veggies and meat from local farmers , as we are really careful about what the food contains. For flavour I would say steam a little dried meat (airdried without salt or any additives from a farmer ) with your veggies , our little 1 loves meat flavours :)

Thank you for the meal prep guide! Very helpful, my daughter is 3 months atm, so will be starting all this soon. Appreciate all the effort you put into your content.
Thank you so much for this video. Preparing all these in a go saves so much time. My baby is 4 months and would be starting soon. But I have to ask, what kind of foods did you give for the very first time? Did you give single ingredients food? Did you wait for some days to introduce new ones? How will does it take to do combo foods?
My baby is currently 4 months and I am prepping myself for the months to come😅 plan to follow how you do things, I love the combo idea of incorporating baby lead weaning and purees and adding breastmilk! ❤
I like to use a triple steamer to cut down cooking time. I also use the hand blender she uses. Mine came with a chopper/grinder & that’s what I use for meats.
Thank you for the video! My sweet girl is 7 months old. She is having a slow start with solids. Any foods with sugar in them (sweet potato, sweet peas, etc.) give her diarrhea. :( she has an immature digestive system I guess. Since she has been eating vegetables with no sugar, she has decided she doesn’t want to eat much anymore. I’m looking forward to adding cinnamon to see if that helps her eat solids again!
Great and informative video! Thanks mama. I do have a few questions/comments. If you’re going to roast your sweet potatoes, why don’t you peel them cut them up into little cubes and then put them on the tray with a little bit of olive oil? It would be much easier to purée after they get out. I do this with squash too. Alternatively, You could steam them which is much faster. For the hard boiled egg, try cutting it in half and then the yolk will easily come out (:
Babies aren't supposed to have the extra oil and they shouldn't have any roasted blackened bits on the potato. Just needs to be straight sweet potato. The way she's doing it is ensuring its steamed inside the skin of the potato instead which makes it safe to eat (:
@@annazilar8932 olive oil is actually VERY good for babies :) it’s a great source of healthy fats and vitamin E which supports a healthy immune system. And there are no black bits when I do the sweet potato. It’s much easier than having to peel it afterward :)

@HealthNut Nutrition love watching your videos. I have a little girl, she's 6 months (+14 days) so still quite new to the weaning. (Started on the purée) She loves and can't get enough of sweet potato!. Haven't found anything that she doesn't like yet but tbh we have only tried a hand full of things. But, we have recently found out that she is allergic to cows milk 😟 You're doing a great job, Sage is so cute ❤️ with love, from the UK x
Just a heads up babies actually aren’t meant to have cows milk until they are at least a year old because their body can’t process it properly which might be why your daughter is showing symptoms of allergies (vomiting, fever, diarrhea, etc). So perhaps you should try again when she’s older (obviously talk to your pediatrician about it though!)
@@emmariddle955 thank you for the info. This was actually suggested to me, you can give her porridge oats and mix it with cows milk. Little did I know as I went with the professionals, I tried it, and there it was, she was allergic. I'm hoping she will grow out of it as she gets older, which is what the pediatrician reassured me with, thanks for the info 🙂

I’m on my 2nd baby after 5yrs with my first child I was recommended “Super Baby Foods” and I tried to follow it. I’m looking forward to trying some of these recipes out 😋☺️ especially the chicken!
Thank you for the video!! It’s super helpful! This may be a dumb question 🙋♀️ how do you warm up the frozen baby food for meal time every day? Thank you!
I use a small pot and add a little bit of water to it and add the frozen baby food to it. I wait for most of the water to evaporate but it would depend on the consistency you want I suppose. Then I usually pour the baby food in the bowl I'm feeding from and put it in the freezer to cool down while I prep my little one for meal time.
Just something I learned about apples/applesauce, more than half of the nutrients is in the peel as well as the core so as much of the whole apple as you feel comfortable feeding yourself or your little one the better! Like she said in the video the more nutrient rich the food the better.
I like to use a slow cooker. I'll add stew meat or chicken thighs with carrots, potatoes, green beans, etc and cook it all day then blend it up in the evening. Makes for soft tender meats and veggies and makes a nice dinner for them for a while.
My baby girl is 9 months😃love that video. She is into wild blueberries currently. We are pescatarians so we do not give her meat yet. Just eggs and fish😊☀️
I’m actually very entertained, compared to other videos on TH-cam. I love the way you talk and explain in details how and why things should be done 👍🔥🔥

Thank you for this! My baby is 9months and still can’t do thicker purées. He has a tough time with textures but he’ll get there! And hopefully soon he’ll move to table food!
this is really a helpful video for the beginner moms. What kind of bone broth did you use for the steamed chicken? pork? beef or chicken? im planning to make one at home. thanks.
my daughter is 6 months- almost 7 months and her favorite food so far is mangos and sweet potato! she really dislikes bananas itself so i’m trying to mix it in with other foods. i’m also just giving her purées for right now since we’re both comfortable with that :) thank you for all the tips! 🧡
This might be a dumb question but when your pulling the purées from the freezer what is the reheating process like? Or do you just thaw it out before giving to baby?
I enjoy your content so much!! My son is 7 months old and whenever he hears sage he laughs. When did you introduce chicken? I want to try it but I’m nervous. Thank you
I love this video! Gives me more motivation to keeping make my baby's food! Can you please post Sage's feeding schedule that includes nursing times? I am struggling with when and how much to give my 7 month old solids. Thanks!
@@veronika70638 Some people thrive on schedules. I was so frustrated when I asked these kinds of questions only to receive answers similar to yours when I was trying to figure out how to feed my baby. It doesn't just come naturally to everyone. ANYWAY what I did was feed my baby puree or some kind of baby lead weaning food about 30 minutes after I breastfed in the afternoon. I started with just one attempt at feeding solids when he was 6 months and he is now nine months and has three different servings of solids a day. Usually half a jar of puree at one sitting or something from whatever we are having for breakfast or dinner. He still drinks four 8 ounce bottles of formula per day in addition to the solids.:) You WILL find your own rhythm but I know it is so helpful sometimes to know exactly what someone else is doing as a guideline.:)

Thank you. This was a great video. I am so confused with purees and blw but this video really helps simplify things and gives my brain a break from overthinking if my 7 month old is getting the right nutrition. Definitely trying the chicken thigh idea! That sounds really yummy.
So nice, def gonna start making my own purées for snacks/meal time. I feel like it’s so much fun cooking for my baby and way more healthier than store bought.

Thank you so much for this video. It was so helpful as I usually struggle with what varieties of food I should be giving my 8 month, since most of the foods we eat are with lots of spices. Love it! 😍😍😍
For extra boost of iron add a couple spoonful's of separately cooked and pureed chicken livers to your prepared chicken baby food. Instead of the store bought baby rice cereal which contains arsenic and heavy metals. Also instead of covering your oven baked foods with aluminum use a Corningware Baking Dish with Glass Lid. to keep metals from leeching into the baby food.

Best video on baby food on TH-cam!!
I loved this meal prep idea ! Healthy, nutritious and easy recipes 👌🏻
I do have one question - For how many days can the food be safely stored in the fridge?
It’s all listed in the downloadable guide ☺️
@@HealthNutNutrition oh yes! That’s awesome. Thank you 😊
THANK U!!!!!❤❤❤ First time mom a 9 month old! I appreciate you!!! Made my life easier!!!
Thanks for sharing. From Mauritius watching your video . Great ideas. Gonna tried this for my soon to be 6 months old. Love the ideas. Sure we want more videos as the baby grows
This video was so helpful, I found a lot of great tips in order to prepare baby food for my 8 months old baby girl.
As Sage and Clara are the same age, I absolutely love your videos. So inspiring. 🤗
Thank you for this! My baby is 9months and still can’t do thicker purées. He has a tough time with textures but he’ll get there! And hopefully soon he’ll move to table food!
this is really a helpful video for the beginner moms. What kind of bone broth did you use for the steamed chicken? pork? beef or chicken? im planning to make one at home. thanks.
Thank You so much for helping us by sharing meal prep for babies. My little one is 7 month.
Thank you for sharing videos ❤now i try preparing food for my baby,my baby 6months old 😊😊
Thanks for the information! My baby is due in November and I’m just learning about feeding .
my daughter is 6 months- almost 7 months and her favorite food so far is mangos and sweet potato! she really dislikes bananas itself so i’m trying to mix it in with other foods. i’m also just giving her purées for right now since we’re both comfortable with that :) thank you for all the tips! 🧡
I love this Video I have four 2-10. And one on the way I’m definitely trying this for my last baby !❤
Awww congratulations to u both, love the name Oakley x Sage & Oakley ❤❤
Thankyou for sharing x love and hugs x
Great video! My little one just turned one. She loves diced tomatoes and has for about 6 weeks. She is not a fan of cooked carrots.
Thank you
What pots and cooking utensils do you use?
This has to be such a lucky baby! To have such a patience mama
Thank you for this videos. I'm adult looking for more puree food ideas this was very helpful to me
What kind of oats did you grind up? Is it like regular old fashioned oats? Also the barley flakes is from regular barley? Please help. Thank you!!!!!
Hi love the video. Our baby turning 8 months. We are wanting to know what type of textures and ideas for food for a 8 month old. We are ideally wanting to make them and freeze them in the ice cube blocks still. thank you z
Love this video! My 4.5 month old just had her first food yesterday- bananas and I can’t wait to give her more foods to try!
I'm definitely going to try to make the apple sauce for both my 4 month old n my 5 year old coz he loves apple sauce. I'm beyond excited 4 thus n had no idea what to do or how to start so thank u
How hot should you warm up baby purée before it’s safe feeding baby?and how long does purée last into the fridge/freezer? And also which oatmeal did you use?
Loved your 6 to 8 Baby Food Meal Prep video Nikole ❤❤❤❤❤
I love it... but, i will like to know for what months of baby is this kinda food? My is 6 months is my first baby and I'm learning:)
This helps a lot, my son just turned 5mnths old and baby food is expensive. I just started buying tools to make his food myself.
Thank you. This was a great video. I am so confused with purees and blw but this video really helps simplify things and gives my brain a break from overthinking if my 7 month old is getting the right nutrition. Definitely trying the chicken thigh idea! That sounds really yummy.
Love this! Working our way through the first foods! Our LO had sweet potato for the first time tonight and LOVED it!!! Loving your new cookbook 😊
So happy to hear and thank you!
So nice, def gonna start making my own purées for snacks/meal time. I feel like it’s so much fun cooking for my baby and way more healthier than store bought.
Baby is going to be 6 months soon and so nervous to start solids 🥺 watching your videos
Love the video! I’ve been making my littles ones food just by steaming then making it a purée. What should the oven temp be & for how long? Not sure if I missed you say that🤍
Great video!! I am a new mom and your videos help me a lot! You are my reference on TH-cam: fun, doable and healthy. Keep up the good work and thank you. !!❤️❤️
I really enjoyed this!! My baby is 7 months and has been doing purées from 6 months and is now just starting finger foods. Liked the idea of steam roasters the veg. Watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 by the way 🥰
After from freezer, what should be done? Heating frozen food by what...? Steaming? Or put it in the frying pan?
How do you reheat the ice cubes you prepped?
