    Learned to operate one in 2007 and drove it daily. Was thrown on one just recently after so many years (AUG 12, 2022 to be exact) and it came back to me quickly like riding a bike. One thing I do when reversing, I look back and honk the horn two times before proceeding/making sure no one or nothing is behind me.

      i just learned to drive one today in a warehouse. Only thing I need to do is learn how to go quicker, I know it comes with time, but hope I don't make the lines fall behind due to it

      @@infernomaster2702 Ah, I see what you’re saying. Remember, safety first…ALWAYS. You’ll be a pro in no time. What I would do if you can being in that situation, is practicing I say during when you got some free time? You’ll be fine. By the way, I just got recertified a month ago. Our instructor was surprised I knew to honk twice before going in reverse while other of my coworkers didn’t. 👷🏻‍♂️👍🏼

    Great video! Just a reminder for the viewer, make sure to tilt the forks back to a 90 degree angle to insure maximum safety when lifting/moving load 4:43

    • @ghettolove6764
      @ghettolove6764 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily what if the load needs to be leveled example would be a fish tank filled with water and not top can't really tilt that back gotta move it parallel to the floor

    • @King-2077
      @King-2077 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ghettolove6764 that’s incorrect, that’s considered safety problem at least to where zi worked at. I was in the military, and it is always necessary to tilt back loads so it doesn’t go forward and fall to the ground. I was certified to operate all sorts of firklift, from 4k up to 10k all terrain forklift, it was part of my job.

      Only tilt forks back once you have lowered the load and are about to travel. If you are in racking and you tilt the load back, it’s going to catch the bay above when you’re withdrawing.

  • @Statimtek

    What you missed that is most important.Check behind you before you reverse. Hitting an object is one thing. Hitting a pedestrian is something completely different . If you don't check behind BEFORE you reverse you will never know who or what is behind you.

      @thomasedition4024 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s just a gas and 2 brake Peddles it isn’t like your car where your right foot does everything no your left should always hover over your brake most of the time on propane to move like inches forward you need to have your left on the brake little gas and slowly let off the brake to move forward you don’t just use your right foot

    • @thomasedition4024

      How'd it go? I got the job today and Monday is orientation. So I'm stressing big time...
      I have no experience whatsoever. I was my mother's caregiver for 22 years. Sadly she passed away on Valentine's Day last month. So as of the 7th of Feb I was jobless. Because she went to the hospital on the 7th and passed away 7 Days later. And I'm still living in her house without her and I don't want to lose her house so I have to get a job this was the only job available I'm sure notice. Do you have any advice on how to use forklift?
      Was it hard to work it?
      Ughhh my nerves are driving me nuts.

    *** Please answer !! ***
    How do I get certified ?
    I'm in NJ.
    Are the forks adjustable or are they preset to all pallets ?

    • @procrastinator6902
      @procrastinator6902 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're adjustable. They have pins on top of them that you pull up on and it allows you to move the forks closer together or further apart. Of course you have to be off the lift to do these and need the forks a few feet in the air.
