Great video Ryan. Love your Channel & those 1959s. It brings back unforgettable memories of our ‘59 Biscayne 4 drs Sedan we had in Cuba in the 1960s. Cheers from Florida.
It would cost more to restore it than its worth, but it will make a great donor for your convertible. I like the green too.... my dads 59 Parkwood was that green and white. It looks like it would have been a 348 car, due to the sway control, unless someone ordered it on a 283 or 235 car. Sway control was standard on 348 cars in 59. I also see it has power steering. Power steering cars had a different steering gear ratio, so don't let that steering gear go to scrap. Looks like a padded dash too. I couldn't tell, but does it have EZI glass?
This seems to me to be the best way forward. I can't believe people in the comments are freaking out about cutting this car up to save a convertible. Sacrifices must be made. Crew cabs are expendable.
Hey Ryan another good find. Highland Green (RPO 905) is the correct color name. (I have a dealer book for the '59 Chevrolet.) You are certainly working your way to your '59 convertible. How much of the 4 door can you use for it? I know the trunk lid is the right size for it.
Another great 59 find Ryan, I like that green color too 👍 excellent video, always great that you take us along for the ride! Best to you man (Mortske loves giving you some grief, doesn't he?)
nah not really, i never started the channel to be a builder or a tv show style, i just document my finds and like showing the world what is still out there to be found
Parts! Vert is better than a more door! If it was super complete with all the drivetrain in restorable shape, that would be different. Looks like it needs a donor it’s self!😁
Your convertible is leaps and bounds ahead of this car as far as rarity goes. So I would be doing the same thing. It is a great colour. I sure enjoy your content keep up the good work.
Great video! Do you have a website where you sell parts? I have a 60 Biscayne 4door ( yea I know....) I bought from Texas. Got a lot of questions about engine swaps etc. Cheers!
Hey buddy I wish they would get back to you on the 59 Chevrolet that is pushed backwards in the gulley here I was telling you about...I wish I could get a picture of it for you
I promise I won’t, I’m from eastern Iowa and I see a lot of your finds are in the Dakotas? I was more curious how you find them and the travel time to go get these gems. I’m a big fan of the 61 & 62 convertibles
Ryan 1, Mortske 0! 😂😂 GREAT find!!! If I had that baby, I'd take as long as it takes to get her back on the road where she belongs! One of the sweet, rare rides that also looks great as a four-door!!!
Hey Ryan, thats a nice 4 door, a little too good just for parts but at least it's not going to -Sweden- Thailand!! (only joking, I don't care where you sell to). I bet that truck Mortske was hauling will pay for his gas and maybe a pair of Khaki pants!
I have to wonder if the ‘59 Impala parts car had its Taillights replaced with ones from a Belair; I didn’t see the Chrome trim around them that Impalas of that year would have had.
It reminds me of those primary school math problems "if you have 8 apples and cut them in quartes, then throw half of them away, how many of those will grow into apple treees " :D How to make a complete Impala out of 3 frontclips and 1 body with rear :D
Hmmmmm....... Hard call, Ryan. That green beast looks pretty good , but we haven't seen right through it yet - looking at the floors, pillars, rocker panels, trunk floor, frame, door frames / bottoms....all the places we know they like to rot away. If she's pretty solid everywhere, I would feel guilty as all heck if I chopped her up. However, how many convertibles are there out there? Certainly not as many as sedans.....and this one was just sitting there waiting for someone to use it for something, so she would live on and save a whole lot of hassle, time and expense in fabricating the panels needed to bring the convertible back. As long as the panels are the same (or can be easily adapted as such), then I could talk myself around to believing that what I am doing is the right thing - cutting into what is a pretty good looking and (from what we've seen) solid and straight forward restoration in its own right. Don't lose sight of the goal, mate. That convertible is rarer than rocking-horse lumps and if it isn't this car, then it will be some other '59 and you may not find another one that is so complete and has such excellent body panels, lying around in the long grass of someone's back yard, waiting to be a part of a running and driving machine again. Save the convertible. You found the donor - not anyone who's watching your channel. It's yours and was bought for a great purpose. As long as them panels fit the convertible as they should, then go for it.
You know.what I would do. And I'm probably the only one who would do this , but I'd put on a front end on it and a drivetrains in it also an interior and enjoy the 4 DOOR. That's right I'd save the 4 door. Even Convertibles are worth more, there are probably LESS 4 doors than convertibles out there. Regardless of what body style they are, the 59 Chevies are cool. Thanks for saving it.
Hmmm ...idk, 4 doors were bread n butter cars I'd think. Quick numbers check says 70k convertibles vs 707k 4 doors not counting station wagons. Surprisingly tho, 2 door station wagons was 20k!! Who knew -besides Ryan?
How much do you want for some of those power steering parts, if you won't be needing them? I need a PS pump and the triangular-shaped piston ram bracket. Oh, and I'd restore the car.
If you could state once in a while what things are going for so we know what to pay when we find stuff that would make it more interesting to me. It would be helpful to the public that watches your channel also.
If i did that then id be shooting myself in the foot. Id be charged a premium for stuff , it happens all the time, so i quit giving out prices. Everyone has to do their own research
Thailand is home to a lot of westeners who can afford to live like kings because of the economy so it comes as no surprise to me that Chev enthusiasts will be living there. Plus low labour costs mean some really nice work can be achieved on car restos. PS you dont have a YT channel until you use a claw hammer to do a ball peen hammers job.😁😁
I bought a 56 car to restore, importing it to UK. The body came off the chassis and it took 5.5 years to complete the car. All I can say is thank goodness there were folk who were prepared to help me with my various wants and needs, with some shipping the parts to me on strength of my reputation; oh yeah, the car won an award at a national event and got featured in a number of magazines 😎 BTW, saw a dark blue Biscayne in Ukraine 🇺🇦 about 7 years ago, in good shape parked up

The car seems restorable. It will be a beautiful green gem.
Agreed but its needed for a bigger project

It's good to see some else who loves these cars as much as I do 👍
Absolutely
Looking forward to see more of the other car.
i hope this spring!
You are the go to dude for Impala parts World Wide now, excellent. 😎👍🇨🇦
Thanks 👍
Thank goodness they aren't being crushed! Your donor is exactly what my next restoration hopefully will be, same color also.
Nice! Ill sell any parts i cant use off this one
Those 59's have such a cool style.
right on
Good ole Mortske.
duff was MIA this time lol
Great video Ryan. Have a pleasant day.
Thanks, you too!
Those '59s are outrageous! A friend of the family had one back in the day. Made our Fords look kinda dull.
Awesomeness!!!
Thanks guys
This seems to me to be the best way forward.

all the floor, rocker, lower cowl, trunk floor & lid, etc
From what I saw, body looked nearly rust free. Wonder how floor & trunk pans were
they both need a little patching, but are way nicer than what i have lol
Another great video Ryan, thank you for posting 👍🏻
thanks man!
Love the fins or the brows and the elongated lights, classic setting it apart from any other. Amazon car hop trays.
Cant beat the big fins

I might need one of those front clips in the USA
You're missing a can of PB'Laster spray for those nuts and bolts! Ya gotta have some in the shop!

One day I’ll get a 59 impala. Such a cool car.
you got good taste!
The body is in decent shape from what I see. I would restore the car back to stock. These 59's are getting harder to find.
you are right, but i also need a lot of parts from this one
He Ryan thanks for another great video.
thanks Dave!

I noticed on the front clips that the hoods were like cut out. Didn't they need the hoods ? Thailand, not the place you'd expect.
they can fix that, thos guys are excellent craftsmen
A great parts car. Not many will be around in 20 years
you got that right
Gotta love Mortske. He gets around. He was just in Puddins video when they went to a swap meet in the Yee Haul Ford Courier.
yup hes a traveler
I don't burn near the amount of fuel Ryan does!
Surprisingly you sure do find a lot of these Impalas.
lots of looking!
So cool, I just saw Puddin's Fab Shop video with Mortske buying those parts in the bed. 👍
So cool!
Thank you Ryan
thanks Dan!

about 500 each way
