My exact thought - I live in NJ, too. I’ve only met one other State Trooper (in an on-duty Trooper-citizen type interaction) that was extremely kind and chill. He pulled me over on 295 because my license was apparently suspended and I honestly didn’t know. I started bawling my eyes out and told the Trooper the truth, which was that I JUST had gotten clean from H a week prior and that my life was just in complete shambles. Dude told me to wait until he drove away then I could leave, and to head straight home. I still have his name in my phone. He truly gave a shit and could tell I honestly had no clue my license was suspended. I do construction tho and worked in a Trooper’s house. He was cool as fuck lol. I'm an attorney. This trooper showed exemplary restraint. Once the man started getting worked up and in the officers face, he could have put him in cuffs for assault on a LEO.
