Thank You SOOOOOO much!!! Have been looking for a proper guide on how to properly overclock my i7 920 on my MSI X58 Pro-E Mainboard. Your a life saver.
I know this is old vid but, you probably already know that when you have ram that is spec to run 2000mhz , and you over clock a cpu and get a lower ram target speed, then you need to lower your ram voltage a little and you should have stable at 3.6 , if not then lower ram voltage and increase some of the ram timings ,, just the first 4 like from 9-9-9-24 , to something like 10-9-10-22 . There is a tutorial on it at toms hardware . . This vid helped me out , did not know I could go higher from 3.33 to 3.5 on 1333 mhz ram. I forgot turbo boost gave you that extra multiplier with out increasing the ram speed. Anyhow its worth it to go with 1600 sticks cause you can get about 4ghz outa a i7920 on that. Im rocking BF1 with a GTX 770 on overclocked 920 to 3.49 . no bottle neck at that speed. Average 100 fps on most maps . liquid cooling keeps me at about 40 c full load
Wapn thanks for the video. OC'd last night to 3.2 and it ran great. I did get the CPU temp up to 84C at one point... while playing PUBG. Im going to lower the voltage a little tonight and see if that helps. Also running a stock cooler, so im sure thats part of it also.
Я из России ничего не понимаю что ты говоришь )) выставил в bios настройки как у тебя, все работает отлично у меня i7 950 и gtx 1660 super 6gb. ставлю лайк подписка 👍🏻
Hello great tutorial thank very much.I have a question please .You know if is there a way to put my ram (Corsair ddr3 ) up to 1600mhz? My x58 MSI motherboard support only until to 1600.is there a way to put more MHz ???please make a video because you say it with a way very very understandable.have a nice day
amazing tutorial, thanks! Seems I have MB as yours - Msi x58 pro-e. I set all settings as in this video, except CPU voltage (it stays auto) and Aida64 shows me 1.4 V. Is this voltage safe or i must put it +0.110 in bios as you show on 11:40? The second question: i have ddr3 1333 Mhz, 1.65 v, it will be safe memory ratio = 4 with adjusted dram frequency 1440 MHz ? Because on Auto Memory Ratio my computer even doesn't starts on 3.6 Ghz cpu (only until 3.1 Ghz)
I should have mentioned that there are some CPU speeds that are no no's because the CPU doesn't like the bus frequency. I would try 3.2gHz... 160mHz... usually the i7 is 100% happy there. Hope you get it.
Still thankfully for you video upto now.

Works like a charm! Temps 45C at idle.
Thank you for the tutorial, it was a big help in overclocking my cpu!

I can't change my CPU voltage or something like that. Its on Auto
Use +/-
@@680pxl That shit never help. It is lock and greyed out.

My ioh temps are at 91celsius or 195f and I touched nothing yet. Why so?
He has options that i dont have
Done on an msi x58 pro-e motherboard
when i am trying to overclock over 3 ghz equal to 150 bclk it wont work. PC wont boot any idea how to fix?

Dang when I overclocked it it said it had failed and my pc was beeping really loud
