    I bought a 100k miles S2000 that was meant to be a showcar, but has widebody (9.5 in front 11 in back), supercharged engine, pretty much the works. I ran the numbers and just the parts are 35k alone.
    Was such a gamble as I never even saw the car in person and I was extremely hesitant to buy someone else's project.
    I'm happy to report that I'm blessed af and have had no issues and every person that's seen the car was like "the previous owner really knew what they were doing".
    I've added additional mods and removed some per my liking, but damn what a vehicle.
    The S2k is so easy to work on too because the engine space is ridiculous. Yes, everything has a torque spec, but the information is widely available.
    All-in-all. I love my S2k and the S2k community. If anyone can afford one, I highly suggest your drive one and consider buying it.
    And finally, I will say that nowadays, this absolutely is a tuner car and a good one at that. Throw whatever the fuck you want on it and do your research. These cars are tanks and can handle a lot.

    I’d highly highly recommend that if you are going to track the car start with cooling upgrade along with brakes and tires even though the factory stuff is really good. Then use your money for track days. A full adjustable suspension and lighter wheels would be my next step along with making the car lighter. You really don’t need to add power until you’ve gotten to the point where you’ve been able to push the car to level 10 consistently on the track.

      S2k is not out of reach....yet. you can still find decent ones in the low 20s, rough ones for less. The really nice ones are the ones pushing 30k+. They will be too expensive soon enough tho.

      @S2KEVIN decent examples were never 10k cars and never will be. I bought mine at the bottom of the market years ago and got an awesome deal at 11k, which was pretty much dealership trade in value at the time. If you want an absolute junker, I'm sure you can still find one in that price range.

    The front camber part was confusing. There are no camber plates available, because it's a double wishbone suspension. Adjustable upper control arms are available for camber adjustment.

      Wrong. Factory intake is the best until you get to $2k fancy custom intakes. ITBs are just for sound, not for performance. Big cams aren't really worth the price for the power the give. You're better off just tuning the stock engine and adjusting VTEC

    I need a winter daily… I can’t get behind Subaru, and BMW scare me because that’s what I currently have. I need some good options for winter, but also had a bit of fun/sport behind them. Only things I can find are an Infinity Red Sport, a BMW 340xi, and an Evo X. All are terrible decisions; but I can’t really find anything else…

    17x9 +45 will not fit in an s2 with a wide tire that's driven hard. Mine would rub up front with a +60 with the fender tabs bent only running a 225 up front, there is more space in the rear. Also camber plates aren't needed for dual a-arm cars. They actually do nothing. This advice is questionable as someone who has tracked an s2 quite a lot.

      Lmao. A wing that big is necessary if you track the car. It shaves off 1-2 seconds on the track.

      @@GrungeGarageN for a sub 200-300 hp car? let’s not forget the wing adds weight too

    • @GrungeGarageN
      @GrungeGarageN 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lronSausage I would do some research or get some track time yourself before throwing around bold misinformation over things you know nothing about.
      You can have 150hp or 900hp, either way a large wing helps for track performance. It increases useable grip via downforce on the rear. There's a reason why in racing comp grouping they split up cars who don't have aero from those who do-- Aero makes a huge difference.
      Added weight isn't enough to matter. A wing can add 15-35lb. Not enough for a noticeable difference.
      Wings-- although creating downforce for more grip-- also create drag. Drag is bad. But again, the positives heavily outweigh the negatives.
      Newer cars have "active-aero". These are wings which have an actuated flap to increase downforce when needed in the corners, and go back to being flat on straights to reduce drag, and reduce downforce.

    • @lronSausage
      @lronSausage 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GrungeGarageNmight as well make it the size of a dinner table then, the positives heavily outweigh the negatives. Buddy, that wing is literally bigger than a GT3 RS. I guess the engineers designing it should have consulted you first and get some track time so they can understand it needed to be bigger for more downforce.
