I have an AP2 but an ND2 Miata is great too. I got behind one on a twisty mountain pass and we booked it for several miles. I was impressed. The Miata was very hard for me to hang onto.
That blue is my absolute favorite color for a car. I also purchased a GR86 in the same blue as well! Never had a honda before, but it seems to be a pretty great car.
I am watching from Malaysia. Recently I went to the Tokyo Auto Salon show here with a Hong Kong friend. He suggested I get an S2000 and here I am researching for it.
Def need a bucket seat for taller drivers but cant be too wide or itll prevent you from opening the center console. Thats all i needed at 6'4" however an aftermarket steering wheel with longer hub wouldve helped.
Funny enough, I bought an EM1 a year ago and I get a video recommendation from your channel. Fast forward to now, I just bought an AP2 S2000 and here you are reviewing it haha what car we getting next?
not sure if you mentioned in the video but how tall are you?, I have been thiniking of maybe selling my brz to get one these however im 6ft6 so not really sure if id fit in one (id get lower seats & rails if necessary and a spacer for the if I had to)
I’ve owned 10 s2k’s. Currently still owning two. I’m a veteran. The best drivers car on the planet. If you want it faster just add boast, and you won’t regret it. Even stock they are still amazing.
Admittedly AP1 owner here so potential bias, but I've test driven 2 stock AP2s and they really don't feel much different in street commute driving. The 10 more lbs/ft of torque combined with different gearing makes a difference on paper but in practice doesn't end up perceptively different. Losing 1000 rpm on the top end is unfortunately noticeable - feels like a standard Civic/Integra running out of breath at 8k.
@@PS3rulls well came to a realization that it was not the car that makes it awkward for me, but in fact it’s myself sprained my ankle a month after I had just bought my s2k. I’m able to heel and toe now just needed that to heal to get that motion back lol
The 1st gen shift knob is the best: titanium, better ergonomic than the ball knob on the CR, and don't have to deal with fading leather like on the ap2.
@@z32luvr They lack the toe change issues, reminiscent of FC RX-7s that the AP1 had, but they still universally without intentional modifications run a aggressive high rear roll center, which at its extreme end (its like half this in AP2s, not insane) is essentially like making your IRS car as if it had a swing axle in regards to lack of stability. I can even tell you why they set it up like this for stock form, during about 1985-2005 (hugely falling off in 00s but many still using it, like our dear AP1 and 2) when new tech made calculating for mix of cornering potential vs ride quality came into play it was noticed, and it is true that setting up a car like this, similar to the C4 Corvette, similar to most MR2s, similar to a lot of leary cars that if you run low springs in front, high in rear, and rely on jacking forces of high rear roll center (but diminished mechanical grip, our issue here) you can theoretically have the most compliant ride while also achieving extremely good static cornering numbers. Problem is static isn't how any car corners, and this setup is EXTREMELY unstable. Which is why you usually see a lower rear roll center comparative to front in most if not all race cars, and similarly see stiffer front springs even when weight bais is slightly towards the rear, but the roll center part is honestly more the concern. Its more where the snapping comes from as the camber changes and high jacking forces make it far easier for the ONE PART of the tire (rather then the whole of it) to let go on say corner entry, with a bit of trail braking or lift-off that is usually beneficial to the process. In this regard S2000s were setup as fantastic Grand Touring style cars, driven to 80% or so, but with stock geometry, not always ideal for racing as in that case you aren't trying to use jacking forces from geometry of suspension which compromise mechanical grip, but instead just run higher spring rates which require you from ever needing to, although obviously at a huge cost to ride quality, which isn't relevant there.
This will forever be one of the best vehicles ever made
The only car I owned that I regret selling.
Same.
My uncle owned an AP2 from 07-11, and he reminds me often that he regrets selling it.
I regret selling my 1992 prelude si
Same here. So what i did was buy the same car back from the guy i had sold it to!!
same

IMHO the ND and S2000 drive like cousins.
Great cars, bought numerous dailies alongside the s2000. 10/10 would still daily the s2000.
Good feedback as an owner!
Drove an 06 silverstone metallic for 7 years. Terrific car.
There's an aftermarket seat rail that will drop the stock seat by 20mm, Definitely a must for taller drivers.
Thanks man, I've always had a liken to this car growing up, I was born 2002. It had always fascinated me throughout my childhood
Double thumbs up! Kinda sad that Honda don't make a newer model of this.
They’re coming back with the prelude at least so we’re gonna get some 2 door fun soon
I'd LOVE a new S2000
If they did, I guarantee that we’d all be bitching about direct injection, turbo, 7000 rpm redline, too heavy, etc

Bring more day in the life with older vehicles pls.
I daily mine when it works. Fun car for sure!
One of my favorite sports cars if I can fit
an s2k can be a family vehicle lol bring your kid top down. iit would be a long living memory in your kids
If you are 6 0’+ there’s a bracket you can purchase which safely lowers the OEM seat. LHT performance made a fire video on it
Backyard Special 🤘🏻

Now that you mentioned the secret storage compartment it isn’t a secret anymore
ARGH
There is nothing like a S2000.
I’d still take an nd3 for daily. This would be the track toy
Yo man, been watching for a while and I was just curious, how did u get into this / start out?
Thanks for following! I made a video a couple years back about how I got into this: th-cam.com/video/u2gako41O9I/w-d-xo.html

I do! Waiting for it to be available in the LA Media Fleet
@@MilesPerHr I always thanks to you😆👍
Im in the position where I either want to sell my s2k for a porsche 997 or a90 supra or even f80 m3 or if i should keep it..
Keep s2K AND buy new one
The fact that it’s drive by wire as opposed to cable connected for 2005 and earlier is there any delay in hitting to gas to the throttle reaction?
No delay, but adding an intake system will cause some rev hang without tuning.
I found it to be immediate.

Nice s2000, could you drive the new AMG gt or the revuelto soon?
Working on both!
if you are from the Fast and Furious 1 Era, illegal racing then you'll appreciate this car.
I prefer the AP1 u can’t beat that 9,000 rpm redline 😊 reving all the way to the moon 🚀🌖

Too small for me but a very unique car nonetheless.
Please make a video on MK4 Supra.
That would be a dream! Need to find one
Bro what is your exact height ? Asking this because I too am a taller person
I would perfer the older S2000 but still a great car
Can you do next a 2024 Honda ridgeline AWD Sport?
