I moved here to Kingman, AZ in 2009 from CA, back then the closest Harbor Freight to me was 100 miles away in Henderson, NV. Sometime between then and now a Harbor Freight opened in Lake Havasu City, AZ which is 65 miles away from me, then one opened in Bullhead City, AZ which is 50 miles away. Recently the word got out that Harbor Freight is going to open a store here in Kingman this summer, they have already put the sign up and I can see it from my garage, I'm not crying, I've just got something in my eye. ;-)
I picked up the version without the compressor last week using the no exclusions coupon for $127 before taxes, it's used in a professional setting at the dealer I'm a tech at. it's performed flawlessly so far, even jump started and completely power a full size range rover with a dead alternator and battery allowing me to drive it into the shop
My wife and I planned a 2 month trip across country with our fifth wheel. Planned ahead so everything would go good. 2 months before I went and purchased a Viking 1700 starter air compressor. Left on our road trip and got 1700 miles and needed air in a couple of tires. No problem I'm prepared! Guess what? It doesn't work! Get home and take it back to Harbor Freight. I'm S.O.L. my 90 days are up! Maybe just got a lemon, it happens. A word of advise. If you buy one make sure it works before your 90 days are up or your out $179.00.

I have had this same unit for almost 2 years, it rides in the front compartment of my center console saltwater boat, getting slammed around going over waves all the time. I have had 0 issues and it works flawlessly, every time.

I just bought one for $180 with tax $205 no coupons yet also haven't tried it but lots of good reviews better than the popular Noco that's highly rated, this one just has less almost no negative reviews and they say it's more durable than others. After ankle fracture wearing a boot Cass it's a hassle burden asking for help so I had to buy this and don't regret it actually it's about time because my riding mower constantly needs air and jump start and my brother and neighbors too so now I can have an easier solution with this. GREAT TECHNOLOGY.
A great idea including the air compressor. Great tool to keep in the vehicle next to a tire repair kit for when you're stranded away from home. At home I use a pancake compressor (from my nail gun kit). And super amperage for dead or cold weather starts.
I work on my car and I work at hft. I do logistics. This jump box , zurich 15 scan tool , and the icon 12-250 digital torque wrench. Are my favorite products for a me as a home mechanic.
Sir I must confess I know this has nothing to do with the video but I have to say I have never been one to clean my tools but the other day I got to think I spent a lot of money on them so I decided to clean them and i used tub o towels and I must say they got them so clean they almost look new and I can see the snap on logo again
I have the Dewalt Pancake air compressor for air tools and the 25 gallon belt driven 25 gallon air compressor in my garage for air tools and airing up vehicle tires. Now, these portable air compressors is what I am not well-educated on. Given the time to maybe jack up the vehicle just enough to relieve some weight off the tire while the portable air compressor is airing up...will it air up faster as well as not work the compressor any harder than needs to be? I am just wondering. Thank you for this video.
I have no idea these are just good for in a pinch situations like if you go to store and come out and notice a nail has punctured your tire and you need to air it up to get it fixed. They are by no means meant to replace an air compressor
I used to buy one use items at hft. Now they have options of quality also. Always use a coupon and I can save myself hours of price shopping all stores. I can just go in and take coupon for their most expensive brand, has amazing warranty, and I’m done with really good product for homeowner weekend warrior. But yes, I still love my consumer brands, none of which are at hft. I will say there are a few brands like icon though, or Daytona, that all my buddies will be like oh wow, can I try
I use mine often and it has held up good. I use the compressor more than anything as my mower has a small leak in one tire. I've used the jumper on everything from a mower, cars and my F350 6.0 diesel. No issues. I wish they made it with a compartment to hold the charging cord like they do with the air hose. That is my only complaint and it has nothing to do with function.
Looks like project farm has a new jump box to test and see if its any good. The last model was junk so hopefully for everyone buying this it's actually putting out what it claims.
I don’t know what it puts out but it claims to jump a gas V8 and I found the biggest baddest one I know (Old school 454 Big Block) and it did it no sweat (actually twice if you watched the video) and still maintained 100% charge after running the compressor for 6 mins airing that tire up. Good enough for me. It did what they claimed.

But something working great out the box verses when you need it most when its cold dark and raining out, the most likely time a tool like this is needed is a different story. I didn't say its not good, just that harbor frieght has the rep of selling junk a TIME OR TWO. I hope it's good for the sake of all the hard working people that buy this and depend on it. I hope project farm test it because facts mean more than a quik test and promises on a box.
Why dose the fan never shut off ? I keep it plugged in but going on vacation I like to unplug stuff ... fan never stopps? Why , or how to shut it down ?
I have used the air compressor but not the jumper yet. The manual says in order to avoid serious injury, do not put the negative cable of the jumper on the negative cable of the vehicle; but attach it on a non-movable metallic part on the vehicle. The manual also says to turn on the switch after connecting the cables and if the vehicle does not start after 5 seconds; turn the switch off for 3 minutes before attempting to jump the vehicle again. Of course you did none of that and it started right up. Can you please comment on what the manual is saying? Thank you..
If it will jump off that big hot rod motor I guess my riding mower 22hp v twin Briggs & Stratton shouldn’t be a problem 😀 should be able to jump it several times without a recharge on the jumper box I think my alternator is bad but they are a pain in the butt to replace on a mower
I also got this viking with tax $205 but because it has alot of good reviews hardly any negative reviews, even for durability even better than the overrated Noco brand. It's too heavy though but who cares as long as you have assurance knowing it'll work for most vehicles because it's larger wattage and psi.

Mine first one when I got it home compressor didn't work at all my 2nd one compressor worked for about a year my third one it worked for 5 tires then I went to top off grandsons basketball and it wouldn't even fill it

I watched the film Justin Dow did of his review of this jump pack and he was quick to point out in the early part of the stipulations that need to be followed or the warranty is voided.
I wanted to know. Can you use the air compressor feature To make a makeshift air blower? (Example; i just want to blow some dust/debris from the engine bay before i remove the spark plugs. Can this compressor do that?)

HF must be sending these to every tool TH-camr. Seeing a lot of my go-to guys on here showing off this jump pack. Seems pretty good quality. How would you compare to the Centech they have?
What's the cost I got a Jnc 770 for a better price but thanks for showing it ever one should have a jump pack most people in this day and age won't give you. Jump start

Mine worked great, now when I use the tire inflator it runs for 3 seconds then beeps and shuts off. Tire pressure displayed, I set it to what I want, start it, runs for 3 sec and shuts off. I've used it before and worked great. Any ideas before I smash it.
When u hooked the box up the voltage shown, wouldn't that be the box voltage drawn down by the truck? I know my jump boxes have to be off to see the car voltage.

This uses a lead-acid battery, that's why it's so heavy. A lead-acid battery for this use will generally last two to three years. A lithium Ion battery will generally last twice as long or more.
I had a cracked rim with a slow leak got one of these to put enough air in until i could afford new rims.used it once,inflated tire to 28 psi then stopped working..trash.
I used it twice for my hummer at 27degrees when battery was dead and the jump box was AWESOME!
They are well worth the money !

I agree that cord needs a permanent place on the jump box.

if the battery was at 12.5v why did you jump start it? Also, how easy is it to chage the battery?

I don't know Clay, I run a tow truck don't see myself putting this on the truck. To me harbor freight doesn't make professional tools.

its still going but I charge it after use and leave it plugged up? so can't say how long it will take to charge after it is fully dead

No it doesn’t have a tank so it works off little short puffs to fill the tire not like a stream from a shop compressor
You could air up a small tank to keep with you for that, and top it off using this thing. There's an idea

Had mine a year now ,when I plug it in to charge it will be at 80% then gets lower. How do I fix this says charging but it's getting lower.

Yes you are correct. I meant to say that was what the battery was being pulled down to from it being connected

They don’t “charge” a battery it’s just a jump box to start your car when the battery on the car is dead
