OOOOMMMMGGGG!!!! Those antiques! I am dying! I am a miniaturist and your video has lots and lots of inspiration for me. Thanks! I will be in the studio ALL DAY! Beautiful!
Yes please! Share how you are learning Italian, with those lessons. You are speaking so well! I LOVE all that you share in Italy. That is where my four grandparents originated from in Abruzzo, Italy. Share everything, please!
I wish the bathtub outside could become as beautiful as the newly refurbished inside. Suggestion: get rid of the rusty bathtub under bottom, by using « Rustoleum » spray paint color which is a shade lighter than lower side of bathroom wall color. Thank you Julie for sharing a tidy bit of your life with us, the curious international audience.
Great video, that flea market was huge! Love all your choices for your home. That was so kind of that person to give that memorabilia back to your family. Blessings to them.
You can just tell that your Little Italian House is where you have your 'you time', It looks so lovely even now, let alone what it will look like when it is finished. The person who left you a gift at the store was so very thoughtful to do that. You must treat her to an Aperol Spritz on your terrace! naturally in a vintage Italian glass :)
I loved seeing everything!! It just shows how our American concept of vintage and antique is totally different from European. I think it's funny that we think 100 years is old but it's not! Loved all the detail and craftsmanship. ❤️❤️
100 years old means that we’re talking about 1922. i’m not old enough to remember that but my mind says vintage not antique. It was just yesterday. Certainly just yesterday when it comes to life in Europe.
Julie just a fabulous day you had shopping. Thank you so much for sharing everything with us. Your home in Italy is so gorgeous already and will be the home of your dreams I am sure. Many blessings to you and your team. Thanks Julie.♥️🇺🇸
OMG I had heart palpitations going through that antique fair with you.So many beautiful things, especially love doors, frames, armoires ....so many choices- overwhelming, though.I would not have lasted all day! Barrelle much more curated. What a wonderful surprise gift waiting for you there.
I’m not the biggest lover of antique shopping but I could happily get lost in that place! So many beautiful things! Those chandeliers! Thank you for sharing with us!
So many gorgeous things, it would get tiring. I'd be keen to pick up an antique rug. I loved that 'herb' storage cabinet with all the writing on it too!
Just found you here! I’m a fan from television so now I’ve got some TH-cam videos to catch up on and follow your adventures. I think you are referring to what, in Canada, have always been called café curtains. I’ve made a few in my past, and have been collecting vintage linens for a kitchen window redo for café curtains and a valance. From googly info, “Dating back to 19th century Vienna, Austria, cafe curtains were used in many cafes and coffee shops. Cafe curtains are cloth window coverings that have the distinction of being hung on a rod across the middle of the glass rather than at the top. Some cafe curtain types also have a top header section, or valance. Mar 12, 2022”
They're called café curtains here in the UK too Dawn, and I have them in my bay window at the front of my 1860s house. I'd love to be able to say that I made them myself, but I'm not that talented. Luckily my sister is. 🙂
@@monicawarner4091, we also call them cafés, here in the States. They are super easy to make and Julie could use those gorgeous vintage sheets to make both the valances and cafés.
Julie we live over the hill from you in the mountains at San Giovanni dei querciola RE . We know your little town and always buy the local rustico pane from your local baker. We have worked and lived here for the last 8 years and have had a wonderful time. ( we were in Parma today!) . Enjoy your restoration. Xx
Really love your channel and following along on your journey. That was just such a sweet and emotional way to button up your video regarding the sketch book. There really is a lot of good out there ❤️ a lovely and thoughtful sentiment.
Wow! We absolutely thank you for letting us know about the antique supercenter. What a great place, that we look forward to going to. We enjoy watching you, and your renovations. And, being that we are renovating our own villa in Calabria, we know all about the process of making a place truly yours. We look forward to more fun episodes. Ciao.
I couldn't cope not without a glass or three of prosecco! Needing to lay down now - will stick to Bologna just enough - stop white linen - moving home this month so new adventure. Love it!
I really enjoyed browsing at all the stalls!!! It was fun seeing the beautiful things in Ricardo Barthel's too. The sketchbook is a precious treasure!! So happy you have it now! Love from Vermont
You and your decorator/ cameraperson are doing a great job pickin’ as they say in the US. The villa will be the most fantastic retreat for you, friends and family. Good luck and great pasta makes it all come together. Lol. Of course, all the talented Italian artisans and craftspeople help! Beautiful! 👋🏼😊🇺🇸💕
So inspiring, Julie!!! I just wish the post was twice as long...I want it to keep going. Your design choices are beautiful and I can see your vision coming together step-by-step! Bellissimo 😘
I am enjoying your adventures there and the reconstruction of il tua piccola casa. I am an American living in Italy, I wish I was closer to where you are to say hello. I am in the north in a town called Trento. Buon lavoro!!
I have a bath just like that I found on a old farm I had it restored the first time I took a bath was amazing it was deep and the water stayed hot for ages love my bath I hope you love yours 🙏
I enjoyed this posting more than any other I have watched. I am a flea market freak! Love to roam around for hours when ever I get the chance. I call it… ah haunting day. 👻
Ciao Julie Thankyou for this lovely visit to your casa coming on fabulous the second hand shop omg as you can see in the chat I was riveted I love the bath I could mix up a exotic smelling bath salts for those lazy relaxing days soaking in oils bath salts candles and maybe a glass of prosecco Bellissimo grazie my love😘😘😍😍❤️❤️👌👌🍸🍸
Wow that market in Parma is ginormous! Your house is going to be so phenomenal I cannot wait to see the end product. Lastly what an amazing thing to have returned to the family. It is so small and meaningful how wonderful. ❤️
Love the new light fixtures, great choices. the bed you liked is French and there are many many here in France for about 100 euros or less, the artist painter could do that some rough coat on any bed. But I agree, it was beautiful, just depending on how much it was :-) I have found the professional markets are more expensive by ALOT. paying for convenience of the time it takes to find what you want in flea markets I guess. but strange as those shows are for dealers and reselling. Love how excited you are about your piccolo casa
Love the bath, what a find, and the warm gold colour. I'm over 6 foot so I struggle to enjoy a bath that's big enough haha. The white paint above in the rooms is looking a tad blue, hopefully that's just on camera.
Fabulouso! Can't wait to see it all finished, your excitement is catchy, lol! Enjoyed and looking forward to watching your dream come to life! Ty for sharing! 🌿💙
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Cannot wait to see the bathroom completed. (I think the rust on the tub could be covered with a bronze burnish.) The lamp with glass lampshades is such a unique find. The loo should be a snug fit. Congrats with the flea market finds. Your piccola casa will be a lovely hideaway. Thanks for sharing.
Julie, I can identify with your confusion on the Italian word for “skirting” as we in the US call it baseboards…sure is a challenge keeping up…. Love your vlog from PA, USA.
WOW! i could not stay focused in those massive buildings...i would get so overwhelmed...BUT the iron lamps at min.15 would be great for your roof top balcony... the bathroom light fixture is so beautiful and it looks like there is a pretty design on the bottom of the globes...so perfect...
Such a wonderful Vlog Julie! Just loving how the house is coming along and I’m taking note of all the great places you shop at, as I’ll be buying things for my own little house makeover in Tuscany, later in the autumn. I can’t wait! Thank you for sharing 🥰🙏🏼
The bath tub is gorgeous, I love how long the tub is. You really do fabulous decorating… it’s the attention to detail that I enjoy the most. I can’t wait to see these flea market areas are! Thanks for taking up with us!
You're back with an update video! Oh my gosh, tremendous! It was great to see the tub being brought in thru the window, and the colors for the walls are coming out fabulously. And just the bathroom into a magazine? No, no, no ... the whole freaking place! When it is finished of course. And double doors between kitchen and living room, excellent idea. The painting on the headboards isn't terrible, a classic Italian feel to it actually, yet ok. And that frame, super! And the herb storage piece, spectacular! And yes, the painting is very nice. As is the wonderful green wardrobe with flowers painted on the side ... maybe it could work as a cupboard in the kitchen, maybe, maybe. And yes, artsy tiles for the kitchen is a must ... lol. The overhead lamp for the bathroom looks great, as does the bathroom sink! When this place is completed, hope your planning to rent this place for weekends or week stays, cheers!😎👍
I loved the decor on the headboards....! I would love to see a chandelier some where in your place. Nothing too much, but with blown glass flowers? Under stated...
I’m dying for those antique linens
Wawwwww having that sketch book back in your family is just magic❤❤❤

I love your energy!! And appreciate the effort you make to use Italian words. Well done!!!
That was an amazing story about the sketch book...what are the odds!!
How special to receive the sketch book! Can't wait to see your italian Paradiso all finished!!!
Wonderful to know the goodness of social media! Congrats on your family receiving Lady Rosemary's sketchbook. 😍👍🏾

Julie I think an American would call the glass on your bath chandelier globes.
I can't even imagine what the bathtub restoration cost! (I live in Firenze, and the artisans are not cheap)
No worries, let her husbands worry
Hi. It is Herbs in the UK. Erbs is American 😁😁😁. Love watching you guys xx
Isn't erbs French as well
But that's French, not English 😅
