@@arieee8732 i feel like SOE didnt really have much of a "gritty" atmosphere and that it kinda ruled because of that. its much more vibrant, jazzy, and bloody, and i think those things make it unique, fun, and interesting, without needing to be "gritty"
1. I loved starting with a pistol and working my way up buying more as I get points, I remember in the first few rounds, I'd shoot the zombies legs about 6 times and knife to maximise points. 2. Holding off barriers in the first few rounds, you felt like you're literally stuck in a place and if you were a team, each person would only do their barrier or one more, and maybe even steal someone's kill if you're cheeky. Once one area got hard, you opened up the next area, and someone would be generous enough to open the first door. 3. The characters having a personality, and phrases they usually say time to time, although this isn't essential like we didn't have it on maps like Town etc 4. The maps having a theme and atmosphere, imagine maps like Kino, Nacht, and then Shangri La and Buried, all had their own theme and atmosphere which made them unique, Buried even had its own HUD 5. Pack a Punch actually meaning something, not only does the machine increase your firepower, but a lot of weapons would get a unique feature, like the Cross Bow and Ballistic knives from BO1 could revive downed players, the M16 would get a Grenade launcher, remember in BO3 how you could pack a punch again and get a new ability like the electrocution, or thunder gun like bullets 6. The maps having smaller easter eggs which were just fun, I don't mean the story easter eggs, but like those 3 rocks you collect on Kino and a song comes on 7. I actually love the Nazi zombies theme, the story being about something going wrong by the Nazis when they were doing experiments, this added a feel and vibe to the maps. Rather tentacles and beasts and worms.... 8. Remember when power ups actually meant something? When we were on round 40+ and out of ammo, and we were waiting for Max Ammo. I loved when zombies was about trying to survive until the highest round possible, which took skill and patience, where even reaching round 50 was a challenged, even for good players. There are so many other things that can be said, such as small things like the hacker on moon, you could hack the box and wall guns, and that old mansion in Buried with that maze behind it, where is that creativity gone in zombies?

Why do they keep catering to Warzone/Multiplayer players in Zombies! they can go play those gamemodes instead of having to give zombies fucking armour, scorestreaks, salvage and fucking custom classes.
@gxtodd While I agree that zombies ain't a "niche" in some perspectives, he has a good point on how it doesn't get enough players in, and there's a reason why bo6 zombies feels like MWZ. It's because you are.gonna have every 2023 player transition to Bo6 and a lot of them are used to mwz mechanics minus the grindy scavenging systems I think treyarch is moving forward and doing it right because they are experimenting and trying to build new aspects within zombies because if they kept listening to us then we'd be playing WaW at high graphics with zero game changes.

Would be better if Liberty Falls wasn't even a thing. I havent enjoyed a CoD since BO4 and stopped buying them, but i was gonna buy BO6 just for the zombies. After ive seen the gameplay, im gonna skip this one too. Zombies is exactly the same as CW and gameplay looks too much like Warzone. @DeathByZombieGames Liberty Falls shouldnt have been a thing because it made people 2nd guess the gameplay of BO6 zombies (or it could've been kept in the game but not been revealed). People wanted BO1-4 zombies, not Cold War/Warzone zombies. I'm fine though, I play on PC so I can go back and play any previous zombies with custom maps. Console players aren't so lucky. Fun Fact about the bonus maps in BO1: The zombies mode from WaW was forbidden here in Germany and a couple other countries, and outside of importing an Austrian version there was no way to play zombies here. At all. BO1 changed that by finally having a version of the maps without swastikas. Everyone I know, including myself, preordered the prestige version the second they heard it had the zombies mode included. I still don't regret preordering that game to this date.
Really the only issue is that they are calling this a core map, if it was an extra with some of its own content it's fine but like, would you guys rather this not be here for added content and just have the base map you'll get bored of in a week?
@@superspyro8940 honestly for gameplay showcases and release I would have preferred only Terminus, I was so hyped from the trailers and the moment I saw Liberty Falls gameplay at COD NEXT I lost all my hopes of it being the first good zombies in a long time. (That's assuming Terminus is any better but we have already seen it has Cold War/Warzone mechanics so I'm not holding my breath.)
It's a casual map that is easy for anyone to get into. You need stuff like that to attract new players. Terminus is too complicated for someone who has never played zombies to really get into. You don't have the time to really read what each interactable part does, unless you get a crawler and explore--which a new player isn't going to know about and may not consider. Liberty Falls is fine for what it is and who it is geared for, IMO.
@@wyattherness6730 Okay let me word is simpler for you. Imagine you never played zombies before. You load up Liberty Falls first, and Terminus second. If you were a new player who usually just plays warzone or something, what would be easier to get into? I didn't say it was too complicated, I said it was too complicated for a new player. I know this from playing with randoms myself on Terminus lol. Terminus is definitely the better map, but Liberty Falls is great for two things: New players, which is an important demographic, and also mindless farming for skins and whatnot. Think beyond your own needs and desires, and more about what's good for the game.
I mean the Giant was just Der Riese but without the grittiness and two side easter eggs, classified added new areas, added the shield, and made the player stronger so anyone can just hop on and have fun on it
To fix the aura of the map, they should make it get progressively more "zombified" as you reach higher rounds (perhaps every 5 rounds or after each dog round) that would really make it feel like you are witnessing the outbreak unfold from the very first moments where the town is still pristine, to when the town has been fully overrun and trashed by zombies
@@sjrkleijer5878 to be fair, while my idea would be really cool, it would require re skinning the map multiple times over, which would not only be very processor intensive in an actual in-game environment, but also absurdly labor intensive for the art team. You look at a single screenshot, even without the HUD, of a WaW-BO4 zombies map and you automatically say “ah that’s zombies gameplay” even if you don’t like the game or map, it was automatically recognizable, zombies was its own thing. This just looks like “generic shooter the game, but with zombies in it”.
@@lopeshick9607 EXACTLY. new zombies has zero feel to it. you can immediately identify what is zombies gameplay from older games. maybe it's because the last cod i bought was MW19. but literally every single cod from that point on has looked the exact same. everything just looks like warzone but either with or without zombies in it. it's soul-less slop
The unique draw for Five was the elevator. It came on the heels of the Der Riese catwalk. Camping was the main strategy at the time. So, we camped in the elevator. That lead to some made scrambles to "Push the Button!" before we got overwhelmed. Scrambling out on the lower level to quickly get some MP5 ammo and get back before the horde caught up. Not advancing past speed cola upstairs as that was generally the risk/reward line for revives. It was different. It was fun.

his definition of what a bonus map is is flawed imo, a fifth point should be there to clarify the bonus part is referring to it being there in addition to a already planned/existing primary zombies map. nacht does not make sense to call a bonus map, it's definitely a special case as the entire gamemode didn't exist prior to it. everyone other one is a bonus map whereas nacht would be considered a bonus gamemode. it literally just comes down to how you define it but you're right, based off Milo's 4 metrics it would technically be a bonus map.

I think you're loosing the plot majorly, there's obviously passion but when devs are at the mercy of Activision making them do things they don't want to do it ends up being not as good. I loved cold war zombies even if it's not perfect it's fun and outbreak was honestly pretty cool even if it was just using fire team as it's map.

One thing I'll disagree with is all the things Milo said about the Winter's Howl. On classified, it's actually statistically better than the BO1/BO3 thunder gun as it can wipe more trains for more kills. They released a patch sometime after launch of BO4 making the winters howl a 4 shot kill permanently after a certain round with no trigger hesitation so you can fire off 4 shots almost instantly.
It all went wrong at bo4. What is that HUD? Next game. Why are there healthbars and its so bright it doesnt even feel like zombies. Its getting worse every game.
Bo4 is still better than that absolute crap that is cold war bo4 was at least difficult cold war is so easy you would have to be retarded to struggle in any way on that garbage game
For what it's worth, they've confirmed you can customize the HUD to be minimalist and traditional, with no healthbars, damage numbers, or minimap. It's not much, but credit where it's due.

I think cause shield parts having multiple locations, and people complaining about them being hard to find was a reason. And with warzone being popular, I’m sure they thought by adding in the plate system they could bring in some familiar mechanics for newer players. I never minded collecting parts and crafting the shield. Searching for them when a new map released was part of the fun. And it also provided more content for content creators. Removing the shield for the plate system was a huge mistake.

I do have to say that the bo1 remastered maps story aren't a 10/10 only because they replace the Marines with the og crew, which is never actually explained, and Dr. Monty in Bo3 just kinda shrugs it aside. This especially gets worse since after Bo1, they do more with the Marines in Verrukt with Smokey and Banana getting a radio in Revelations. Alpha Omega even revealed that the unnamed marine survived along with his name as he is the one that recovers Peter McCain body for Broken Arrow. This, for me personally, hurts the fact that all remaster of the maps just shove ultimis in especially since there's no reason to use the og crew.

Dude just as I thought zombies had maxed out its TH-cam content Milo comes out with a whiteboard running maps through calculus formulas. It’s been a while since I’ve given a shit to watch zombies content 🔥 Rofflewaffles takes the crown for this era of zombies content
After release, I can confidently say, aesthetically unique, though under whelming and not zombies enough. I think a small amount of ruin could sell a "recently shafted" city as it is lore wise a bit better. Gameplaywise, I love it. Good train location in spawn, decent enough easter egg where the elements of said easter egg where somewhat obvious enough to figure it out completely solo (and with no guide). The only things I didn't find intuitively or by world clues were the wires and the crafting location for the jet gun, but to be completely honest I got lucky on a box roll after seeing the floating hat and didn't actually look for them. The map has some pretty good natural difficulty, as it's easy to get over-run quickly even in a good training location, and if you're not extremely careful and thoughtful with your rotations through it when that happens you will die in the chokepoints between open areas. All in all, despite its flaws it FEELS like a good zombies map.
This essentially is the finished version. We’re only a month out from release. You must understand that modern cod “betas” are simply marketing tools to get people to try the game for free, presenting all the best elements of the game in as little time as possible. No useful “data” or “feedback” is coming from these “betas” that could possibly be acted on in only a single month of production.

Same, haven't been buying CoDs, used to love zombs. I was really hoping the extra development time was going to be the difference Treyarch needed this time. Doesn't look great atm. To be fair the DLCs are always the good stuff, so as long as the gameplay is fluid and fun there is hope.
In my eyes literally the ONLY thing town has going for it is aura. It looks good. It looks like a treyarch map. But just like farm and bus depot, all you can do on the map is shoot zombies until around round 30. But town lets you buy four perks and upgrade so it beats out farm and bus depot. It’s ironic to me that everything you dislike about LF is what I like most. This is my first zombies ever and after first playing Terminus I loaded into LF and told my friend, “it’s bright outside!”. This being my first experience with zombies I wasn’t looking as much at the “aura” and was instead just wanting to understand how the game worked and played in an enjoyable environment. I think it shows a potential place for LF being a noob friendly map that focuses on simplicity
One of the bigger issues I have with the newer zombies map is the UI. All the older zombies maps had amazing UIs fitting with the map theme and feel. After BO3 it all went down hill
something you may have forgotten about with town and the maps on bo2 is you could select what round to start on and if you wanted dog rounds or not. such a fun mechanic when you’re 12 years old and wanna start on round 20 for shits and giggles. used to mess around with it for hours

6/10 makes sense though, just because you have to factor in how often people would replay farm or bus depot. I think I have also replayed bus depot more than tranzit haha
I am personally in the group of people who has replayed Tranzit hundreds of times, while only playing Town a handful of times. I love hearing Victis, Maxis, and Richtofen and I prefer the slightly longer setup (aside from pap, which I do think is badly designed). Learning the layout of the fog and how to use denizen teleporters also helped out a lot, but by fully figuring out Tranzit it ended up making the prospect of playing Town all the more unappealing to me
I do not think I have touched town since I was a child playing bo2. I’ve gone back to tranzit and the other bo2 maps. But there is zero reason to play town. Your max round is mid 30s based on weapon power. Its just like nacht but you can have four perks and the ability to upgrade your weapon.

@@arieee8732 i feel like SOE didnt really have much of a "gritty" atmosphere and that it kinda ruled because of that. its much more vibrant, jazzy, and bloody, and i think those things make it unique, fun, and interesting, without needing to be "gritty"
@@ratofthecity6351yeah not gritty but something unique, man I miss old zombies.
3. The characters having a personality, and phrases they usually say time to time, although this isn't essential like we didn't have it on maps like Town etc
4. The maps having a theme and atmosphere, imagine maps like Kino, Nacht, and then Shangri La and Buried, all had their own theme and atmosphere which made them unique, Buried even had its own HUD
5. Pack a Punch actually meaning something, not only does the machine increase your firepower, but a lot of weapons would get a unique feature, like the Cross Bow and Ballistic knives from BO1 could revive downed players, the M16 would get a Grenade launcher, remember in BO3 how you could pack a punch again and get a new ability like the electrocution, or thunder gun like bullets
6. The maps having smaller easter eggs which were just fun, I don't mean the story easter eggs, but like those 3 rocks you collect on Kino and a song comes on

Because zombies is niche and doesn’t get enough players as the other modes, be happy we even get zombies anymore

It's a casual map that is easy for anyone to get into. You need stuff like that to attract new players. Terminus is too complicated for someone who has never played zombies to really get into. Terminus is definitely the better map, but Liberty Falls is great for two things: New players, which is an important demographic, and also mindless farming for skins and whatnot. Think beyond your own needs and desires, and more about what's good for the game.
Classified over The Giant has to be a crime.

I do have to say that the bo1 remastered maps story aren't a 10/10 only because they replace the Marines with the og crew, which is never actually explained, and Dr. Monty in Bo3 just kinda shrugs it aside. Alpha Omega even revealed that the unnamed marine survived along with his name as he is the one that recovers Peter McCain body for Broken Arrow.

@@Nosebump I'm sure MP will be good I've always prefered treyarch when it comes to MP, but I doubt anyone is going to look back on CW or Bo6 Zombies fondly, if there wad a time to reminisce about CW zombies itd be rn and the community doesn't seem to have warmed up to it even years later, unlike Bo3 where after a couple years everyone came around
@@Nosebumpmaybe Mr spaceghost is making too broad of a generalization as there are prolly a few people that liked Cold War, but my parents also ingrained that lesson or rather saying of, “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.”. That saying is for things given to you, like a meal your mom cooked or clothes from a charity, not for things you buy. If you bought something and didn’t like it, you have full right to complain
in fairness a few of these categories youre ranking are personal preference like "aura" i personally dont care if the zombies map looks all "apocalyptic" and what not and now that the map is released id put the gameplay almost up with town and DEFINETLY above nuketown zombies
Liberty falls doesn’t look like a zombies map because the story is that it’s literally 1 day after the outbreak as stated as you spawn in.
he wouldnt know that because he didnt play it two months ago lol
honestly It feels like they just dont want to pay big voice actors to play a new set crew, I cant see ANY other reason they keep doing this.
But they literally DID do that. So…..
I honestly think it'd be a waste of resources to have a one off Canon Crew for this map(since it takes place at the same time as Terminus).
We'll probably be having out Terminus Crew on every other Map, so 1 Map with just Operators is fine with me.
26:31 “when I first clapped eyes on Liberty Falls’ cheeks” …. Okay Milo pls stop using zoomer vocabulary it’s turning my mind into goo 😢😂
Underrated 💀
The Gen alpha vocabulary stays for ironic purposes, we must suffer
Milo's whiteboard vids are now my favorite part of youtube
One of the bigger issues I have with the newer zombies map is the UI. All the older zombies maps had amazing UIs fitting with the map theme and feel. After BO3 it all went down hill
The guy who came up with Liberty Balls on stream casually cured my depression.
It’s the Map has No identity AND they warzoned Zombies
something you may have forgotten about with town and the maps on bo2 is you could select what round to start on and if you wanted dog rounds or not. such a fun mechanic when you’re 12 years old and wanna start on round 20 for shits and giggles. used to mess around with it for hours
Oh dang an ancient footage of the Relaxing End before he went full unboxing channel transition, hopefully BO6 will rekindle his joy to zombies again
He is a sell out. And nobody likes him
You should take this video down now
Been watching off and on for years. Seeing your intelligence combined with goosebumps is impressive. Gives me hope for a better tmrw. Make zombies great again. Good job Milo 😇
Coming back to this just to say, Liberty Falls is awesome and a ton of fun :)
Yup, me and my friend have been replaying it daily since launch
I still am of the opinion that we didn’t see half of liberty falls because the EE is locked.
Leave it to the zombies community to over criticize and kill a map before it even fully releases
Im totally hoping aswell! That maybe they learned from letting playtesters beat the EE in FirebaseZ, so theh mightve have given a demo'd map.
But tbh, it could really be the biggest amount of copium.. and even if they did have a bigger basement level (like five). It wouldnt explain, or take away from the map being too big, with too much space everywhere you go.. 😞
To be fair its still not confirmed if it's locked or not
The cope is real
@@xxstephxx1005look at it bro😐
A month later and it's a top 3 Zombies map all the time.
Worse than Riot? 💀💀 No shot.
This kind of sensational mob mentality title is going to put you on Treyarch’s bad side again bro.
14:25 personally, I have replayed town hundreds of times and Tranzit very rarely, mostly just with friends. Keyword being replayed. I would be interested to see if others have replayed Town or Tranzit more. Especially for a solo experience
@@BumpTune8462if your on co-op you can get all perks. And I might be wrong but can’t you pack a punch your gun as many times as you want and it gets stronger in bo2 or does it just change the attachments after the second pack ?
@@EternalHunter420only the first pack boosts the damage everything else after that just changes attachments
It’s so funny to see this now after we all realized that liberty falls is better than terminus
I love “five”. Liberty balls sucks well balls ⚽️ ⚽️ 😂
Balls
I’m kinda shocked you think so. Nuketown sucked in comparison. The giant was literally just der reise.
It’s been like a decade and a half since zombies first came out. Why do people want the exact same formula to keep being released over and over?
Honestly a great take, I found Liberty Falls/Terminus to be a nice refresh on the zombies formula. And hot take too, I enjoyed CW zombies. I will now see myself out haha
"Liberty Falls" ❌️
"Taking a Liberty" ✅️
Waffles is secretly telling us he hates his job and all of zombies 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The cod zombies community when they don’t get der riese for the 700th time: 😠😡🤬
Fax
For me zombies needs to be dark to some degree to have that horror feel
The funny thing is, it isnt a bonus map never was.
You will regret giving liberty balls EE a 10. Mark my words.
How?
In comparison to the other maps, even if it's an extremely short Main EE, it's still a Main EE(that's not even including the Side EE's).
He didn't say "The Liberty Falls Main Easter Egg is a 10/10".
The best the other Bonus Maps has were Music EE's, or small EE's.
@@Sir_Slimbread I don't think he should rate anything a 10/10 without knowing anything about it yet. I get that it's the only one with an EE, but if it's extremely short or just terrible then I still don't think it deserves a 10/10 just because it's there.
@@liam4184you could say that about eating anything on the map at all. He also gave the story a 4/10, when all we have from that is a banger cutscene, and don’t even. Fully know what happens.
He’s rating the fact that it will have a main EE, which compared to the others does score a 10/10.
@@joshuacollins9316 Ok, maybe in that case having EE as a thing to judge is a little stupid considering only one of them has an EE. They should all score 0 expect this one in that case.
@@liam4184 if you watched the vid you know why he scored it that way. Each map has diff forms of minor Easter eggs on their own , so they’re not all 0.
