Tim I'm sorry this is a really stupid comparison because you know damn well people are going to choose the old maps the old mechanics everything that happened in the old zombies people are going to choose that regardless
Ngl as someone born in the 2000’s (2005) being able to play both new and old zombies growing up, I can say both zombies are fun as long as you aren’t blinded by nostalgia, I play most games with an open mindset and don’t look for the flaws first.
I’m 27 and I grew up playing the OG zombies. I was like 11 or so when WaW and consequently zombies came out. You didn’t play them growing up the same way. You had to go back to play them which isn’t the same. Having played the originals as they came out and the new ones I like them both
@Austinfright you can definitely be like 4 or 5 and play zombies. Most ppl born in the 2000s played them. Thus youtuber is 24 he def played em the same way. He wasn't even a teen when they dropped.
What I dislike the most with the points change is that it is designed with the thought process that everyone gets the same amount of points equally, but in reality the person with the most points will get rid of the most zombies, therefore, hogging more and more points over time to themselves leaving even less points to everyone else in the future. This was never an issue with the original point system as zombie eliminations had no relation to points.
Can’t we accept that og zombies were good and modern zombies like Cold War and bo6 are also really good. Different styles but working under the same formula of zombies. The foundations of zombies are there for both og and new zombies. Og has cooked and games like Cold War and bo6 are cooking
Absolutely, it all boils down to people who grew up with old games refusing to accept that new can also be good, even if it don't fit their specific preferences. It's the age old "things were better back in MY time" argument. Bo6 is the best zombies we've had in a while, and it's definitely perfecting the formula that had been brewing since Bo4/CW. People just like hating on the new stuff so they'll feel better about themselves for being "TRUE OGs!!!!"
I love all 3 eras of zombies, the experimental era with bo3, IW, and bo4. The classic era being waw, bo1, and bo2. And the modern era being Cold War and bo6. It just depends on what I feel like playing day to day.
i feel like bo2 is a part of the experimental side as well since they tried to broaden the maps like Tranzit, Mob, Buried, Origins especially with new innovating things on those maps as well.
I hate this objectivity that we all try to apply to zombies. Someone who's favorite map is Die Maschine is just as valid as someone who's favorite map is Origins. There's little objectivity to these maps and its all down to the subjectivity of what you find important in a map. For me, my top 3 maps are Origins, Dead of the Night, and Zetsubou
exactly. there’s no objectivity to any of this really, some don’t like any zombies some like everything and there’s inbetween. just enjoy what you enjoy.
nah you’re wrong, people who have been playing zombies since the old days have a more valid opinion on what makes zombies good, and that’s just a fact, anyone can come in from warzone for example and say liberty falls is the best map ever made when it just isn’t, but how would they know any better if they haven’t played shadows of evil for example, or mob or origins.
@@apophics6758while op does make a valid point I do gotta say I agree with you more a lil, just fucking sucks that we get looked at like we in the wrong when in reality we just trying to let it be known they didn’t have to do so many drastic changes, especially the point system. They try and say we want the game to be “easy” like round 30 should not feel like round 50 or above, you want zombies to be challenging? Grind the rounds it’s not even that hard and you can blow by rounds especially solo. Liberty being best map? When we had simplicity like town or nuketown sure there weren’t boss zombies but it was the layout that was the challenge same with die rise despite it getting horrible flak is a really fun map because of its layout and challenge not just +5 bullet sponge manglers in a open area.
Yeah and then I got bored in 5 mins. No EE. No good weapons. No perks or pack. Zombie chronicles was peak but straight up the classic 4 maps kinda were boring.
@@BectonBen98 yeah those devs at the time really lacked skill and polish. Thankfully by the end of bo2 they got pretty skillful. And cold war onwards they're masters of the craft
I do agree, the only map with atmosphere in Cold War was Mauer Der Toten and Die Maschine; BO6 is picking it up with Terminus and the new map releasing.
I don't think BO3 should be roped in with classic zombies, TBH. Gobblegums, AATs, and 3 hit without jugg made it feel leagues different than the 3 games before it.
I partially agree, but at the same time, it is the last time this game was mode was clearly identifiable as COD Zombies. Like if I was walking by and I saw someone playing it out of the corner of my eye, I would immediately go oh, that game is an evolution of WAW,BO1, and BO2. I don't think I would be able to do that with BO4 as easily, and would have zero ability to make that connection with CW and BO6.
@@iamoctonateYou can tell when a game mode is cod zombies because there's zombies in it... BO6 and Cold War still have multiple zombies elements, they just added more.
Black ops 6 zombies is honestly in my opinion The most decent zombies we've had in a very long time now all I ask what this game is tone down the mini boss/elites health and buff the damage on the weapons at least a little bit more so people won't resort to spamming the GS45s the entire game
I've been playing zombies since waw seeing the first dlc verrukt drop. All the zombies up to now are fun in their own ways and have innovated or added because that's what happens over 10 plus years. It doesn't need to be a debate people just need to shut up and shoot zombies and enjoy the game they want to
No debate old zombies will forever be better for the OGs and the newer generation will never understand Lets keep this in mind that this is just my opinion😂 I still have a ton of fun with zombies now, sometimes it just doesnt have the same vibe anymore, still super fun though
So old is better for the old generation. Newer is better for the newer generation. In other words neither is actually better it just depends on who you are.
@@GothicHellhound started on world at war and bo3 was kinda the transition between new and old gen, really enjoyed bo3 too and infinite as well. Still can enjoy the newer games but bo1 and bo2 were the best
The thing is I understand im a never person I started playing zombies in bo3 I did not really like it, never enjoyed the gobblegum system (luck while rolling on which youll get from divinium, and also luck while rolling in the machine) I started kinda liking it more in bo4, dont attack me, I liked the ancient wonder weapon specialists, they were cool, op but cool. Cold war was my game I loved it but I got vanguard before cold war, damn vanguard, I dont ,,hate” it, but why no splitscreen zombies??? Cold war in my opinion made things better, yes I get it ,,easy game”. But I liked it, nay I LOVED it, from the perk system to the wonder weapons, to NON RNG BASED UPGRADES.
I’m not hating on bo6 zombies, it is quite fun for one game but how easy and noob friendly the game is, makes it very boring for a OG WAW player. I miss when zombies stressed you out since one little mistake can get you killed in an instant. Hints why Verrückt is my all time favorite map
The issue with the old games is that they get boring very quickly if you know there are newer games with more features. At the time, I never got bored of playing Kino or 5 because those were the newest maps with the most features. But if I played them know, I’d get bored and just play something newer like Bo3, CW or Bo6. I don’t let nostalgia blind me
I don’t think zombies is the type of game where you have to keep changing the formula. The basic formula works. All they need to do is make new maps with cool new wonder weapons and Easter eggs.
It’s not even that I dislike modern zombies that much it’s the fans that pretend like classic zombies is just about nostalgia and continue to negate the fact that the mode they like today wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for how peak the older titles were
Who cares if the older modes “were the foundation of modern zombies”, that doesn’t matter if you’re objectively judging which one is funner to play. All that matters is your objective experience
I was playing WaW zombies with my dad at 9 and I have been pretty much growing up with the CoD games and I think it depends on what you're talking about.
The problem with modern zombies is that all the classic elements of the gamemode are redundant. Box hits Useless Wallbuys Useless Using %90 of the weapons Useless Conserving points Useless
I personally think it really depends. I grew up with World at War and Black Ops, and one of my biggest fantasies at the time was that we would one day have the ability to use our own, hand-selected loadouts in Zombies. BO3 got pretty close to that, but we still had to rely on RNG. Then in BO4, we had a limited selection of starting weapons (can't remember if we could customize our weapons, though. I haven't played it in forever). Cold War was fantastic because we finally got to use loadouts! But something felt a bit off. Could never quite put my finger on it, though. Haven't had the chance to play BO6 yet, so I can't say anything about it. I've heard positive things though, so that's good
I love both old and new zombies and classic zombies, classic were scarier and more ominous but were fun and challenging modern zombies is fun sometimes challenging but does have its moments but all zombies ever made have its moments
It’s like having an iPhone for 10 years, every year something new and cool is implemented but the barebones it’s still an iPhone. Now imagine you go get the next iPhone and it runs like an android. That’s what treyarch zombies is.
I think Zombies from BO2-BO4 is my favorite era of Zombies and had the best maps and mechanics overall (including Infinite Warfare and WWII) Zombies before that was a little too barebones for my taste even though I loved it back then, and Zombies nowadays has a bunch of other issues holding it back (like the new point system and the Warzone influence), but it’s still fun.
100%. BO2, BO3, BO4 are zombies in its prime for me. I still love BO1 but like you said, a little too barebones. And the majority of weapons are awful in that game I’ve put a lot of time into CW and BO6 and I just can’t get into it and I think it boils down to all the changes they’ve made like the point system, weapon rarities, armor, killstreaks
Tim I just got to say I’ve been watching since probably 2017 and I remember when you had you’re kids and now there that big time just flies bye love you man
Mostly us oldheads want the old point system back points per hit instead of points per kill like the new games does I feel points per hit on a zombie allows you to experiment with all the weapons.
I really do miss some features of old zombies, but the cod bo6 zombies we have now is really fun on its own merits. We also have to wait and see what they do for new maps. A massive portion of where my enjoyment comes from with this new zombies is the extra rewards/upgrades you unlock for yourself as you play. its fun
I grew up with bo2 as my first zombies game, I have very fond memories of playing split screen co op on town at sleepovers and trying to get a high round (we weren’t that good, our record was 21 camping by double tap). With that being said I love the modern games and enjoy the mechanics for the most part. They made it fresh while still feeling like zombies, and that’s not easy to do. If they just stuck with the old formula the mode would’ve slowly died out as less and less people played. I love stuff like a zombies camo grind, it gives you a reward to chase, especially with it broken down to 4 mastery camos that you do in order. You get headshots, do the 2 special challenges, then do the gold challenge. Once you complete the number of guns that were in the class at launch you can do the opal challenge, then once you have opal for all guns you can go for afterlife, then after you do all of those you go for nebula. Nebula seems daunting but each challenge in the process is achievable and builds on the last
A lot of this comes down to your level of nostalgia. OG vs Modern is a common argument in so much more than just Zombies, and it’s always a “agree to disagree” arguments because most of time, neither side is willing to be open minded to understand either’s side of the argument.
Nostalgia is a useless thing to consider though, it just wears off after a few minutes. Idc that I used to play Kino back when I was young kid after I got home from school, all I care about is how fun and satisfying the game is
Im one of the OG i havent played any cod after mw2019 after hearing about bo6 i was throughly excited as i havent played any zombies games since bo3 and i was blown away the possibilities to so many things i could do to have a better experience like upgrading my weapon upgrading my perks, ammo mods etc i would finally have something to do until i reached the ingame endgame where that would mean grinding rounds till i got bored, so anyone saying zombies stopped being fun after bo2 or bo3 try bo6 its trying to be a succesor to bo3 and the story is amazing after watching a recap to keep up with the storyline
BO1 & BO2 will always be my favorite. I went to college when BO3 came out and didn't play it much. I definitely missed out on that great year. Came back to zombies during the cold war era and am now enjoying BO6. I always am filled with nostalgia when I see things about BO1 & BO2 zombies but when I go back and play them myself, mechanically they just don't feel as fun as BO6 or Cold War. Maybe those older games were just more fun with friends. But I definitely can't play them solo anymore. Just doesn't feel as good as newer zombies games mechanically.
New isnt bad, but it simply doesnt have the charm of the old games. THAT is what truly made them what they were. The aesthetic of the game, the dark, gothic-styled metal, the hidden details, everything. Not to mention the crews! The crews were so enjoyable, so loveable. Nowadays, the crew feels like a last thought. They really added so much. Imagine playing through Origins in Bo2 at launch with default characters who have little connection and barely any voice lines. It wouldnt have taken off like it did.
I feel like the crew in bo6 is starting to get that charm back especially on terminus i feel like they really brought back that OG vibe that was missing. Hopefully citadel de morts will really deliver that classic crew feeling and zombies map aesthetic even better than terminus did
@@Frozt_KSApeople always bring up the new crew in these debates when they’ve literally been in one map and they have plenty of dialogue with each other. It annoys that people just don’t even wanna give them a chance
i was born 2004 and played every single Treyarch zombies map up until Black Ops 4, played the three free maps that BO4 had then stopped, and now years later im back playing BO6 and i really enjoy the zombies just like i would with older zombies games
i have yet to even watch your video tim but i know for sure. an ending the debate video only ever starts it. and i hope that continues with you. you deserve the engagement cutie
About the old point system being better I have something really important to say about: The old point system was there to work on the simplicity of WaW and BO1, the "use smg to get as much points as you can" wasn't A strategy, it was THE strategy, and going for a high damage weapon on early rounds was shooting yourself on the foot. But then at round 10 you would get 10K points only on that round but use them all trying to get the wonder weapon out of the box, a good secondary weapon of your choice, then go one more round and buy Speed Cola (we all know we were buying Speed Cola every singe time after we get our weapons) and a fourth perk of your choice, simple but effective. Then we move on to Black Ops 3 where wonder weapons are buildable and we also have specialists, so now THE strat is to buy the RK5 on round 3 (unless you've done all of the Easter Eggs since you now have it from start) and maximize points from melee kills to open the map quickly and do the wonder weapons quest as early as possible. There's no need to hit the box at all so once you've opened all the map you'll quickly are going to get all of your perks, PaP at round 8 if you have just been efficient with your points and you are not playing Zetsubou. Now that we have a fixed ammount of points to set up and not a random one like before we start to see the problem with the old point system. BO3 ingame progression would have been ruined if it weren't for the quests to get wonder weapons and specialists very fun, engaging and that sense of progression we don't get now from the point system (if someone disagree please go play some good old Der Eisendrache and tell me that points don't become second-nature right after your first teleport to the rocket platform to get your bow step, and have fun in the process since it's a great map). We can say all we want about the new point system being dull and boring but I thing we all can agree that BO6 has perfected ingame progression with the new perk system and the triple PaP. I'm not against the idea of tweaking the point system a bit to have a more fun one but I really don't wish to go back to the old point system, it would ruin the game if we coudl buy all perks and have a triple PaP gun on roudn 13 and we all know that we will be using SMGs on early rounds every single time.
I’m saying this right now. I enjoyed every single zombies experience including the non treyarch ones. Even Vanguard, and even that DS port of black ops 1 zombies and that pc/psp portable zombies. I enjoyed every single experience. I bought all of them to have fun, and fun I did have and will continue to have fun because I am ok with change. Things will not always be the same, and sometimes we have to accept change because nothing is ever going to be the same going forward.
Bo6 is the first time in a long time that I've actually enjoyed zombies. You can bring any weapon you want, but you HAVE to upgrade it if you'd like to keep using it, so it still gives an incentive to hit the box, or use wall weapons. Augments for perks, ammo, and Ultimates are pretty fun & offer some out of game (longer term) progession. I really don't mind the armor system, because its 100% needed considering how chaotic the game gets around the 36-40 round mark.
My biggest issue with new zombies is every map has to share things. Cold war has tge same maps same bosses same perks. The maps dont stabd out as much. I wish they were a little more unique
I don't mind the shared perks since there's no cap anymore unlike the older games. Cold War had unique bosses in each maps, BO6 is my only complaint (Manglers...)
Me with the ultimate boomer take that Bo3 doesn't really count as "classic zombies" because of the massive shift to Lovecraft tentacle monsters (which I still hate to this day). WAW and Bo1 are the goats then Bo2 as a nice stop gap, and everything else is after that.
One opinion I heard in favor of the new point system was that if devs limit the variety of points that people could have at a given round, the devs would be able to much more accurately tell how strong a player would be. For instance, making the EE boss fights not be drastically easy for someone who was able to point farm efficiently or in the case of a new player having a much harder time when they aren't good at that pre bo4 era point system. While I do love the rewards of being able to strategically point whore every second of the game, I can see how that can vary drastically from player to player if given enough time/kills/rounds
i think a big issue almost nobody is talking about is how scorestreaks affect the maps, every map since cold war had to have big open areas outside so the chopper gunner & other air streaks weren't obsolete
Infinite warfare zombies look better than Cold War and bo6 zombies 💀 idk what it is about the recent zombies we’ve had they don’t have that “aura”. Also I’m 26 years old. I still prefer playing bo1-3 zombies than anything today
I’m 25 and I can say there was a significant theme change from BO3 onwards, and I think a lot of us who grew up with WaW onwards will agree that zombies just isn’t the same - and a lot of us don’t like the drastic changes that have developed over the last 15 or so years
I actually like the movement system of the old CoD games in zombies. The freedom of Cold War and Bo6 just removes any sense of tension. Oh, you're surrounded by a horde of zombies? Just hop over this fence or car and you're safe! It becomes this free for all sprint parkour fest instead of a skill of training zombies, which is manipulating the simple AI to be manoeuvrable (which is awesome and more nuanced IMO). In general, I think the sensation of being trapped in the map by limited movement enhances how you play the game and what threat the zombies pose to you
I think there is one more crucial category that was failed to be brought up in this video in terms of mechanics, and that’s the map variance. The thing that made classic zombies timeless throughout the years was the sheer difference in how almost every zombies map plays. It could be argued that modern zombies has the advantage of having a better weapon progression system because of how thorough it is, and on paper you’d be right. What classic zombies did to make up for the simplistic progression, or rather to expand upon it, would all be map dependent. Almost every map plays differently, even in the older games where zombies was still finding its footing. If I were to give an example of how each map feels and plays differently we’d be here all day, and that’s my point. Very few maps play and feel the same, because each map has its own unique twist to shape progression. The problem with modern zombies on this front, is that there was so much care put into how the weapon progression was interesting and balanced, that there was rarely anything put into maps that is nearly as unique as any classic zombies map. They all play the same because they all revolve around that central progression loop, and a lot of the maps don’t do enough to twist it in different directions. The only modern day zombies maps I remember catching my interest was Die Maschine and Mauer Der Toten. Say what you will about Cold War when compared to BO6, but at least Cold War still maintained different boss zombies that were dark twists on ones we encountered before with different abilities. Because now all we get is Manglers for the billionth time and abominations not following too far in their footsteps. What happened to megatons? Kranzy soldats? Even the amalgam boss feels like a mimic reskin. It feels a lot less original or innovative and more derivative and uninteresting, which only adds to how each map plays so similarly to each other.
With how price based everything is in zombies, they have 2 contradictory options of solving the weapon problem. 1: bring back the old point system while leaving in game purchases like pap and perks the same. 2: Keep the current point system with some adjusted critical and melee values, and only make a one pap system like in the older games. Also, adjust salvage to drop more with suppressors equipped from a 25% increase to a 40% increase. That way, players feel like they have more options and variety per match.
I feel like in classic zombies each map is so different from one another it’s like you need to play in a certain play-style in each classic map whereas in the modern zombies you can just have to same play style and same routine on every map you play on and can make every game you play on those maps feel the same in some way
Both eras are perfectly valid, and everyone can like what they want. Someone that thinks Bo6 is their favourite CoD has just as much right to think that as someone saying Bo3 was the peak and their favourite. The sooner people start respecting that it's okay to have differing opinions, the quicker the unnecessary and hateful toxicity from a vocal minority of elitists can be fixed.
I grew up with classic zombies, refusing to accept the new zombies. But I gave it a try at launch and I’m absolutely hooked. Both eras are great in their own way.
The thing I believe most people don’t think about is how easy it was to just play OG zombies, you could just pick a map and press play and you’d be entertained for hour, now days there’s so much set up and BS filling up your screen like characters and perks guns you just can’t sit down and play.
I enjoy both equally. I think it’s dumb to think every game should be a carbon copy of BO3. It’s the best hands down, but too much of anything isn’t good and I’m glad they are making some drastic changes. People in 2015 were complaining that SOE “wasnt zombies” because of the all lovecraft stuff, but now is considered a top 5 map, and I got a feeling that it’s a similar story with BO6. Coldwar was like the WAW of its new timeline and Bo6 is the BO1 of the new generation. We always have the old games to return to, but the series had to change and evolve to keep the momentum going. I love both the old and new zombies (excluding MWZ and Vanguard).
The only problem for me with the new zombies game is always online part. Like there's no historical and or real benefit for always online when internet goes out for some odd reason or just not having internet at all. Which I do believe that always online is always a disservice to games and users.
@@thekingofnoobs8362 true. It makes it all a bit more homogeneous and I would like to see less warzone features in zombies, but they implemented it descently enough to where it fits with the mode and isn’t just doing it for warzone’s sake.
8:10. Brother as far as spawning in with any gun is. The tier system does not balance it. You are only losing 500 salvage to get it up to the tier that a round one wall weapon would have. So in that sense spawning in with any gun is still super op
Personally, height for me was Chronicles and BO4. Something about having so many survival tools at our disposal, high rounds were about cycling & timing them as well as managing ammo, but you had enough freedom to switch up your strategy and every match could be different. BO4’s health cap at round 35 meant Wonder Weapons were best but not a necessity to get a kill. Points, AATs, Wonder Weapons, & fun perks (BO4 had 17 of them) made the old games fun. My biggest gripe of CW / BO6 is that it relys too much on sticking with 1 weapon and multiple tiered upgrade systems (rarity and PaP) for the early rounds, and armor, equipment, and killstreaks on the high rounds. Combined with the more “realistic” map themes the scifi and magical charm is missing.
Just play whatever version you prefer. Cod zombies has been around long enough that’s it’s become incredibly accessible for those who are new and old to the franchise. I’ve recently been going back to WaW and bo1 zombies again because those are the versions I personally enjoy the most and I don’t have any problems with people saying old zombies is trash, that’s their opinion.
I think map design also comes in-new zombies and old have completely different vibes. I think if you put the old point system in and get rid of the salvage system and just everything costs points it’d be better. And just give us color. 50 shades of brown is so annoying
They could fix the points system in modern zombies by just making wall and box weapons PaP starting at like round 30-35. They increase the tier already so just keep it going
I was born in 2000. I prefer slower, more horror-filled zombies experience than a fast-paced, objective game mode with zombies sounds and character skins.
Classic and modern zombies are both amazing in their own way, I think bo6 is the first time since bo3 where we in a situation where the engine functions perfectly the way it does and the upcoming maps should be what define this game since it has such a good base. Like imagine if bo3 had shit maps, everyone would likely shit on the engine as well, not because the engine is bad but because they don't like the game. Once bias can be looked passed in the zombies community we can finally accept games for what they are and be exited for what's coming. The way I see it, Classic zombies has already cooked, now we just need to let modern zombies cook, its just that the stubborn fans of only OG zombies wont let it cook because the seemingly don't want it to.
The classic zombies has a niche movement community, that is busted, and pushes the movement to its limits. Classic zombies movement isn’t limited or stiff.
Between bo3 and 2 I probably had over 3000 hours on zombies alone. Favorite games of all time. Never played anything after bo3 but bo6 brought back my love for the franchise. Goated zombies just gotta accept we won’t get bo3 back enjoy what we got it’s good.
i think bo6 zombies was a step in the right direction for both classic and new zombies fans. i will proceed to go back to the older games but I've been enjoying bo6 enough that I've been going for the aurora camos
I grew up with classic zombies. I started with kino and ended up playing every single zombies map from waw to bo6. I am nostalgic for classic zombies but I do enjoy (not vanguard) modern zombies alot as well.
for its both new and old 1) old because i started at WaW 2) Cold war Zombies Is Still great even in 2024 3) as for non treyarch zombies Infinite warfare zombies scratched a different kind of itch, 3 films with celebrities was a very nice touch
Man going back to the OGs is more fun and kinda relaxing, these new ones especially bo6 makes ya on toes , because god forbid you wantto lean your body for a sec
After seeing the point system, I can see why they had went from damage to kill point system. Because you can easily be indefinitely rich in the higher rounds and can constantly buy new weapons and upgrade it then repeat the cycle again as much as you want and you will never run out. But, the kill point system wasn't a new concept. Which it had existed in a WaW custom Zombie map. And I ultimately agree with the old point system more than any other point system. They can just use the same inflation with the old point system and players wouldn't struggle as much as a per kill. But at least they had capped zombies health.
I love both old and new zombies mainly just because either way im having fun. 1, 2, and 3s zombies were definitely peak though imo. I think what i love most about games like bo6and cold war is all the new movement options, and being able to spawn with whatever gun i like. I like the old games for having you spawn with nothing, so you can build yourself up. The newer zombie's definitely makes it so it isn’t really necessary to have every perk. You honestly just need a t3 papped gun and t2 armor and you could get to round 30 easily as long as you're decent imo. The boss spam in bo6 is real though, i sat in a public match and trained 4 manglers for an hour because of all the regular zombies making it a bit difficult to focus the manglers down. That's about my only major dislike of bo6, but ill probably just get better and it will become a non issue.
when going to high rounds, continuing to use a bullet weapon can work but will be much slower than any wonder weapon. this keeps wonder weapons being much better than bullet weapons but if you would prefer to continue with bullet weapons, the option is there and viable but will be noticeably slower, in both cold war and especially bo6
As someone who started zombies in WaW nacht back in 2008, I was playing zombies fanatically up until bo4. That's when I completely lost interest in the game , and zombies in general. I guess im the type of old timer who doesn't necessarily hate change, but hates *bad* changes, and bo4 mostly had bad changes leading to a negative experience overall. I tried CW zombies a decent amount, did the main EE in die maschine and FirebaseZ ,then dropped the mode entirely. It just doesn't feel like zombies anymore, there's no uniqueness and character across the maps , story and cast. I skipped the atrocity that was Vanguard and MwZ, but decided to give bo6 a shot. First two weeks I was lowkey excited to play, and I also did the EE for both maps solo. Even though bo6 zombies is taking a step in the right direction, it still doesn't have the replayability or vibe of classic zombies. I can't really see much incentive to keep playing .It's just a warzone zombies camo grinder, but this time I'm actually a bit interested in the story and looking forward to the new map and how the narrative will evolve. Tl;dr : It's the best zombies in 5+ years, but it has a long way to go
I grew up on Bo1 and Bo2 zombies, but i do enjoy Bo6 zombies granted it is a little rough around the edges it has so much potential if they dont screw it up.
I definitely agree with the enemies on classics. The point system I don’t really care. The story definitely goes to classics. And all the modern makes sense as well
There are definitely good and bad aspects to both. Like you said the movement in Bo6 is great, but the special/elite zombies could be removed entirely and I wouldn't miss them. Boss fights at the end of an easter egg are good but otherwise just give me normal zombies and dog rounds (different kinds of dogs like vermin are acceptable; just nothing too obnoxiously disruptive like manglers or amalgams is what I'm getting at). Also 100% agree that while custom loadouts are cool it takes away from actually needing to find a proper weapon in the game. Maybe a little before your time even but there is nothing in modern zombies like pulling a PPSH from the box in WaW. The feeling is completely lost
The original point system is inferior because it forced you to play a certain way. The new point systems allow you to kill zombies however you want. Why would you want to be limited to knife, then SMG, then finally the weapons you want.
BO3 is more modern than classic imo. Biggest changes that have happened are ammo types and gums, two things that I think took a lot of fun out of the games
My first zombies was bo2 last year and mw3 also last year. I like both for what they are but bo6 is the perfect combination for me. It feels like they took only the good Party from both modes and made it a game
I think blops 3 can't be considered "classic" era just because of gobblegums. Although Blops 3 is my favorite zombies game. Black ops 4 was a major deviation from the tried and true zombie formula, with the 200 hp, perk rework, that was when they introduced the points per kill system instead of points per hit if I'm correct. I honestly think blops 3 is deserving of its own category. Because it is mostly classic, but gobblegums was such a huge deviation from how zombies was played due to the strength of gobblegums.

@ i’m 19 buddy
💯💯💯
Assists still give you full points
Glad to see another dead of the night fan 🙌

No debate old zombies will forever be better for the OGs and the newer generation will never understand
Lets keep this in mind that this is just my opinion😂 I still have a ton of fun with zombies now, sometimes it just doesnt have the same vibe anymore, still super fun though
Eh, started on bo1 but enjoyed the bo3/infinite zombies most
So old is better for the old generation. Newer is better for the newer generation. In other words neither is actually better it just depends on who you are.

Hints why Verrückt is my all time favorite map
it stressed you out then because you sucked back then. we all did. I go back to those maps now and its much easier than i remember

If BO6 had the old point system, it's an all timer for sure
Nebula seems daunting but each challenge in the process is achievable and builds on the last
Ending the debate. I’m having fun on new zombies and old zombies are some of my best memories
Idc that I used to play Kino back when I was young kid after I got home from school, all I care about is how fun and satisfying the game is
@ exactly my point! I’m an OG zombies player and I can’t lie, I’m having loads of fun on BO6, enjoyed MWZ for what it was till I finished everything

About the old point system being better I have something really important to say about:
The old point system was there to work on the simplicity of WaW and BO1, the "use smg to get as much points as you can" wasn't A strategy, it was THE strategy, and going for a high damage weapon on early rounds was shooting yourself on the foot.
Great video and point to it all. Positive growth is the outcome everyone should want.
I'm an OG and I love classic zombies so much, however I do prefer modern zombies.
I enjoy bo2 bo3 bo4 cw bo6 spaceland mw3 alot
Some more then others and i started playing in the bo2 days
I'm also a story guy so I followed the aether and dark aether story pretty closely
I remember when you started man so crazy to see you have one million subs
I got into zombies in BO1 and loved it up til now. I don’t love how “warzone-esque” the new ones feel but I get why some people do it would.
The perfect way to sum of both parties is one doesn't want to stay out of your bedroom and the other one wants to tell you if you can own guns or not
I feel like in classic zombies each map is so different from one another it’s like you need to play in a certain play-style in each classic map whereas in the modern zombies you can just have to same play style and same routine on every map you play on and can make every game you play on those maps feel the same in some way
Both eras are perfectly valid, and everyone can like what they want.
Imagine your still hating on BO4 🙄
The problem for me is it's so warzone like if it was the same maps just with bo3 mechanics with some innovations I'd be okay with it
The only problem for me with the new zombies game is always online part. Like there's no historical and or real benefit for always online when internet goes out for some odd reason or just not having internet at all. Which I do believe that always online is always a disservice to games and users.
@ I fully agree with you
@@thekingofnoobs8362 true. It makes it all a bit more homogeneous and I would like to see less warzone features in zombies, but they implemented it descently enough to where it fits with the mode and isn’t just doing it for warzone’s sake.

1:25 Oh god that rings too true… But we all know the only good ending is the moderate side. Kudos to you Timmy.
OG WAW player and hated zombies after BO2. MWZ brought me back and BO6 made me love it again
I feel like he should have talked about WW2 more in this, especially in customisation. It and BO4 were the bridge from old zombies to new zombies.
I am nostalgic for classic zombies but I do enjoy (not vanguard) modern zombies alot as well.
for its both new and old
1) old because i started at WaW
2) Cold war Zombies Is Still great even in 2024
3) as for non treyarch zombies Infinite warfare zombies scratched a different kind of itch, 3 films with celebrities was a very nice touch
I love Tim's channel I didn't realize you posted I just saw you posted this video
Modern zombies maps have nothing on classic.
Be quiet please.

@@Dev7.62 I've never even played the modern games
@@Gooddog432-w1v why are you telling him to be quiet then you idiot ?
You need to be quiet if you haven’t even played the new games
W@w-b03 zombies are goated new zombies is fun but it doesnt hit the same
Man going back to the OGs is more fun and kinda relaxing, these new ones especially bo6 makes ya on toes , because god forbid you wantto lean your body for a sec
As a 26 year old, I must confess, I do appreciate how Weapons were actually pretty efficient at killing Zombies!☺
If older zombies had the movement, the upgrades, and graphics of current gen, then it would be the best zombies ever
It already is the best zombies ever.
Tl;dr : It's the best zombies in 5+ years, but it has a long way to go
Nice one tim, fence sitting really hard when in all reality we all know you prefer classic zombies
Honestly, having different mechanics in the games is nice. If it's a new game, it should be NEW.
Both are good, but the simplicity of old zombies is what made it so great.
