Your build has come a long way, I wait to see what you guys do next to upgrade. 💪🏾 TeamNewEdge
Thank you appreciate it! Yea we definitely have lots to do still. Team NewEdge 💪🏽
Can you help me I'll Pay you
@@deanthonyjefferson4207_Lmaoo he said "I'll pay you"😂😂_
I’ve watched every video of y’all building this GT and have to give y’all a huge thanks for helping simplify things on the 2v world , I have a solve 03 gt I’m trying to build and my brother has a 98 gt and hope to post something this summer on them 👍great work guys
Thanks for supporting the channel and we're glad to help fellow 2v owners! Good luck with your builds 👍🏼
Great video. Been following this build.
Thank you! We appreciate the support
Love the build! Subscribed!
Thank you!! It's going to be even crazier this year so definitely stay tuned
Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thanks! Most likely a nice brake upgrade
Definitely something I wish I could do to mine!
You should one day! It's a blast
More driving footage and some head to head action please…🤣🤣👍
Once the warmer comes we definitely will!! Can't wait
Oh man! The content!!! Love the 2022 Nee edge content! About to throw some x pipes on my 04 today. Slowly accumulating a turbo build! Fuel system / ecu / ignition system / wide band. I need to shell out the dollars for that on3 kit. I want it so bad haha Our 2vs are pretty identical in cosmetics! Black 04 5 speed I have beige interior tho and 89k miles clean title Cali car never seen salt. Moving to WI this year. She gone turn some heads down there!
Sounds like you're on the right path! Yeah it's a hefty price tag but so worth it especially for the power potential. That's great! I'm sure she's a head turner and it helps it hasn't seen any salt
This is a nice video , I have a 1997 with a v-1 s trim, I’m only making 277rwhp im thinking about either selling the vortech & going with a turbo setup or sending the v1 s trim to vortech so they can upgrade it to a t trim. I know I’ll need some pi heads to make more power aswell. I’m trying to keep it on a budget so I might also just use coyote rods .
I've watched your videos for over a year now.. and idk why I'm not subscribed.. definitely just did tho I'm also a fellow new edger 😜 cheers boys great content
We greatly appreciate this! Hahha well better late than never, thanks for joining us! 👍🏽 we got so many plans for this build in the near future so definitely have the notification bell on.
@@RatchetWrenches sure do my guy!!
Build looks good! Weird to stumble upon someone local in my youtube recommendations!
Thank you! And you live in NJ too?
This is sick. I have a 2003 new edge I swapped a 4.6 out of a crown Vic into.
Thanks yeah the car is definitely a riot to drive now that's for sure. The newedges are fun cars to learn on and mod. You got any plans to boost it?
Love the tail bov’s I got it on my procharger on my new edge
I've heard Tial's are great! I'm running the On3Performance BOV and think it sounds pretty damn good!
I lov your guys builds man I'm building a 99-04 but since y'all have done the turbo kit I got a saleen front an back bumber would I still be able to do a turbo kit set up bc I see most people have the cobra number for it
Thanks! And you should be able to I know people have supercharged Saleen's with front mount intercooler's so I wouldn't see why not! I'd definitely ask the company you plan on ordering from first though as I'm not 100% sure
Woooooo
So I have a question, I have an 04 gt and I'm starting my turbo build. But I already have the car on bags, the front bags use the spring purches so obviously when I buy my K member I have to get the one with the purches but will headers work with my set up? I want to run Shorty =length but idk if I have space
Dope man i was wondering what wheel set-up & size you got i plan on putting some just like that on my little 2v
- NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire - 315/35R17
- 28093 - Deep Dish FR500 Style Black Wheel - 17x10.5
- NITTO NT555 G2 Ultra High Performance Tire - 275/40R17
-28092 - FR500 Style Black Wheel - 17x9
@@RatchetWrenches I appreciate it man . Keep up the dope videos
Another new edge 2V owner here from Philadelphia area. What’s up! Nice work boys!
Where is everyone from?
Thank you! Appreciate it 🤙🏽we're from Somerset County!
well this convinced me... fuck a turbo in a 2v. that looked like way to much work im just gunna go for the procharger
Hahah yeah it’s definitely a lot more work that’s for sure. But allows for so much more potential down the line. And yes the pro charger is just a lot easier for sure
About how much power can the stock internals take? I've read somewhere they can't do more than 430-440 without something breaking. I have a 98gt that I want to boost now cause of you guys lol
That's awesome thanks! You definitely should boost it. And I've heard under 450 is relatively safe. Anything over you're risking the bottom end. But I have heard of one guy blowing his motor at 420hp so it really depends
you wanna keep it at 400 to the tires to be safe..... 450 is the max for bottom end and that will depend on the tune and engine for how long it survives.... All this info comes from the many years i searched the 2V forums on boosted and nitrous new edges.
Stock gt uses a forged powder rod. The weakness is not horsepower, because a rod cannot quantify this. The problem is torque curve, and cylinder pressure. We have had a handful make 450-500 on a dynojet and hold up, but why risk something so crucial and not just put a set of rods in. Cobra oem rods are an ibeam manley rod.
What hp and torque does the car have at the current boost level what’s the boost level and are the cams and heads stock ?
At the time of this video 435HP/458TQ at 7.5lbs. Camshafts were Modular Head Shop's "Stage 2" N/A. Heads had upgraded Manley Intake and Exhaust Valves and Beehive Springs
Got a 97 gt !!!!!What do I need besides the turbo kit it self … should I do head cam intake and then turbo ? Or turbo first ? Don’t know much about 2v always had 5.0s
Honestly it depends on your goals with the car! You can have a lot of fun and not break the bank without building the motor for under 500HP. But obviously building the motor is safer and you can crank it up. A common combo is heads and cams though yes. You'll need tubular k member, a arms and coil overs in the front with this kit
Have the same car same kit same color ect ect idk if I missed it but what ecu tuning you guy use
Nice! And we're currently on stock ecu still. Took it to a dyno down in Delaware
how long did it take ya to actually put the entire turbo kit in the car? ive got the money to get an on3 kit im just very hesitant on how long itll take, because i dont want to be carless for weeks
It's hard to say since we didn't work on it consistently but I'm fairly confident to say as long as your mechanically inclined and have all the right tools on hand it can be done in one weekend
@@RatchetWrenches i know its been a year but i ended up swapping instead. currently running a 5.4 out of an 04 cobra R. got it for a deal or else id just go LS6. should have it back tomorrow.
I got a 2000 v6 mustang want to build it but Dnt know if I can get much out of it or if it’s worth it
I personally don't think it's worth it but you could make it look cool! Just won't be fast unless you motor swap it
Will the cobra fog lights fit ? I noticed they aren't in there?
They fit yeah I bought new LED lights which I'm gonna splice in soon
@@RatchetWrenches thanks for the reply im about to install a kit on my car its an automatic though. Was watching your videos for pointers and motivation
How many miles did the engine have before the kit was put on?
Probably around 107,000 miles
Any updates on the turbo stang awsome. Content
We've been having shitty weather here so can't film much but we will have some videos coming soon!! It's doing well though
@@RatchetWrenches thanks for reply. I will keep eye
Does the Intercooler have any form of support brackets?
I believe On3 is supposed to send top and bottom support brackets but I was only sent bottom ones. We ended up making top support brackets ourselves and we didn't even use the bottom ones
Alright thank you. I’m installing the twin turbo kit in my Cobra and I’m waiting on the block to come back from a line hone, so I’ve been doing what I can while I wait for the motor to come back. And from what I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like their is any brackets, so I was like their is no way that the piping is what keeps it from moving
What was causing that oil leak?
Oil filter relocation system the o rings weren't seated properly
What It leaked oil everywhere from the JB Weld on the oil Pan. Lol
Nah surprisingly that held up. The on3 oil filter relocation kit was the leaking culprit
How much power can the transmission hold on a 2002 mustang gt?
I’ve seen people push over 500hp if driven a little conservatively…I’m sure it could handle more than that with a better clutch if driven correctly…
Really depends but I would assume around 500 give or take.
What did you build? looks alot like bolt on parts. Congrats on enjoying the project, but let's see some actual building/fab! Not what the new generations think building a car is, by placing an order for ready to fit kits... or in this case ready to make it fit because on3 has no QC. lol
Lol why you hating
@@RatchetWrenches just want to see building content, and some fab more so than bolting on a kit so many others have done before. plus, on3 just sucks tbh. CG fab has a better hot side, so many better turbos, intercoolers etc and with putting in fab time, you negate a bit of cost to get a MUCH nicer product.
@@jdllewellyn5802 As witnessed by their "sponsor" website being nonexistant anymore. Belly up it seems.
Stock internals??
Yep
I can’t find this kit online

SLS is our new sponsor he will help you get set up with the kit for your needs
U lost me with the jb weld fuked that up
Putting holly terminator on as we speak
I definitely wanna do that when I up the power in my car
put a built 4r70 in it and a converter let it eat
Definitely a solid option!
How many psi?
7.5
What catback is on the car
Borla Stingers
@RatchetWrenches I have mine out the bumper now. Im wanting to go full 3" cat back.
@taylorm8020 what's your reasoning to going full catback? You don't like the bumper exit?
@RatchetWrenches To loud when I'm trying to be discreet. I was worried about it sounding raspy with a cat back so I did bumper exit, but after hearing yours, it dosent sound bad at all. I'll either do custom or pony up and get the 3" magnaflow kit.
using on3 header gaskit is the worst idea you can do to your car they will leak
buy stock ones and install them
I've heard that but haven't had an issue yet. We used a good amount of copper rtv also
@@RatchetWrenches it will fail eventually when it do you will hear whining noise like a bad steering pump
