    Hands down this is the best yacht review channel. I love the fact that Capt Jack operates some of these beautiful machines and gives a review on it operations. The 50ft yacht size is a nice sweet spot for most.Thank you for sharing Capt Jack.

      I agree. Honestly don't see the point in boat reviews on channels where they hardly ever actually drive them. It's like reviewing a car while it's sitting on your driveway.

    This is a lovely boat and a great review as always, Prestige are upping their game here. My 50 footer of choice would be the Sasga Menorquin 54. Classic design, semi-displacement hull, 1200 mile range at 8 knots and it's CE Category A. All that for around a million euros.

    I was interested when you did the accommodation tour Jack as every Prestige I’ve been on has annoyingly squeaky floors.Glad to see on this one it was minimal.Would still prefer personally the Azimut 53 for the all round package

    What a lovely Lady of the Sea with a bit of umph. She well balanced in the turns or on the straight great movability. There's a smile in Jacks face as he moves her around while upstairs.
    Even downstairs the good news goes on around the helm apart from a couple of queries. After the review i got the impression that Prestige are upping their games in the decorations of the Saloon, cabins, sunbathing at the prow and gly bridge. Crew sounds as if is a bit small and cramped and an ok engine room. All in all she a nice package a Prestigeous boat.

    IMO, the've done a great job with the interior styling - sleek & modern without it being something that's going to look outdated in 2 years. Bonus points for those BA Logo handles, I liked them.

    Hands down, the Galeon 50 fly is MUCH better for not much more. I can't understand why only Galeon has fold down sides which just transforms any boat.

    • @MrArchie800
      @MrArchie800 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree!!!! Every time I watch a boat review for a 50 footer of this style I can't help comparing it to the Galeon 500 fly. The galeon 'seems' to offer so much more e.g. rotating cockpit seating, drop balconies, tender garage, flexible seating or sun bathing at the bow. Meh maybe we're missing something and the build quality isn't as good on the Galeon but I'm struggling to find something that will beat it in terms of space.

    • @vannevels6758
      @vannevels6758 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrArchie800 if Absolutes' fly series (and the navettas maybe) had fold down sides, they couldn't build enough of them. The only boat in the 50s with the most space and would rule that range if it had fold down sides, is the M48 cat. Now if the M48 had the class defining 2:1+ L:W ratio vs it's awkward looking 16 foot beam, IT would very likely rule the 40 to 50 foot cat class.

    I was wondering why the price was so low at the beginning. Got the answers throughout the video.
    Great yacht if you’re cool giving up a few (dozen) features and capabilities and a less well thought out boat overall than the ones costing a few hundred k more.

    50ft fly? The Galeon 500 fly can even have a tender garage and on the main deck more space
    And Absolutes 52 is a diferent dimension in terms of space

    • @MrArchie800
      @MrArchie800 ปีที่แล้ว

      and don't forget the rotating cockpit seats and the flexible bow seating. IMO I've not seen anything yet that can beat the Galeon 500 fly!

    Good look around Jack…….. with the Bimini stowed as shown, the boat is right on the limit of my eyes “top heavy” register….. I’m guessing with the Bimini up or a hard top, it would be way over 🙁
    I’m not keen on the galley across the aft, not that I have any inspired alternative, preferring the lounging space to flow from the cockpit into the cabin…. again, the cabins all looked good, but access was a bit compromised
    Plenty performance and looked entertaining from the “racing” helm on the roof…….. probably less welcome to any guests below……😅

    Why does it look like it’s coming straight from the nineties? Yacht design has moved to quite a bit the last 30 years. Or is this boat targeting a 80+ market? They should have tested the design earlier to see, if it resonates with buyer and rental market.

    Why are these throttle and joystick units of Volvo‘s IPS systems always completely made of plastic?
    A bit weird I think, because Volvo should know that these are used on luxury yachts (hard to define term admittedly, but a 50-footer of Prestige maybe deserves to be called a luxury yacht) and it looks often awkward when manufacturers noticeably have made efforts to make these dashboards look fine and then these plastic pins…

    I had to look it up but was very surprised to learn that Prestige boats are built in France!! How surprising!! I am NOT impressed. I think if you’re going to spend that sort of money, there is much better competition out there, especially in that size of boat. And better yet, it would be more preferable to own even a second-hand, larger boat from a more successful brand, in my humble opinion.

    The proportion don't feel right; The saloon feels like a 40 foot'er (the door in the middle doesn't make sense). Tthe lower windows seem overly thin (I lile the owner's suite in the bow).
