I like how Prince waited for Ms. Jones to call him over to solo....he waited...respected HER stage...then she said ''Come on Prince''!!! Then he very quickly did his thang! Amazing.
Prince didn't just perform with anyone.......that's just how good this bundle of energy Sharon was. So sad that they are both gone far too soon.

you can count on one hand the number of times that Prince came out onto the stage EARLY just to play along with the opening act... Sharon Jones UNDENIABLE powerful energy and soul and talent that was completely infectious and couldn't be ignored... forever grateful to the Dap Kings for exposing Sharon (and Charles Bradley) to the world

I was fortunate to see Prince in1983, 1996 and early in 20's. I have 32 of his CD's along with a few albums. His music has walked with me, many lonely nights or breezy summer days. He became the soundtrack of my life.
I found Sharon Jones while falling in love with Amy Winehouse, and I've never looked back. Sharon should've received more recognition from the US radio markets, black radio missed this train.
My life became easier, humming the music of Prince and Sharon Jones.

Til my dying day I will always love and respect Prince Rodgers Nelson. He was always so gracious. Even though he was the bigger star. It was always abt talent for him. I Sharon was like Prince shooting stars that gave fans true joy. I thank you both from bottom of my heart.

Wow, That was a fantastic performance. RIP Sharon Jones. Truly a phenomenal talent to be able to dance AND sing with so much intensity when so many younger performers would lip sync. Then there was Prince. Another phenomenal talent lost to us in this shitty 2016.
The best year of my life began with seeing Prince for the first time ever and now the worst year of my life Prince leaving........ all I can look forward to now is going home and seeing his beautiful face........ his eyes always melted me.

I saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings about half a doz times in Australia and they were the best funk/soul band I've ever seen without exception!

This woman was amazing and so glad I got to see her at the Sydney opera house not too long ago. I was so upset on her death xx such a great loss ❤️❤️❤️ and the the fabulous a Prince 🥲❤️❤️

Band is so tight.
They learned that tightness from the Amazing James Brown Band of the late 60's.......if you haven't heard it....Please check out James Brown Live at the Apollo 2 1968 (recorded in 1967) and you gotta listen to the whole show.....The James Brown band at that time..on the whole planet no one could touch!! The Funk and groovy Soul came from James Brown... period!!!....Then everybody else took that blueprint through the years. Even here in Ms. Jones concert they took horn parts and guitar parts and the bass line from James Brown's 1965 live version of '' Papa's Got a Brand New Bag''........now that I think about it the whole song is Papa's Bag. Hope you check out Apollo 2. Ms. Jones and the Dapps were amazing!
So very sad. One of the best concerts I've ever seen, such energy and what a voice. Would have loved to see her perform one more time. Sympathies to family and friends. What a bad year for music

She was SOOO amazing! I unfortunately had never even heard of Ms. Jones before her death. I watched this video to see Prince but 8 secs into video it was apparent that there would be no skipping. Couldn't take my eyes of her performance, start a high energy very entertaining lady! Wow! "I'm gonna whup!"

The saddest news just keep pouring, We lost great artists that, on passing, leave a huge breach that will not be easily bridged; The Purple one Prince, Leonard Cohen, Leon Russel, Gwen Ifill and now Sharon Jones. Each of them, unique in their own genre but with one common denominator, uniting people of all walks of life that looks for the talent and artisanship in informing and entertain with class. Enough to sent one into a depression episode, but by God, just watching performances like the one above makes you realize the life is too short to squander it moping and feeling sorry for oneself. Viva la Vida !
