When Invicta try to tone it down they come out with some nice things. This watch actually looks great and legit. The nh35 is a work horse movement. Great video.

Why not be the clone watch company if your in house designs suck. There plenty on neat vintage and classic watches to clone like a 1918 WW1 Trench watch a Hamilton Railroad wristwatch mid century dress watches. Avviation watches. A decent field watch etc. etc. Chrysler cloned the Bentley with the 300c and sold more cars than Bentley could dream of.
Owned mine for 2 weeks now, keeps great time and is very simple!! Invicta did right by this model, now it’s time for them to make a Newman style Daytona in the 1953 collection!!

I think you're the first review on this watch! I have one and it's amazing. A tasteful and well designed watch from Invicta. I've spent hours modding old Pro divers to look pretty much like this one; grinding off all the "Invicta" logos, changing the dial and hands to get rid of the bird's wings. And I only paid $650 for mine....;-)
Oh wow, did you grind the Invicta they carve into the side of the case off? I have heard you can do that but it seems drastic! I'm hoping Invicta does more watches like this.
@@JustWatches1 Not hard, just takes patience and and a fine file. If you're careful and have steady hands, you can use a Dremel.. The logo is etched, not engraved, so it's not very deep. The "Invicta" logo gets ground off the bracelet clasp, too. But on this new one, it's almost all done already (except the clasp) Search for "Modding Invicta" or similar phrases on the WatchUSeek forum.
Received my all black version (in a black box no less!) Absolutely beautiful, going to put it on a rubber strap, probably an Oysterflex copy. I'll try it on a black strap with red stitching ( has "automatic" in red on the dial) but I suspect it won't sit correctly on my wrist. Very accurate out of the box, -3 seconds per day. Great bezel action on mine zero backplay. I think I like it enough to pick up a stainless steel version too. I thought the lume was slightly better than that on my 9937. Nice piece despite being an Invicta, definitely one for the collection.

This is the first invicta I want to have, I have ordered one. I have a bb58, it’s awesome, and modeled after the LATE 50’s rolex/Tudor no crown guard subs. It’s really quite close. The earlier 1950’s no crown guard subs were only 36mm on diameter, even though they had 20mm lug to lug. I have several of the 50’s subs, and rarely wear them, because they are really valuable, and parts in the autowinding system subject to wear, and those parts haven’t been made for over 50 years.

Been saying this since this thing came out: That's one Invicta I'd buy in a heartbeat. Too bad it sold out as quickly as Helm's watches or Gnomon's 39mm Steinharts. And as far as I know they haven't produced any more yet. Sure: The design is "borrowed", but that's still one good looking watch and great value for money.
This is an homage to a '60s 5508 Submariner or a Tudor Blackbay, and it looks pretty good. I like Invicta watches when they stick to this size and type of watches, the super huge and oversized fad is now over but I think they have taken it way farther than it needed to be taken. Anyway, this one I may consider to acquire at some point when I get the chance. Nice vid!

I don’t think the big gaudy watches being sold by invicta is over! They are selling them like crazy in their website and such. I bought one of their bigger ones to see if I’d like it and although it’s not the size I prefer there was something primal about wearing it, it’s of great build quality and I may even wear it out somewhere!lol
Looks like the one off Tudor One Only Black Bay auctioned off in 2015 which is a homage to Rolex from 1953. This is a little smaller and is missing is the RED triangle at the bezel pip. The gold and cream Hands with black dial is very nice look.
Not gonna lie, that’s a great looking watch. If Invicta focused on releases like this instead of those ridiculously oversized goofy ass watches they sell on QVC, they could really take over and dominate that entry level market that Seiko seems to be leaving behind.
The entry level space is definitely going to start to open up as Seiko continues to price increase. I think Orient fills that space nicely, and Timex is now rolling out lots of automatic options. Invicta should take advantage of this, too!
Great question! While it is double the price, the Kamasu has a sapphire crystal, better bezel action, way better lume, and a nicer clasp on the bracelet than the Invicta. I think both are good value for money, one is just a better set of specifications (which is represented in the higher cost).

Looks like they finally got the memo. They dropped the multi tiered labeling. I counted on one of my 89__ prodivers and they say Invicta no less than 7 times. Now one say it 3...

For me the biggest turn-off to Invicta is the way they emblazon the brand on the side of the watch case. This watch doesn't have that! I would say that with this piece Invicta has decided to get into the mod game. There are plenty of nh35 dials that will fit this watch. I think I'm going to have to buy one of these! 👍

I got the Davosa GMT Quartz with is a cool homage to the Rolex GMT, and this might be the cool homage to the vintage Rolex Submariner i been looking for. Even the new Rolex watches are a little overkill.
Totally agree. I'm not in the market for a Rolex, but I hate the newer maxi-case. How do you like the Davosa, I see Long Island Watch features them in videos from time to time and I was curious about them?

But the domed mineral crystal, functioning smooth rotating GMT bezel, 100m water resistant smooth screwdown crown is nice. I got the one with the leather and just put it on blue and red NATO straps. But it comes on a cheap feeling jubliee bracelet that people seem to have mixed feelings about though.

Got to admit, a symmetrical watch is nice to wear and aesthetically pleasing. But, even a date and even a day on any watch is a luxury as well. $100 for a decent watch is nice too.
Nice watch, great style obviously a homage to the original Submariner (hence 1953 on the dial) I like some of Invicta's watches, and I don't hate on the brand because they make watches that aren't to my taste. I think it's the best looking watch in Invicta's current line up (I just ordered the all black version, also very nice) such a simple an elegant design and tbh the best looking of the homages to this early Submariner style, definitely an area at which Invicta excels. Invicta's lume sucks, that's my only criticism of their watches, I think they must've bought a job lot of the world's worst lume! Still, it's not something that's critical to me if I wanted a watch with good lume there are plenty to choose from but none have the style of this one many don't even offer hacking which is far more important to me. Even some of the luxury brands don't use very strong lume, but I agree the Invicta lume is some of the worst. I agree, it is silly to hate on Invicta, lots of people like the watches they make! @@JustWatches1 Exactly. For what you pay for an Invicta, you're getting a very decent watch. The NH-35A is a great movement, capable of very accurate time keeping and found in watches at twice or even triple the money of an Invicta. The bracelets on their £150 watches aren't the best but they're serviceable and last well enough. Same for their crystal, while it would be nice to have sapphire, I've not managed to scratch any of mine. Pay a little more and you can get a SW200 Swiss movement (ETA 2824 equivalent I believe) which is found in watches with very serious price tags, and a better case/bracelet with higher quality fit and finish. The 9937/0B wow you'd be daft not to buy one. The Ford GT 40 wasn't a Ferrari, but it showed Ferrari how it's done and I think Invicta have a few watches that manage the same trick. Not to mention the fact that they're propping up the automatic movement watch industry, how many folks are gaining an interest in watches and collecting because they received an Invicta for their birthday or Christmas gift? Credit where credits due.
Not available. I guess it came out as a really nice watch, so Invicta had to cancel the production. Well, to be fair, Invictas other Pro Divers are very good too.
If this is the new invicta I am disappointed because I like the other pro diver 40mm, much thinner and gives you that exact look of a submariner rolex.
Chris 399 for an old man version they are selling a lot of them to both old and young I’ve talked to them! I own both love the original pro diver but I think the 1953 is invictas best homage watch but I’ll continue to wear both! I’m even considering getting a black and stainless one and putting it on a NATO too!
Just Watches yeah it especially makes me sick when people say you must be poor if you can’t own a Rolex! I’ll be honest if I were rich I may not even buy a Rolex, I think the first watch I’d buy would be a seiko GS!
Yes; Invicta are getting the message. Getting rid of the blingy look , the knock-off Longines logo, the 'Invicta' engraved on the side are all welcome developments. Now all they have to do is get rid of the Invicta name on the dial. Even my 24 y.o. son, who doesn't wear a watch and has no interest in them knows that the brand is a no-no. Many companies that have a dodgy reputation have remodelled themselves by introducing lines that have a different name. Ok. Watch geeks will know it's made by Invicta, but that will decline if they continue to show better taste. At the moment they are in the unenviable position of being mocked by people who know nothing about watches! Not good.
That is actually a really good idea. Reminds me of when Comcast changed their internet service to Xfinity to drop the negative connotation with their brand.

Anything that brings the public's further attention to the Glycine/Invicta connection could have bad repercussions for Glycines' brand status and drag it down rather than raise Invicta's. I would think that you could keep the Invicta name for the really hideous stuff and create a new brand for the more respectable efforts that they seem to be aiming for. At the end of the day there are Invicta fans, but for everyone else the name is cringe worthy.

Problem is, they only do it with the pro diver. Everything else they come out with is 47 plus mm. Mainly 52 plus mm

Right now, as far as I know, it is just this one. We will have to see if they build this out into a line.

@@JustWatches1 Exactly. For what you pay for an Invicta, you're getting a very decent watch. The NH-35A is a great movement, capable of very accurate time keeping and found in watches at twice or even triple the money of an Invicta. The bracelets on their £150 watches aren't the best but they're serviceable and last well enough. Same for their crystal, while it would be nice to have sapphire, I've not managed to scratch any of mine. Pay a little more and you can get a SW200 Swiss movement (ETA 2824 equivalent I believe) which is found in watches with very serious price tags, and a better case/bracelet with higher quality fit and finish. The 9937/0B wow you'd be daft not to buy one. The Ford GT 40 wasn't a Ferrari, but it showed Ferrari how it's done and I think Invicta have a few watches that manage the same trick. Not to mention the fact that they're propping up the automatic movement watch industry, how many folks are gaining an interest in watches and collecting because they received an Invicta for their birthday or Christmas gift? Credit where credits due.
And here I am again about to fall for Invicta's teasing flirts. 😍

Not available. I guess it came out as a really nice watch, so Invicta had to cancel the production. Well, to be fair, Invictas other Pro Divers are very good too.

If this is the new invicta I am disappointed because I like the other pro diver 40mm, much thinner and gives you that exact look of a submariner rolex.
I don't think they will ever stop making the original pro diver - this one is just targeting a different part of the market :)

Chris 399 for an old man version they are selling a lot of them to both old and young I’ve talked to them! I own both love the original pro diver but I think the 1953 is invictas best homage watch but I’ll continue to wear both! I’m even considering getting a black and stainless one and putting it on a NATO too!

Yes; Invicta are getting the message. Getting rid of the blingy look , the knock-off Longines logo, the 'Invicta' engraved on the side are all welcome developments. Now all they have to do is get rid of the Invicta name on the dial.
Even my 24 y.o. son, who doesn't wear a watch and has no interest in them knows that the brand is a no-no.
Many companies that have a dodgy reputation have remodelled themselves by introducing lines that have a different name. Ok. Watch geeks will know it's made by Invicta, but that will decline if they continue to show better taste. At the moment they are in the unenviable position of being mocked by people who know nothing about watches! Not good.
That is actually a really good idea. Reminds me of when Comcast changed their internet service to Xfinity to drop the negative connotation with their brand.
They bought Glycine. There's no need to invent a new brand, just move all their watches over to Glycine.

Haha! I think that's the last thing they should do. Anything that brings the public's further attention to the Glycine/Invicta connection could have bad repercussions for Glycines' brand status and drag it down rather
than raise Invicta's.
I would think that you could keep the
Invicta name for the really hideous stuff and create a new brand for the
more respectable efforts that they seem to be aiming for.
At the end of the day there are Invicta fans, but for everyone else the name is cringe worthy.
