To give a more contextual gut punch about Paz and Venom, look back at the retcon which you've realized was all (the retcon) in Venom's head. ALL of that was his very personal guilt. You touched on the outer layer of it. He was part of MSF and bonded very much with Paz like the others. BUT even deeper than that, Venom was the medic. HE was the one that examined Paz not Big Boss. He had the bigger guilt with her because he felt if only he found that 2nd bomb, a lot of what happened wouldn't have happened. The retcon was Venom's coping mechanism most of all.
This leads into the original MG&MG2. Big Boss used Venom to fight using his name, pushing his name forward and his goals on that end. Leaving Venom with the hard work while Big Boss influenced politics, and worked his end there. He used Venom as a pawn, to achieve his goals and leave himself without the burden of war. This opened up the avenue Big Boss took, to pursue different means without distractions. Venom spent the entire rest of his life fighting till he died. @@reyony

When Venom broke the mirror, you can see the logo on the door changed from Diamond Dogs insignia to Outer Heaven, some fans says that the time has jumped to 1995 at Outer Heaven base and Venom went to fight Solid Snake.

Not just the logo. The tape recorder becomes an MSX, the console Metal Gear was released on. The sound is (I think) from the original Metal Gear, and the tape is labeled "Operation Intrude N313", which is what Snake's mission is named in MG1.
The more and more i rewatch the ending dialogue the more i honestly believe this is one of the greatest endings in video game franchise history "Now do you remember? Who you are? What you were meant to do? I cheated death, thanks to you(The fans). And thanks to you I’ve left my mark(MGS Franchise). You have too - you’ve written your own history. You’re your own man. I’m Big Boss, and you are too… No… He’s the two of us. Together. Where we are today? We built it. This story - this “legend” - it’s ours. We can change the world - and with it, the future. I am you, and you are me. Carry that with you, wherever you go. Thank you… my friend. From here on out, you’re Big Boss." It was Kojima breaking the 4th wall break talking to you the player.....as he exits konami......it was his mic drop moment in the most META way possible....its very powerful if you as the player created yourself at the beginning of the game makes it hit more......This has never been done in gaming history and likely wont be done again.....
It would be absolutely impossible to make even one game into a single movie without it ending up being confusing and unsatisfying, maybe except the original Metal Gear, since it didn't have that much of a story. If anything they'd have to make it into a miniseries.

Since some time's passed, I think I can reveal to you about the theme of Moby Dick in the game. Now I don't know if either of you've read it but knowing about the book actually kind of spoils the "truth" behind MGSV at the very beginning of the game. Moby Dick is a story about a captain of a ship with the thirst for revenge against a great white whale. The captain's name is Ahab and the entire story revolves around him. He's the central protagonist. HOWEVER, the entire story is told from the perspective of a shipmate named Ishmael. We were made to believe that Venom Snake was Big Boss and so was he. Big Boss called himself Ishmael and called you (Venom Snake) Ahab. Plus Pequod was the name of Ahab's ship in the story.

I've enjoyed watching you guys play all of the MGS games and it's been an awesome journey. Look forward to the wrap up MGS stream upload :) MGS V GZ and Phantom Pain is one of my fav games. Btw it goes to show how strong Venom Snake (Phantom Big Boss) really was - a medic who was loyal to Big Boss till the very end basically giving up his life to protect him during the heli explosion in GZ, only to be used again as a shield for Big Boss to go and create his new nation. While the medic who has now lost his identity and living a lie basically having to be a decoy for the real Big Boss. He stopped Skull Face and Sahelanthropus, had to live through the guilt of not saving Paz, went through the parasite attack and had to kill his own men to stop the spread of the disease, sparing Huey instead of killing him and same with Quiet. He definitely has a heart compared to Big Boss who is used his own medic to be his meat shield only to later die by the hands of Solid Snake who was sent by Big Boss. My respect for Venom is way higher than Big Boss. But damn, what a story Kojima and the team created. Thanks guys for playing these games! :D

There is a reason as to why John chose David over Eli, even though both of them wanted him dead. David's will and conviction reminded Big Boss of his own mentor, so he sent to him Outer Heaven to kill Venom Snake, under the watchful eye of his most trusted lieutenant Frank Jaeger in '95. Four years later in Zanzibar Land under the guise of being his enemy, Gray Fox then guided David into facing down his old man, in the hopes that both of them could find peace. Sadly Zero didn't want to let either of them go, especially Big Boss.

And of course Ocelot ironically saw Big Boss as an older brother, so even he was as willing to do his part in helping David, again like Frank under the guise of being his enemy.
Venon Snake is the antagonist of the first Metal Gear, a thing that was never explained because it just told that the big boss of the first game was just a fake big boss, so this game is a background of this forgoten antagonist of the fist metal gear

That was actually the real outer heaven, outer heaven in Africa(technically on sea near Africa) is venom snakes outer heaven to hide the real one in Zanzibarland. Ending of mgsv ocelot told kaz big boss building the true outerheaven somewhere else but the location was never revealed. Also mgsv plot made the story much worse cause it left a lot of questions.
Ocelot: If the time you ever go back to Cipher... Me: I knew Kaz said he was "using" Cipher in Peace Walker, but what Ocelot just said....gives Huey's accusation about Kaz working with Cipher 9 years ago makes sense. Kaz was originally part of Cipher as well. Zadornov constantly escaping had to have more Cipher insiders than just Paz.

He even referred to Zero as my dear Zero. Now that might've been mocking, not sure but even then that shows a closer relationship than what Kaz said he was with Cipher...
you know this whole series has partially become some grown ups version of a high school flick movie . I mean we got a bunch of guys fighting over what one girl wants . Now the boss is like this popular girl and she's got these crazy admirers , Zero can be seen as that rich kid , big boss can be seen as the football jock and skull face is that kid who gets constantly bullied in the class and these guys they all argue and fight over the popular girl .
I might be a little bit late, but if anything you should check out the Last Day of Outer Heaven. It's the Closest thing that we will ever get to an HD Conclusion of Metal Gear 1.
😊🖒❤❤ now,somethings to know: 1 : i was really disappointed at first by the twist ending cuz i wanted to play as big boss, then after hearing the tapes and all, i realized how awesome it was the final speech infront of the mirror thats actually a 4th wall breaking moment where kojima is thanking us the players, thats his final gift to us, he made us snake! 2: why did big boss let venom take his place? it wasnt his idea !,( when ya hear the tapes you gonna feel the game complete, it has everything) 3: the paz hidden cutscene, gather some photos and talk to her to reveal the final scene! 4 : mission intrude is the mission of the first metal gear game, when venom breaks the mirror, the logo changes from diamond dogs to outer heaven, meaning venom is about to face solid snake , and that was the place where he died( explaining a 30 yo plot hole on how did big boss survive, he didnt! it was venom that died at his place) there is a fan made video about it im gonna post the link below) 5: there is a 2 secret cutscenes first : is mission 51 , unreleased mission second: is a hidden video which triggers only if us players manage to get rid of all our nuclear bombs, kojima wanted to see if us players can work together, to achieve peace! it was triggered 3 times , non of them been legaly done tho, konami stated it was hacking and all, we r still waiting for peace day !✌ ____ hope all of this makes yar experience even better, i know it made mine, ya should make video where ya hear the tapes and watch those videos, im sure ya gonna like em! ___it remains my favorite game of all time, a true masterpiece!😊❤✌ thank you again for the whole thing, yar lovely ❤✌

Loved seeing y'alls reaction to this game. I had to laugh when Anthony said "Chico," and Audrey instantly said "No no no." I laugh because he got it. Ishmael is Ahab. "I am you and you are me." Ishmael is the Medic, and Venom is Chico. The scenes are memories, and in Chico's own memories, he has Medic standing in for himself. Because, as Ishmael said, "I am you, and you are me." If you want to, there is a very deep dive into uncovering the layers of Truth here. If you want to know how V bridges the gap from 1975 all the way to 2005, I've been doing a lot of videos going over it all. (It's on my other channel, @DreamingWeaver.) The crazy part--Chico *and* Medic are both a younger and older version of Gray Fox. You two are pretty sharp, and I think you might see where I'm coming from. Hope you're doing well.

YAY!!! You both finished MGS 1-V 😁👍Congrats to the both of you!!! I have to say that Kaz is STILL my least favorite character in the series. He's the reason why the Real Big Boss, had to let him go. One of the secret tapes in Peace Walker, he contacted "Cipher/Zero". He knew exactly who Paz & Zadornov really were & hid the truth from Big Boss, & he technically has no right to tell Big Boss to go to hell. In fact, Kaz sent "himself" to hell, so he deserved the pain & misery after all he's done to Big Boss.

YAY!!! You both finished MGS 1-V 😁👍Congrats to the both of you!!! I have to say that Kaz is STILL my least favorite character in the series. He's the reason why the Real Big Boss, had to let him go. One of the secret tapes in Peace Walker, he contacted "Cipher/Zero". He knew exactly who Paz & Zadornov really were & hid the truth from Big Boss, & he technically has no right to tell Big Boss to go to hell. In fact, Kaz sent "himself" to hell, so he deserved the pain & misery after all he's done to Big Boss.
