What I said about the ending, that's a ridiculously cut down version. I had to cut the full point I was trying to make for the sake of last minute render problems... so I may as well do it here as thanks for your support. Big Boss established "Outer Heaven" in PW's final post-credits convo. Given Venom was still with MSF in GZ and regarded as their best man second only to Big Boss, that would mean he's on-board with the idea - then to be given the task of being 1/2 of "Big Boss", the legend, how could he say no? But his destiny is already written, Venom punching the mirror is the moment he succumbs, no longer an Avatar we control and a fully realized double of the warlusting Big Boss of the MSX-era. As for Venom behind the mirror, that's us the player in the same position as Raiden at the end of MGS2... with the added bonus of the title of "Big Boss" under our belt; "Everything you felt, thought about during this mission is yours and what you decide to do with them is your choice... Choose your own legacy, it's for you to decide. It's up to you."
I'm surprised how often I get comments saying exactly this. It was kinda known prior to the game's release as just something you'd able to do, but there is at least one way of knowing that's a thing in-game - it's a Mission Task in Episode 35.
@@ZakRas i've completed the game once and, well, missed somethings, like gunsmith. And this "Trick" with fulton is so awesome to learn. I'll use it, when i'll play MGS V again. Thank you for the tip! XD
A definite missed opportunity for this game is making the MG Boss characters like Shotmaker and Dirty Duck possible soldiers for you to find and recruit.
11:35 this is actually one of my favorite missions because that's exactly how i play it and i play the entire rest of the game as stealthily and non-lethally as possible so an excuse to genuinely just go ham with a tank on like 20 other tanks is my favorite thing
I'm sure it's been pointed out in numerous videos, but I gotta say it here. Having the weapons in this game be ersatzed facsimiles of real guns in this game makes sense when you, Venom Snake, are an ersatzed facsimile of Big Boss.
all this time, and I did NOT made the connection that the tx-55 and in a lesser way, the D, are metal gear made by just taking the walker gear, boosting it up to Zeke size, and having the difference in space being used to hold the nuke
@@themanofconstantsorrowelia1929 So the guy missing an arm with shrapnel in his skull at the age of 70 taking 4 rockets to the face couldn't take down snake but boss getting slammed by a can of deodorant goes over your head ? Boss and venom also never fought (cause the boss knew he would get his ass clapped by the nuclear man)
This actually looks like such an awesome and fun challenge. This looks like the way the game was made to be played and better than the intended way. Kojima made a lot of mistakes with this game, and two of the biggest have to be that he made an action game, not a stealth game, yet pushes you to play it stealthily anyway, and second, the fact that this was supposed to be the game of how Big Boss became a villain, but the game punishes you for playing as the villain and killing people. And while not as major (since this is apart of the whole "MGS5 is an action game, not a stealth game" issue), MGS5 throwing out the camo system because of the annoying fact that you can no longer change camos during the missions simply, he made the camo system just not matter. MGS3's camo system was great, but wasn't fluid/quick enough, which was the whole reason why Octo Camo in MGS4 was created, to be that but better, yet MGS5 went the opposite direction and just made it so much of a hassle that you basically just stick to one suit the whole game and never notice a difference.
Good work on the video, I wouldn't really call this a challenge. You can get S rank on all missions without ever using a tank, rocket launcher, assault rifle, submachine gun or mines.
Checking the Records screen since Mission Results only go up to 999 hours - it's actually just over 2000 hours. Even then, 83 days is quite sane for a 3296 day old save file. As for CV - if I ever went into Human Resources, I probably could given the amount of layers upon layers of staff shuffling I've done to boost their unit levels to unlock the Grade 11 stuff.
in mission 28 you can run by the skulls or just go down the river bed to the crack in the wall and climb up and by pass them then after you have to get CT out you can avoid them pretty easy on the way to the LZ
Absolutely. I've seen many people say going along the river itself is their route, but normally I opt for a comfy little route under a canopy the trees create. But given these are the only Skull Snipers (not including Quiet), combined with not having a sniper rifle as part of the challenge - I couldn't pass up eliminating them.
@@ZakRasHow is it not out yet when it's already September 2024? No, seriously. Are you still recording footage for it? Did you step away from it for a while? Is it being edited?
@@MakusinMeringue It was planned since mid/late-2022 for a specific anniversary later this year. But I couldn't start recording that challenge until I'd unlocked a certain Grade 11 weapon which I got around early/mid 2023. Big Boss established "Outer Heaven" in PW's final post-credits convo. Given Venom was still with MSF in GZ and regarded as their best man second only to Big Boss, that would mean he's on-board with the idea - then to be given the task of being 1/2 of "Big Boss", the legend, how could he say no? But his destiny is already written, Venom punching the mirror is the moment he succumbs, no longer an Avatar we control and a fully realized double of the warlusting Big Boss of the MSX-era. As for Venom behind the mirror, that's us the player in the same position as Raiden at the end of MGS2... with the added bonus of the title of "Big Boss" under our belt;
"Everything you felt, thought about during this mission is yours and what you decide to do with them is your choice... Choose your own legacy, it's for you to decide. It's up to you."
Never thought about it that way, but between all the crazy theories, this one speaks to me the most
This was great man. Must have been a power of work! The editing is excellent. MGSV really is, maybe, probably, the best game ever… alongside BotW
How you did Occupation Forces is wild!!!
I love that you turned Ep 22 into a reverse GZ, I do wish as either a side op or Chap 2 main op you could attack their base.
Have we all become invisible

You can Eva yourself, by standing on top of FUlton RESOURSE CONTAINER!? DAMN IT!
XD
honestly this playthrough seems pretty fun and you're getting a lot of codenames done too
23:25 lmao Mad vid!!
Liked and subbed!
A definite missed opportunity for this game is making the MG Boss characters like Shotmaker and Dirty Duck possible soldiers for you to find and recruit.
"A single assault rifle won't be enough to take out 4 skulls" *shoulders grom rocket launcher*
Yo this was fucking awesome, earned a like and sub

I never shot skull face, only kaz did im my playthrough, really made me feel that my venoms priorities are above revenge. Unlike kaz.
11:35 this is actually one of my favorite missions because that's exactly how i play it and i play the entire rest of the game as stealthily and non-lethally as possible so an excuse to genuinely just go ham with a tank on like 20 other tanks is my favorite thing
Watching this not only cause it's cool but cause I'm picking up skills I ain't even know about so when I go back imma be a better Boss.
Really? What's been the most useful/surprising so far?
you've definitely gained a sub! great video fs
@@manuluk9o7 Thank you.
There'll likely be some of my old formats for GTA over September/October - but November is when I'm coming back to MGSV.
@@ZakRas aighty sounds good! keep up the good work.
I look forward to the Zanzibar Land challenge. You could probably use Raiden as Running Man
Shh... such a run is on the cards, but not fully designed for me to be able to tease it just yet.
This was amazing dude, keeping the cutscenes and the story was a beautiful touch. Made a 1 hour video felt like 20 minutes
Now complimenting my ability to pace a video of this length, THAT's a feather in my cap.
Thank you.
And you don’t hear a word.

Super impressive gameplay, and some great editing video pacing.
Very perfect and well scripted video 👑
I'm sure it's been pointed out in numerous videos, but I gotta say it here.
Having the weapons in this game be ersatzed facsimiles of real guns in this game makes sense when you, Venom Snake, are an ersatzed facsimile of Big Boss.
all this time, and I did NOT made the connection that the tx-55 and in a lesser way, the D, are metal gear made by just taking the walker gear, boosting it up to Zeke size, and having the difference in space being used to hold the nuke
Very good challenge! I love this game so much, i 100% it twice!
16:20 I didn't know you could fast travel, that saves so much time!
Heres a subscription hoping for more mgs5 content😊
Thank you, and yes... there'll be more in November.
GOD TEIR EDITING HOLY MOLY
love mgs5, also this video slaps, great work! really love the creativity on display here
I cannot belive I just watched you steath with a tank
Solid work boss
man, you are a beast, awesome video
You ain't seen nothing yet.
Not yet.
As someone who has never played, or watched anything from or related to Metal Gear, I am very confused and very interested in these games now.
You're going down one of the best rabbit holes there is out there. Good luck.
Don't care what anyone says, Venom is better than Big Boss.
He's literally not even a character. You people are better at deluding yourselves than the patriots.
@@noway6633 >Not even a character

ok bud sure.

Big boss for filled his mission in Outer Heaven just like the Old Boss. 😉
Great editing man! Thanks or this
Another scot that loves MGS? YASSS
V has come to
Why the hell you have so little subs? This is good stuff.
Really great video! I enjoyed it with my breakfast.
Good work on the video, I wouldn't really call this a challenge. You can get S rank on all missions without ever using a tank, rocket launcher, assault rifle, submachine gun or mines.
It definitely leans more towards "fun run" than "challenge", I'll admit. It's a very flexible list of permitted items than others I've done.
I love this.
This game is absolutely masterpiece
You’re pretty good
I thought he said "he carries on his legend, his memes" and I had to immediately rewind it
You heard right.
you're pretty good
32:21 you can also shoot the tires with bullets
I might just play this again
You're Pretty Good
I'm sorry but 609 HOURS PLAYTIME!? My brother in Christ how does one enjoy a game so much. Surely you can put this in your CV
Checking the Records screen since Mission Results only go up to 999 hours - it's actually just over 2000 hours.
Even then, 83 days is quite sane for a 3296 day old save file. As for CV - if I ever went into Human Resources, I probably could given the amount of layers upon layers of staff shuffling I've done to boost their unit levels to unlock the Grade 11 stuff.
ah yes, the phantom peen
13:10 LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS AFTER ####!
What a crazy coincidence! I am currently playing this right now.
As a MGSV veteran
I completed all trophies on steam
And got all items

I'm afraid it has been, 9 years 😢
well looks like all tis time im been playing the canon total stealth version of tis (basicly only the default items but upgraded a bit
My favorite scotish guy after the one in wolfenstein
Pretty good
Cool little scottish accent, like
in mission 28 you can run by the skulls or just go down the river bed to the crack in the wall and climb up and by pass them then after you have to get CT out you can avoid them pretty easy on the way to the LZ
Absolutely. I've seen many people say going along the river itself is their route, but normally I opt for a comfy little route under a canopy the trees create.
But given these are the only Skull Snipers (not including Quiet), combined with not having a sniper rifle as part of the challenge - I couldn't pass up eliminating them.
Can you beat MGSV with only buddies?
@@shortsmiddleton D-Walker would be pretty flexible for that, especially given the Fulton Launcher.
@ZakRas Next to Pequod, he could technically be considered the fourth buddy in this game.
@@shortsmiddletonthat's true
I’d say yeah between d walker being a one machine army, and quiet being a pro sniper and dd can stun and kill

@@ZakRasHow is it not out yet when it's already September 2024? No, seriously. Are you still recording footage for it? Did you step away from it for a while? Is it being edited?
@@MakusinMeringue It was planned since mid/late-2022 for a specific anniversary later this year. But I couldn't start recording that challenge until I'd unlocked a certain Grade 11 weapon which I got around early/mid 2023.
When I put out that trailer I was only 1/3 or 1/2 way through the challenge... and I had no idea how I was gonna format its presentation at the time. This video, aside from having already planned to do an "Outer Heaven"/Metal Gear 1 challenge for the 9th anniversary anyway, was practice for that.
