Love to see these two valves getting some love again.
I'm sure they came make 400 n/a unfortunately after that it costs alot of money , beautiful cars tho . I love me 2005 gt , the 3 v is awesome
Get that Dorman manifold off there and re-dyno post the results. My car lost a full 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile after I swapped the factory PI unit to a Dorman after it cracked. Quickly swapped back to the FRPP unit and it was noticeable difference.
A friend put a Dorman on a 03 CrownVic police car and it was a lot weaker.
Mine lost 25hp on the dyno. The dorman is a non pi intake that they put pi ports on just to make it fit the pi style heads. The ports are super tiny
The old dorman sucked..the new revised one is basically a plastic edelbrock.. my friend took the revised dorman off his crown vic and put on a ford pi and only gained 2 hp and 4 ftlbs.. BUT every car is different.. and different days will yield different results.
The car I'm rebuilding had a dorman on it, I bought the FRPP intake too. Side by side the size difference is amazing.
That dorman is showing its true colors.

Sounds about right for stock. I ended up getting 485rwhp on my 2003 GT with a blower, cams and other supporting mods. Had a blast with that car.
With the stock 2V form factor or did you swap the motor?

that dorman intake is killing its breathing for sure.. swap an FRPP on it and do a back to back in a future video.. I'm sure its gotta be worth 5-8 hp easy based on what I've seen in runner length.. probably more in torque.. and with so many people loving to rag on the 2V engines, this car as is made 10rwhp more than the 89 GT you did a video on (albeit less torque) and more power than the 93 Cobra that you also did a video on.. these 2V engines are good performers and reliable.. yeah it would be nice if they had another 100hp but in their day they were good performers often dropping into the high 13s and low 14s when the 94-98 cars spent most of their lives in the 15s..
they are just overall, not good performing engines, especially pre 99'.
I would assume a car rated at 260 crank HP would dyno more than one rated at 225, and the same goes for a car rated at 235hp, i'd also assume a car rated at 260 crank HP, with off road exhaust, would make more than both those fox cars, lmao.
@@ryanjamieson8779 Right.. it has more power.. that's my point.. yes the non PI engines were dogs.. but...they were for the most part on par with the 94-95 cars.. the 99-04 PI 2Vs stock vs stock will show a 5L its taillights... and yet you just said that overall they aren't good performing. I'm not trying to get into a pissing match by any means.. but the 2V mustang is a strong performer when compared to the 5L cars.. they certainly don't take modification nor do they have the aftermarket support of the 5L but they aren't the some people make them out to be. I think the Coyote spoiled us.

I don't know what it is but these things sound like they have about 100 extra cubic inches even in stock condition. They may not be the fastest cars on the road but they sure sound good!

I guessed 230 and 270. Was almost spot on....of course that's from owning an 01 and 04 gt, and they both dynoed similar results. The new edge is my favorite. First car was a 2000 v6 and also had an 03 mineral grey cobra....so 4 new edges total for me

Throw away that Dorman intake, put on a good tune and it'd make probably 255-260 at the wheels. With 4.10 gears in the back that would be a fast little GT. You'd hurt some feelings at red lights
It's the very reason that the Drop Top is the most valued of the New Edge line = You can out look them if you can not out run them .

Probably about the same. Although the 4.6 “feels” faster because of torque.
11-14 3.7 I would bet they put around 250-260 down.
I own this exact car now. Its not in the best shape unfortunately. Who ever owned it after this video didnt take care of it.But it will be back on the road soon i hope.
Wow! No kidding? Well, looks like after this video was shot they decided to kick the car down the road literally! The parts are out there and still available to return these things into stock form. However, most folks do not do that. I have a 2003 GT red fire, premium coupe. The lift support struts went out in the trunk finally and the damn thing came down on my head one day when I was, pulling a case of beer out of the trunk. Went to get the original OEM lift support struts from the dealer and each side cost 120 bucks. I nearly had a heart attack but, after some friendly negotiation, the guy behind the parts counter shaved about 30 bucks off. Go figure!

I agree 2v love would be nice especially since I know on your site there are alot of performance parts that supposedly give hp and tq gains. I would love like a customer like dyno type deal. Like I myself have always shown and inserted my car in every which way to help other new edge people to show what works and what doesn't. I would love to give my car up for a dyno run to LMR because I have almost every mod from then except my built engine and trans. I purchased my turbo kit from LMR but ordered a bigger turbo thru on3. Anyways love what yall doing

Not fast but extremely fun. My s550 is fast but the 2003 gt is fun car to drive.. especially the 5 speed

302hobronco The 5.0 makes less peak power but it does rev more and has a more consistent HP and torque curve. That’s why some prefer the old school 5.0

This is only like 20ish hp and 10ish ftlbs of torque more than the beat up 180k miles comp orange 04 mustang. Let's get the new intake on this one and re dyno.

think the black V6 type side scoops look pretty good..needs some clear lens fog lights im waiting for delivery just ordered some from LMR!

@@angelgjr1999 mines stock but with a few mods and if you're a daredevil you can get around 500whp/600tq outta the stock block. I used to have mine at 450whp but put everything back to stock when it hit 100k miles.
Interesting, my 03 stock gt pulled 228 and 280 tq.
But not on THIS dyno....
how is that interesting? add an off road pipe, catback, and CAI, and you're literally at this same exact power level.

You can do whatever you want to on a chassis dyno. The purpose of a chassis dyno is to serve as a tuning tool. -Landan

Douglas - Do your best to track down either a brand new Ford intake or a good used one. The new ones are getting harder to find. Hopefully, we'll have some more in stock in the future. -Landan

And exhaust and 93 tune with 172k on it made about same on a mustang dyno.

Hey man put some gears in it and under drive pullys. Those mods made the biggest difference. Mine probably pushes a proper 260 hp to the wheels.

I’m actually overhauling the engine this winter, cams, heads, pretty much any Na bolt on you can do to it. No forced induction. Me and my son are going to do it. Then have the car retuned. First time doing this to my mustang never really got to involved with it. Guess I’ll learn lolol
@@FoDaddy They move the torque band to the low end for hole shots with a much faster rpm range as the 3: 27's where made to dog the engine down = Law Suits = and with a tune on the AOD = 2nd gear can shift at 8000 rpms with 4 : 10's
Can you run the factory tune when you bump the compression like that??
Computer probably compensating for that, since they said the AF ratio dipped into the low 12s on their run. Sounds like it runs rich as a result. Run a proper tune on 93 and it would likely pick up 5-10 horsepower easily.
