Sure has! I've noticed since working for an FFL, the Taurus line has improved a great deal over the last 6-7 years. Before they were a great paper weight, but seeing how the G series has been a huge game changer, I'm excited to start getting these Gx4 carry pistols in which I have no doubt will be selling like hot cakes, lol.

The PT111 is the gun that turned everything around for Taurus. I carried mine for 2 years, now it’s in my home defense rotation. I’m carrying the standard GX4 now and I love it too. The PT111 is one of the best pistols ever made. Period !
I feel like Taurus and Springfield missed the mark with the GX4 carry and the Hellcat pro. The slide length is the critical dimension for me when I carry iwb appendix. I’m 5’8” and a longer slide makes it uncomfortable when sitting or squatting. A GX4 slide on a GX4 carry frame or a Hellcat slide on a Hellcat Pro frame would make more sense to me.
Unfortunately one pistol can't do it all for everybody. However if there is enough demand, I'm sure they'll offer a model like that, that's what Glock does, but in time it becomes a pita to keep up with all the variances in all the models. Sounds like a Shield plus or the SIG Macro might be a good option for ya if you want more ammo capacity while maintaining a shorter barrel/slide length.

I'm a little late to the party but I like the Taurus pistols and this one seems like another good one. I already own two (G3 and TX22) and they've been great. If you're on a limited budget the Taurus pistols are a great way to go.

I know Taurus catches a lot of heat from some haters, but I've always liked my Taurus guns. Never had an issue with any of them. Now if they'd only make a 10mm version, that would be awesome.
It's definitely bad for impulsive buyers, but the good thing here is, for those who have patience and at least have something that works, innovations can be taken advantage of when necessary. I've carried a standard M&P 9mm for over 7 years and my M&P 2.0 9mm (fullsize 5" barrel) for the last 3 years. A slimmer more streamlined carry option was always in the back of my mind and I always like the P365 and the Taurus G series pistols, but only the macro really made an impression on me, until now with this new GX4 carry option from Taurus. When used to a full sized pistol, smaller ones only become easier to conceal yet ones that are more like a compact are still plenty shootable and not so snappy, but also has enough barrel length without depending on +P ammo for more reliable terminal performance from various HP ammunition, all while being easier to conceal and a little more comfortable to carry everyday.
I have the original gx4 and like it a lot. For me the new model is nice but not a significant improvement. More of a marketing effort. 11 round original is fine with me and I see little point for a red dot for edc. Interesting vid.
I carry my gx4 with the 13rd mags. I wonder if th 15rd carry mags will work on the og gx4. I agree with. I'll wait till they make gx4 xl with 15rd mags

Around 1300 bucks in Brazil (cash) even if maker (Taurus) is the biggest player here. And that IF you get approval to buy one 'cause since some months 9 mil is a "restricted caliber" to civilians. Only way to get one, now, is to be a 'certified shot competitor/athlete', and Brazilian army must approve you in the process. God almighty, how a 2nd amendment is a bless to you all there in USA - please don't lose it to "limp" brain jerks playing as pacifist representatives.
No off-brand optics on carry guns (or any gun I may stake my life on). I demand something with established reliability, but I don't like spending more than I have to for tools, so Holosun 407k give the reliability I trust while not breaking the bank.
Whoa, I like it. Great review, ty. I like Taurus products, but still can't warm to polymer frames. This GX4 is a great looking pistol, however. Love that limp-wrist test STILL (work it Taurus!)!
Just need to try one out for a while. Polymer frame pistols are very reliable and I have yet to see a decent one that's not a HI-Point fail or break because it's polymer. Polymer receivers on rifles imo are a whole different story, but for pistols, I would only consider a metal frame if I want the added weight like for competition or something.
The last few years TAURUS has really been on top of there game. I own 2 TAURUS revolvers and the TAURUS G3 fullsize 9MM pistol all run flawlessly great guns.
I hope this one makes it to California, I wouldn't mind owning it. We have been getting some new handguns added to our roster lately. Nothing brand new, but new to the state like the M&P 2.0 and Sig P320
I've been carrying the basic original GX4 for about a year now and haven't have a bit of trouble...even did the limp wrist test with 100 rounds and not a single jam.
Sir, good review. However, my experience with the GX4 was terrible. Many issues. Sent back to Taurus four times and still performed terribly. I do, however have a G3c which has been flawless with over 2k rounds through it. Be safe!
Have it along with the other GX4 versions! Interesting fact ! The magazines for the Carry the 15 round ones will fit and work in the smaller guns ! Instant capacity increases for my other guns ! Thanks Taurus!

I like Taurus handguns and have for several decades but I recently retired my G2C to the safe and reverted to my "Slick Willy Era" Smith DAO "Compact" in .40S&W. I enjoy your videos but frankly this is just another pistol chambered in 9 Minimal.
Taurus, like many other manufacturers, is getting to be like the deli counter in the grocery store: 35 different varieties of turkey. They are all turkey, but each is slightly different. Next, Taurus will add 1/2" to the barrel and call it a new model.
GX4 is a carry pistol by design. Adding an optic is overkill. It’s meant to be easily concealed. Longer handgrips and optics negate this to some extent.
I always like the limp wrist tests 😀. I've recently sold my G3 Taurus model that's had zero issues cause i wanted to try a CZ model in full size. Good thing is i sold it to my son . Could've made a bit more from the sell at a raffle but now i still get to shoot it some . Win,win.

Damn it. I have the taurus 66, g3, gx4xl and just ordered this one because i really like the way the gx4xl feels. People hate on taurus but taurus has not failed me yet.
Many that do are still stuck in the past when Taurus was putting out a lot of junk. Now days imo, they are much better and while folks may still get some lemons here and there, that's the reality with more budget offerings, but I've seen Ruger's, Beretta's, and FN's have issues right out of the box and get sent back to the manufacturer for defects.
I was all set to buy a GX4 Carry, but upon inspection at the shop, the mag release button was far too light, and the salesman agreed. I tried a regular GX4 model and it was the same, too light. I prefer a stiff mag release button so as not to drop mags when carrying or firing. I also like some white dots or lines on the rear sight instead of a blacked out rear sight. The sights can be swapped, but it appears that there is no easy fix for the weak mag release button. Sorry, but I had to pass. Make sure you test the mag release at the shop before buying. Taurus needs to fix this.
I paid $350 but at the shooting range, my rear sight became loose. Only issue I had with it so far. 400 rounds and no jams but changing the sights anyway
The new GX four carry does it have the issues of not being safe another words if you drop it it will go off the GF for head problems with it when you dropped it it went off
It passed the limp wrist test , Taurus is keeping up with game by putting out quality made pistols .

Agreed... the barrel hits my d**k. I'm constantly adjusting when I carry my HC pro and Gx4xl. I personally like carrying the Gx4

This gun's biggest natural enemy is likely the Springfield Hellcat Pro. You tested that also. So the question is which one do you prefer, and why?

How is the dot on the Cyelee optic? I heard it that is a clearer more defined red dot and great for those with astigmatism.
Not sure about astigmatism, the dot is crisp. I've had good luck with Cyelee
