    Just an FYI, you might want to mention Bluetooth and WiFi have to be off. I didn’t realize mine was on so I had issues uploading the firmware.

    Hi there. Thanks for your video. I just updated the body firmware to 2.7. However, I cannot update the lens firmware. It gives the same error as you mentioned: " file for firmware update cannot be found".
    The installed lens version is 1. I tried several versions, none of which show up. (BTW I'm not sure which lens firmware I should choose between "Wide Angle", "Standard", "Telephoto" and "Fixed Focal". Because I use different lenses but mostly a full-frame 16-28. Any chance for advice?

      You can get more information from the Panasonic Update site. Each lens firmware is only specific to one Panasonic lens model. You have to verify if the chosen lens software is the correct one. Copy the lens model from the firmware update page and put it into Google to find the full lens name.
      They have only the update for the S-R1635 which is a 16-35 zoom lens. I assume your lens is from Sigma. Anyway, there is no update for your lens on the Panasonic firmware page. Hope this helps.

      @@CameraRig thanks for your reply. Yes, I have Sigma 16-28 and Lumix 20-60. Ok, so it keeps multiple lens firmware inside? Because I was confused by the current firmware version which shows as 1 on my camera.

      @@reesaoldyear7763 yes, the lens firmware is installed on the lens itself.

    When I want to copy the firmware on the SD Card, it's Write protected (Read only) . I'll see if I can find the cause & a fix ...

    • @CameraRig
      @CameraRig  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There might be a slider on the side of the SD card to deactivate read-only mode.

      @@CameraRig Yes there is, but it wasn't the issue.
      There were many possibilities (that 1, corrupt card, reader/adapter issue, Read only programmed on the storage you'd have to "cmd/regedit out", etc), & after testing all of them, it ended up being the adapter (it's a µSD + SD adapter) ; don't know yet whether it's the USB reader having an issue on the SD side that it doesn't on the µ side, or the µ to SD adapter (tested both slider positions, same result), but once the adapter put aside & using the µSD side of the reader on the PC, it works.
      Thanks anyway :D

      @@bobcoco6047 Same issue but in my case I don't have an adapter, I'm using the camera with the SD card connected to the PC to transfer the files. So what could be the fix here? Just for more context I also have the problem that I cannot delete the files from the SD card even tho I'm not on locked mode

    Have you noticed any improvements on this update?

    • @CameraRig
      @CameraRig  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't tested it but the change logs say for the S5IIx that the Vlog quality improves.

      I actually talked to Panasonic about the issue that is caused when shooting in V-log. You get extremely dark pixels in outlines, especially between bright pixels and dark pixels. The pixels are too dark that shouldn't be exists in the V-log color range. After they told me the issue has been improved with the new firmware, I tested and it's somehow improved but not fully fixed. It's a bummer.

      @@arthousebymrrm interesting, I saw such weird behaviour in ProRes on the S5IIx. The blacks were really crushed. I tested it a month ago in another video.

    I have the 24-70mm f2.8. The firmware version shows Ver. 0.19. The latest firmware is Ver. 1.1. But when i copied the plf file in the sd card, the camera cant find the file.

      The best is if you ask for suggestions in a Reddit or Facebook group. There people can help you with your issue. Make sure to mention your camera model and which update you copied to which folder. I hope you can solve it!

      @@bobcoco6047 I think the best is to look for help one the Lumix Facebook groups. There are several, also for the S5IIX, for the S-Series, etc. Also Reddit I can recommend for help.
      It might be that the file is not at the right location.

      Haha it's getting so ironic... Every time, I get an unexpected (& unexpectable) issue, I don't find its solution, then troubleshoot it to end up with the/my solution, so that I do the same with the next following issue... 🤯
      I'm for sure not alone in that train, but usually it feels lonely .
      Anyway, my cause was most likely that my SD card on which it didn't work, even though formated by the camera, had been used on an Android phone, which proceeded to implement its own file system on top of it, thus the solution was to use another card formated by the cam, but never used on another device (except Windows which doesn't mind), & voilà. It would've also probably worked to reformat the card, but finding the specific cause was + satisfying & helpful I hope.
