Looks gorgeous 👍🏼. Thanks for sharing!
Looks good ! I have a C1500 1990 and i want to do the same , thanks for the video
I just ordered the same kit after seeing your video as my hood, roof and tailgate on my truck need this the rest of the car looks good. Has it held up fine it looks great.
Seems to be as durable as other clear coats!
I use a product called Flood Penetrol. Does the same job and applied the same way for about $10.00 a can. Love the look. 👍
Penetrol offers no UV protection and is a maintenance item.
That product will look horrible in 2months
Poppys is the way to go
I've used that stuff seems to fade eventually but, go over it again and it's good

Used penatrol as well. Been on a few months and it does eventually seem to dry out but for a cheap clear coat job it works! Looking forward to trying this product as well.
I’m doing mine and excited to see how it turns out. It’s not a c10 but I think it’s gonna look good. Thanks for the video!!!
Did you end up doing it?
love the truck brother
Thank you!!
You did a great job in the video!!!!! Very nice truck!
Thank you! Going to be doing an android tablet instrument cluster install on this one in the next couple weeks if you’re interested in LS swap stuff.
@@trbokmro hell yes I am!!!!!!!!! I have a 78 Chevy C30 dropped! I’m new to all the older stuff, I might need some advice or help of some stuff in the future
@@zo6kid21 NICE! Square chevy's are fairly simple and tough trucks, best thing I ever did to my 87 K5 was swap it to a LQ9 6.0L and built 4l65 trans combo. Thats my daily and it hasn't missed a beat since I put it together.
@@trbokmro you give me hope lol that I didn’t mess up buying this truck
Would leave it at one coat to keep the patina look otherwise you might as well have sprayed it on. Looks great!
I have my 84 C10 stripped. Thinking of going this route vs all the priming, filler, blocking, etc. This way my money and time can go more twords interior and engine.
I'm finishing up a 10 month full restoration of a VW camper bus and I have had my fill of body work and block sanding on these huge flat panels LOL! One of the reasons I figured I would try this setup to see if it made me tolerate the old paint and heck, I really like the way it looks and am glad I did it! Good luck with your project!
Any updates on how it’s holding up? Considering trying this out. Looks good thanks for the video and tips!
Sold the truck a month ago or so, still looked like in the vid when it sold. It’s some good stuff will use again
sad to see their prices have skyrocketed
Well done. I tried to get this product delivered to Australia but they said they can't send it. Something to do with laws transporting flammable liquids??? There has to be a way, flammable liquids are transported around the world every day.
Cheers
I believe it has something to do with insurance on flammables. If they were sending large quantities/bulk to sell it's the same price as just sending a single bottle of product. Friend of mine sells perfume in Germany (small biz) & can't ship to US either.
@@___shanaaa I found a place here that imports it over to Australia. I bought a kit to make a satin finish.
Any issues with streaking? Attempting on some flat black primer that I’ve knocked down with 800 grit. Thanks!
None to report, I applied it one direction then smoothed it going the opposite direction and it covered evenly. On black primer I would probably recommend shooting it if at all possible tho if you’re doing gloss. The satin clear I would think would be fine for primer
I just Rustoleum enameled my Bronco and the finish is “spotty” some glossy areas and some matted. I’m very nervous about spraying clear and getting Krazing/spider webbing as I see a lot of people have issues. I plan to wet sand 15k and 30k. I wonder if this product will cause krazing
I was very impressed with how even the coverage was using the wipe on method. Was it perfect? No. Did it make a tired old oxidized paint job look 100x better? YES. You won’t be able to beat a good clear applied with a quality paint gun tho.
Looks sweet!! Follow up video?
No way to do another vid, Dude just had to have this truck and made an offer I couldn’t say no to. Clear held up really well tho just like any other clear I’ve applied with a gun.
I just got mine delivered, going to do my car this or next weekend. Did you every apply the second coat?
Just on the hood to cover the light streaking I had from not applying enough consistently, stuff is awesome still holding up great!
How did it go?
@@techno_vato not the greatest for me. I did my best to prep and follow instructions but it barely added any shine to my car. I see so many positive reviews that I think I may have made an error somewhere but I barely got ably gloss at all after applying. I have a ton of extra product that I ordered though, would love to be able to correct whatever I did wrong to try and get the desired results
Wish I knew what poppy's actually is. Is it just a thinned out clear coat? I want to get some but so expensive
You ever get any?
@@techno_vato no
I made a custom welding bed a few months ago and wanted to get some patina so I let it rust for a while and I'm about to apply the same coating but gloss and I'm super nervous Do you have any tips?
Stuff goes on super easy just take your time and do one panel or area at a time and it will look great!
@@trbokmro appreciate it
How has it held up?
I sold it not to long ago but seems to be a tough as any other clear
Did you use the matte or the gloss ?
Gloss and it turned out really well! Not a perfect as spraying it on would be but I have no complaints
What happened to the follow up day 2 video?
Check my other vids I have a full walk around when I posted it for sale.
I thought when using wax a grease remover you have to wipe it whiles its wet otherwise the contaminants jidt dry back to the surface
You should first wash with soap and water, degrease with solvent and then run a tack cloth to pick up any cloth fibers from the solvent rags.
Can you put it over penatrore
Not sure what that is but the surface needs to be clean and free of oils for the clear to be applied
Did u scuff again your did u just apply again
If you let it dry then yes scuff it before the second coat
Thanks for the replay going to due my Chevelle
