Mine fell off in neutral, my park brake cable broke next... on a sloped driveway. I found at first this new bushing didn't snap into the groove on that pin. The groove had gunk and rust so I filed it deeper and sharper, put grease inside the bushing when pushing it on and then used a blunt screwdriver to make sure the bushing lip was pushed firmly into the groove all the way around the pin... all good.

I just got my 4423 and it started seizing up an hour after pulling it from the box. I pulled all thread, bobbin, needle, shank, took the case off, disassembled the bobbin case, everything. It made me nuts! About to try this and see how it goes. Thanks!

Having the same problem, and I know almost nothing about sewing machines. I’m watching what this guy’s talking about and still have no clue. It’s crap that I buy a new machine with a problem right out of the box. Unreal! Thought I had it on some weird thread position I didn’t know about. Turns out, this is a common issue?? Ugh so annoyed

I used zip ties to get my chevy back home. Put on the doorman bushing. Total pain to put in and failed within 5 minutes. Total junk

WARNING: I have a Singer Heavy Duty 6700C. It does not have a belt. Rather, it is direct drive and there is indeed an easy way to adjust it. The rotating part is connected with gears to a shaft with 3 set screws (Allen # 2). The set screws are accessible by a small panel on the bottom of the machine that opens with one screw. If you force the shaft to spin without slacking back the set screws, it will most likely score the shaft and thereafter come more easily out of alignment again.
