8:53 yeah there was an audio issue here. I said something about the DVDs having “a load of high quality bonus content.” I would reupload the video with the error fixed but I literally have no idea what happened with it. Everything seemed fine before I rendered it. Whatever. I hope you enjoy the video anyway. I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again.

I do not know about the American Blu-ray. But the Australian Blu-Rays of Steven Universe are known for having a bad case of missing frames due to the Blu-ray being mastered at 23.976fps, while the source material is 24fps. Just a heads up if they used the same master as the Australian S1 for the American S1

I think I have more fond memories watching the DVD for Shrek than I did with the actual movie. The menu for the Shrek 2 DVD is probably the best I’ve seen.
I really don’t own more than a dozen animated movies so if I did a video on that it would have to be sometime off in the future. Thanks for retweeting this video too. That was nice of you.

I know on how you feel here! Australia also got a full DVD series box set of the Extreme Dinosaurs animated T.V. series, while North Americans get nothing even though the current rights holder is DHX Media (a *_Canadian_* animation company that bought out Cookie Jar Entertainment, to which originally bought out DIC Entertainment); so I was forced to pirate the Extreme Dinosaurs episodes from the Internet in the very best picture (and sound) quality that I could find there *_just_* so I can burn them to a blank Blu-ray disc [there's 52 episodes in total there for the only one season that it got there, which made it necessary for me to use a blank Blu-ray disc as apposed to even a couple of blank dual-layer DVD's because of the high file size (around 300 to 350 MB) of each episode in due to me in converting the episode video files to HD and in wide screen format (720p × 1280p in resolution and 16:9 in aspect ratio)!], as I'm a *_PHYSICAL MEDIA_* person first and foremost here who shuns video streaming of cartoon movies and T.V. shows and thus rather pirate for free than continuously pay money to stream cartoon movies and T.V. shows!!!

I recently bought the first 100 episodes set for SpongeBob, and it is amazing with how the structured the titles on the discs. (For reference, a title on a DVD is basically one video file) That's where my Plex server I found that ripping each individual episode instead of every half hour is what it wants. There are still episodes where I had to swap of the order around, but overall it was pretty simple to rip them. Especially since make MKV ripped them in order which made it easy to title and number them.

I hate the Rugrats DVD sets with a burning passion. As a hardcore fan of the show, I can say that Rugrats deserves a lot more, as it was the juggernaut of the children's animation industry before SpongeBob came along. As you stated in the video, the Amazon sets were official bootlegs, and I agree with that sentiment entirely. When Paramount released their DVDs of the first four seasons, I gleefully traded my Amazon sets for these seasons for the Paramount sets, and I was gravely disappointed. There are so many bonus features from the compilation sets that I wish showed up on the DVDs.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIAL FEATURES FROM RUGRATS COMPILATION SETS THAT DID NOT SHOW UP ON THE SEASON DVDs:
    4 Inside-Out Boy shorts
    Nickelodeon Picture Puzzle
    Rugrats Rap
    3 The Off-Beats shorts
3 The Non-Adventures of Safety Queen shorts
Mini-documentary about the making of Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (from the Discover America VHS, of all places)
Tommy Pickles and the Great White Thing
    Pickles Family Album
Decade in Diapers episode clip gallery
    Rugrats Rock
The Making of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (from the Rugrats Kwanzaa VHS, of all places)
    ......
Aside from that, these DVDs could have the segments from The Splat where they talked about the show, and possibly even commentaries on the episodes from the surviving cast members. This could have had a Simpsons level of effort.
P.S. Did you know that the voice actresses behind Dil and Kimi went on to play Timmy and Trixie in The Fairly Odd Parents?

But i wish Cartoon Network would already put out a Dexters lab full seasons set cause for something so beloved, its gotten like zero respect, and only season 1 is on the "hall of fame" dvd they sell but season 1 is so weak honestly. S2 is when it hit its stride, and with todays tech its more than possible to get every season on a dvd set and sell it, along with some good extras.

From 2012 to 2014, Warner Bros. released the first four seasons of Adventure Time on DVD and Blu-ray to the Region 1/North American market. A special bonus feature for these releases was the presence of commentaries for select episodes with the cast and crew of the show.
However, some commentaries on each season had to be censored, with chunks of dialogue being replaced with ukulele music or a vocal echo effect. Some of the censorship was for content reasons/to maintain a TV-PG rating on the discs, while other censorship was for legal reasons.
The most heavily censored commentary came from season 2, which received a large number of complaints from older fans of the show. In an attempt to tone down the amount of censorship required in seasons 3 and 4's commentary, the cast/crew developed a safe word ("orange juice") for when the subject matter got beyond what they were allowed to say.
All international DVDs which contained commentary tracks had the same censorship applied. Since season 4, there have been no commentaries on the home video releases for Adventure Time, but it is unknown if the uncensored commentaries for these seasons will ever be released.

    Several things:
One, which DVD had that how to make SpongeBob tutorial, I remember seeing that.
Two, the nostalgia is real with the SpongeBob second season jingle.
Three, that end credits unskippable loop made me loathe the SpongeBob end credits theme for *years* .
Four, I remember having the SpongeBob Christmas DVD, and the episodes on there were my very first SpongeBob episodes. One of those episodes was Procrastination, and this version had the scenes that no longer show on digital release and T.V.
Five, does The First 100 Episodes DVD have those scenes for Procrastination.

My first Spongebob episodes came from a VHS. (According to my dad, at least. A majority of the VHS tapes I grew up watching were sold or given away, so they're just a distant memory.)
Apparently it was this one: spongebob.wikia.com/wiki/Sponge-A-Rama
The lines from these episodes are ingrained in my head, so there's the evidence for these being my first.
_"I THOUGHT WHAT WE HAD WAS SPECIAL!"_
Also, I'm a proud owner of the original box sets for the first 3 seasons.

Unfortunately, it seems that not even going digital with the Nickelodeon shows would guarantee the best value. When browsing on Amazon and iTunes, I noticed some shows like Rocket Power are actually missing some episodes that are present on the Burn-on-Demand releases. I suppose this means that you're left with a "pick your poison" scenario.

Dvd sales have been declining for years be lucky we’re getting DVDs at all every company has been getting lazy at dvd releases notice how you don’t see “3 disc ultimate collector’s edition” anymore if it’s more than one disc it’s cause it’s Blu-ray and dvd not because there’s more bonus features, it’s odd though because I think cheapening the product is also attributing to declining sales, which is a result of declining sales to begin with, but in the digital age what do you expecr

Disney needs to get on the ball with releasing their cartoon shows on DVD. From what I've gathered, the only Disney cartoons to be released in their entirety on DVD are the original DuckTales, TaleSpin, The Weekenders, and Gravity Falls. What I would pay to have a complete collection of Phineas and Ferb on DVD or Blu-ray.

For me, the big advantage DVDs have over digital streaming is full 30i motion. Nothing like watching a retro program in its original 60 fields per second rather than a compromised 30p. I just can't stand the way some streaming sites deinterlace their SD content. Often, they just chop off half the image and upscale the rest. Not even Blu Rays preserve 30i movement, typically IVTCing to a constant 24p with no regard for anything outside of the conventional framerate. Hey, if I can't unsee these miniscule imperfections, neither can you.

10:00 I understand why some people may like this feature, but I personally loathe it. I have OCD, which makes me feel like I have to watch things EXACTLY 100% like they were meant to be seen, and I consider the intro to be a part of the episode. So it feels like I’m missing a part of the episode. I know some people might not wanna sit through the intro every time they want to watch an episode, but I would’ve preferred an option where you can turn the intros on and off, so both parties can be satisfied.
