I still prefer physical media over streaming services. People don't realize they can just watch a dvd on their consoles. Yeah you definitely don't need a dvd player anymore as long as you have a ps4, ps5, xbox one, or xbox series x.

I will never understand why pepole think physical media is outdate. For me it's more convenient then streaming as
A: An episode or movie would be removed at whim/ won't be move to a different streaming service with out notice.
B: I actually have a chose as a consumer to say what cartoons/movies I want, and what I don't. Unlike streaming were you pay a flat fee to pay for both the content you don't/do like.
    C: Bonus features
D: It gives me something to show off, and show my taste to guest.
I don't understand if Books can stay digital/phyical why can't tv,moives, and video games

    • @flybuttero

I like physical too i only use streaming for shows that don't have releases from reading your alphabetical order heres my results :A is how i feel when cn didn't re release the grim movie or put it on hbo max/streaming
:B i do enjoy choosing shows/movies i want to own and if there's a episode or season i hate i skip it
:c of course everyone loves speacial features but not all releases come with but happy they're released at all
:D instead of showing off i use them mostly when we're offline or can't afford streaming
And why can't video games stay physical some games i miss and want to replay or never got a chance to get digitally or a code also shows need to stay movies are keeping up though besides Netflix ones

It’s strange, albeit awfully convient, that Season 4 and 5 of SpongeBob were still released on complete 3-disc sets in regions 2 and 4. And I don’t think we ever had the infamous box controversy with The Simpsons sets down here, at least not by the time my family started collecting them in 2009. I’d always wanted a set of Phineas and Ferb boxsets, since Disney was notoriously much more restrictive in releasing their TV shows on DVD, but it’s all too convient to have the whole series (and hundreds of others) on any given streaming service. Still, they should still have more customised menus for each show and more extensive bonus features.
Paramount+ isn’t worth the money until they add the deleted scene from the first SpongeBob movie where Patrick vomits for 10 seconds.

Foil embossed slipcovers, behind-the-scenes, a feature just for playing the music videos back-to-back (called "Concert Mode"), and animated rock concert style menus. It's up scaling is remarkably crisp and looks way too good to have been the original format.

When I was a kid I was a massive sucker for the old animated mario cartoons, and there was no such thing as streaming services back then. There was teh internet, but I was a dumb kid that could barely find 1 or 2 episodes on youtube. I had to rely soley on the dvds, but I could never find full seasons. They were almost always compilation dvds with either various episodes from that series, or a mish mash of episodes from the several different series. Also, despite several of these dvds having episodes of the super mario super show, several didnt even have the live action skits that would happen before and after every episode. I gave away most of my other dvds, but I still have this one dvd of the adventures of super mario bros 3, called "the trouble with koopas" or something, and its just a mix of various episodes. Of course, later on we eventually got netflix and I was able to watch the super mario super show complete with the weird skits. Now-a-days I could care less for dvd copies as I have no need for them, and collecting them is both expensive and confusing.

The Animaniacs had some DVDs released as well. Volume 4 strangely took way too long to release, around until 2013, as the last volume, Volume 3, was released in 2007. The original show was rereleased for the 25th Anniversary of the show in the form of the Complete Collection, containing all 4 volumes of the show, plus the direct to video movie Wakko's Wish. Apparently the film was released a second time on DVD, but the original show was released on DVD 5 times.
The 2020 show has been released on DVD as well, but we might have to wait for the final season to be released on DVD, likely in September, but the 2020 show was released on Digital Platforms.

What I don’t understand about Nickelodeon, Disney, etc. is when they release something, the cover art is so obnoxiously pastel that does not actually portray the actual colors of the animation. Everyone’s eyes are also unusually shiny and reflective.

Oh boy I've waited so long for the sequel to your last DVD video!!! What a nice time to be alive!
Also, I see comments talking about how good Nickelodeon treats his cartoons on DVD releases, but here in Latin America, there is nothing on DVD of Nickelodeon (just Spongebob at the best case), it's terribly sad because the only way to watch old Nicktoons is on streaming (but even streaming services don't have all the seasons, at the very least two of SB of FOP), and also some streaming services have for example, Avatar, but another has Hey Arnold, and other has Cat dog, it's so bad!

Lemme just say, that Gravity Falls Blu-ray set is *killer*.
It exists on Blu-ray, for one, and I keep my collection exclusively Blu-ray and 4K. That set has everything you could ever want for the show. All the episodes, tons of bonus content and secrets, and even a replica of the letter from the finale.
Side note: this is the last video I expected to get Weezered in but, as a fan, I can't say I'm upset.

    • @Kingmathias25
      @Kingmathias25 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

They likely had some extras that were unsold from 15 years ago lying around in a warehouse somewhere so they decided to rerelease them without giving them new box art or new ads and only gave them a new slip cover and called it a day.
