Well, I don't know why people are complaining about the position of SD card in Avata. I find it easy to access. Maybe the first time, but then you learn, as you learn every other thing on this planet. It takes a minute or two to figure it out, but I had no problem afterwards.
I don't get why you mention legalities on climbing up a mountain more than 500 m, when clearly such a flight would not be even close to VLOS anyway... 🤷♂️
I'm still looking for a drone of that size that can deliver a payload. Simple... so I thought. I just want to drop a lure farther than my old body can toss it. Any suggestions?

With the height limit, what happens if you go up the mountain and land somewhere then take off again? Does it reset the height to be the distance from ground you took off from?
I tested this with a Mini 2 a year or two ago and yes, that works. However, the trouble is finding a safe place to land some hundreds of metres higher than you and being 100% sure you can take off again (retain signal)! I'd like to see DJI have their drones up the 500 metre limit whenever the drone detects something underneath it (i.e. with vision positioning system). Even if that increased limit was only valid within 100 metres horizontally of that point or similar. This should still be safe while avoid the fixed 500 metres vertical limit. I live in an area which is quite "mountainous" - the 500 metre fixed limit is annoying!
No unfortunately it is not. I am flying a lot with drones and was in Peru recently travelling. Was taking off on 4500m+. Because it is connected to GPS it will always see the high altitude
@@Thstethat just means it would work though no? If you were taking off at 4500m then it obviously let you. And that would be so stupid on their part if they made it that way because then you basically wouldn’t be able to fly it anywhere that’s not close to sea level
I have a question about being “legal”. The rules say that even if you have a 2nd observer, the drone must stay within line of sight. So doing things like mountain surfing or flying down a river or a mountain trail, I guess, is technically illegal since the drone will be out of sight. It might be within a 100 yards but you won’t be able to see it due to obstructions. Is that legal or illegal? I see people, for example follow a bicycle race down a LONG mountain and there is no way the drone is within sight the whole time. Do they just ignore the rules and do it anyway or do they get special permission or is the “line of sight” rule actually more nuanced? One suggestion: list the 5 reasons in the description or comments so I can easily go back and remind myself of what they are. Thank you

When/if they release the o4 air unit you will more than likely be able to use the goggles and controller but there's no guarantee until dji actually releases it.
I just got this drone delivered today. It is amazing!. I only wish it came with the normal FPV controller as Im used to that. I have flown regular FPV drones as well. Most people I see discussing this seem to strongly believe they will eventually allow you to pair this to O3 air units. My guess is they will wait until after they release the O4 and reach some sales goal and then launch a firmware update to allow O3 compatibility. There was an update yesterday that now allows older goggles and controllers to bind to the Avata 2, so it's just a matter of time in my opinion.
Just got the drone been flying it for a couple of days, the biggest draw back for me is the quality of the still photos, I know I should not expect much from a FPV drone, video quality is pretty good tho.

My Avata 2 went haywire in the exact same way, I uploaded a clip of it, almost lost the drone, basically the same situation as your friends footage. Out of all the reasons not to buy it, this one takes the cake.
7:01 I can not understand why the Avata 2 still does that! Such a BIG FAIL from DJI, I had so many problems with the Avata 1 because of this. I will not buy the Avata 2 until they fix this! But it seems to be a hardware issue, not a software issue, just bad design, it is called yaw washout / prop wash.
All of the cinewhoops have this issue, not only avata bro. Basically you shouldn’t do quick yaw turns, but adding throttle during the turn might help to avoid that 👌
It even says in the settings to avoid sharp turns at high speed. It's design limitation. Not having ducts would help, but would make it less durable and wouldn't allow C1 certification
Small motors and Small props won't give enough lift during sudden turns and more throttle when doing this but if that still not enough then drone goes to stall and drift with its momentum through the air, with Small drones like this you shouldn't do sudden turns but more like a smooth one that won't effect its lift or goes to prop wash and turbulence airs under its flight path, dji fixing this means put more powerful motor and bigger surface props that would causes less flight time and makes it more noisy, I got the dji fpv and it doesn't have this problem simply because the drone produces more than 2.5 times of its weight as lift during full throttle, avata 2 might just be 1:1 or just a bit more which is not enough
That GEO fencing, even we unlock and fly in the zone, sometimes it get madness, sometimes the avata hover and change to normal mode itself, hhh. So embarrassing.
I have 2 reasons only: 1 - I don't have a spotter, needed to use it. 2- Cannot travel with it, because the weight requirements. My M4P pro is enough, for the moment. PS - in Europe the limit is 120 Meters, not 500.
Excluding the fact that on a 10 min video you slapped a 2:32 min of advertising, excluding the fact that you said your self that this model is not suited for fast fpv, or high speed maneuvers, due to the fact that also dji itself designed this product to be an easy entry level experience, and exlcuding the fact that you only did this video on trying to hook some more views, how gives the right to advise to BUY or " NOT BUY" some product?! Apart from being disrespectful to however company, you're also making people confused for a bunch of bullshit "problems" of this product, which again has no value for this kind of product. IF YOU WHANT A FAST FLYING, MOUNTAIN DIVING, SHARP CORNER BUMBLEBEE BUY YOUR SELF A GOD DAMN FAST DRONE AND DON' T CRITICISE JUST FOR PROFIT!
imma use it for home tour stuff ..and indoor video.. other than that.. got plenty of carbon build cinnywhoop out there.. for LR we gor chimera, helion, moz 7, geo crocs and more... it just different purpose... but the build quality for avata2 is shit... need someone to build exoskeleton for it .. a lighter one .. and hope 04 coming out
The goggle incompatibility is a longstanding and repeated problem with DJI. I've held off buying more than one of their drones because they weren't compatible with DJI's own current goggles. The result? Zero sales for DJI thus far in my household.
Its a design limitation (aerodynamics) They even warn you about it in the Manual mode settings. It's a compromise between safety, efficiency and performance. Don't worry about buying it. It won't happen at random. Only at very high energy manoeuvres at nearly max speed.
1:26 That makes no sense. So you are saying not to buy it because it does perfectly what it was designed for? 🤦 5:02 It is most likely to get C1 classification, same with the ducts made of softer plastic (less energy transfer to human head impact), but.. you could land higher up and update home point, or launch from the top. Problem solved (by the way, most people fly in urban areas or parks, so won't have your big mountains problem. Going over 200m away with this small drone is basically BVLOS anyway.) 🤨 6:34 Same as first one, taking it beyond design limits. It's physics, not a software bug. 🙁 7:28 They will most likely make it compatible when they sell enough.Good business strategy. You did the same by making this pointless video just to ride the hype train. 💲 8:18 You just moan to get the video over 10 minutes. 😂 I see one reason not to buy it. If you already have a Mavic or similar, buy proper FPV drone instead of Avata2, If you only have FPV drones, buy a Mavic. Otherwise if you have none, this is perfect drone to check both aspects of the hobby.
There’s noway I’ll sale my goggles 2 , for the goggles 3 😂I like the form factor of the goggles 2 way better than the goggles 3 & speedy bee 🐝 got a new adapter out where you can use 2s to 6s batteries !!!

2- Cannot travel with it, because the weight requirements.
My M4P pro is enough, for the moment.
PS - in Europe the limit is 120 Meters, not 500.
Flase information regarding drone limit 😌
The dude in the middle of the video is pissing me off by talking about ugreen sponsoring video ! So lame
You gotta admit tho. It’s pretty awesome
Sorry but I despised hard drives, It gave me headache a couple of time now where it broke down by just using it for 2 yrs. all files!? boom gone!
I had the same problem of losing control during a flight and almost crashing into some trees. mini heart attack
Reasons why you should Not buy the avata 2: 1. reason: IT is a Cinewhoop
Me: it is exactly what i want 😂😂😂😂
well this actually convinced me to buy one
No way the Avata 2 is crashing on the turns like the Avata 1. He didn’t even turn that hard?
Update: There was a software update and now you can connect your goggles 3 with Mini4pro and Air3
Great vid ! thx
5 minutes why im sponsored
Thanks I am buying one 🤙🏼
You can mountain surf legally as long as you stay within 400’ of the mountain 🏔️ as your surfing 🏄♀️ and your will be fine.
imma use it for home tour stuff ..and indoor video.. other than that.. got plenty of carbon build cinnywhoop out there.. for LR we gor chimera, helion, moz 7, geo crocs and more... it just different purpose... but the build quality for avata2 is shit... need someone to build exoskeleton for it .. a lighter one .. and hope 04 coming out
The strange flying glitch that the drone dips if you turn aggressive is still there...
reason no. 6: no vertical/portrait mode
Another reason is that the avata 2 don’t record audio
If you don't want that drone, can I have it?
The goggle incompatibility is a longstanding and repeated problem with DJI. I've held off buying more than one of their drones because they weren't compatible with DJI's own current goggles. The result? Zero sales for DJI thus far in my household.
The most important thing I miss: Rapairability!
Reason #6.
FPV = Crashes.
Beginner = Crashes.
To fix a cracked prop guard, this drone has to be shipped to #DJI 💸💸
#Avata2 is NOT a beginner drone
Man, The software bug make me afraid of buying this drone.
They'll probably fix it soon, more and more people are talking about it.
Those flight characteristics arent just a software bug you expect to be fixed, reference the avata 1
@@D.Bergeron yes, they fixed just part of issue.
I never trust in Avata 1
Its a design limitation (aerodynamics) They even warn you about it in the Manual mode settings. It's a compromise between safety, efficiency and performance. Don't worry about buying it. It won't happen at random. Only at very high energy manoeuvres at nearly max speed.
That falloutofthesky bug was a problem from day one of Avata 1 and it's still not fixed in Avata 2... 😆 Just get a real FPV drone instead!
AVATA 2 is 3"inch CINEWHOOP drone so why the hell you complain Avata2 for not be able to go more than 500m height?? this makes no sence...
That is why we are still flying Dji FPV and killing) Just bought avata 2 to compare.
Different world
Shhhh.... not "long range"... *extended endurance*
Height limit is the real turn off for me
I seriously hope DJI makes a bigger Avata that can do longer range flights
I hope they make a smaller one under 250g like the Mini series 😊
4 months later and they still only have 3-4 drones that work with goggles 3
hes also selling toyota camry
Shiprock ❤
1:26 That makes no sense. So you are saying not to buy it because it does perfectly what it was designed for? 🤦
5:02 It is most likely to get C1 classification, same with the ducts made of softer plastic (less energy transfer to human head impact), but.. you could land higher up and update home point, or launch from the top. Problem solved (by the way, most people fly in urban areas or parks, so won't have your big mountains problem. Going over 200m away with this small drone is basically BVLOS anyway.) 🤨
6:34 Same as first one, taking it beyond design limits. It's physics, not a software bug. 🙁
7:28 They will most likely make it compatible when they sell enough.Good business strategy. You did the same by making this pointless video just to ride the hype train. 💲
8:18 You just moan to get the video over 10 minutes. 😂
I see one reason not to buy it. If you already have a Mavic or similar, buy proper FPV drone instead of Avata2, If you only have FPV drones, buy a Mavic. Otherwise if you have none, this is perfect drone to check both aspects of the hobby.
You hit a tree in a forest with the drone, good luck finding it.
There’s noway I’ll sale my goggles 2 , for the goggles 3 😂I like the form factor of the goggles 2 way better than the goggles 3 & speedy bee 🐝 got a new adapter out where you can use 2s to 6s batteries !!!
